Especially since the 2007–08 financial crisis, commentators have seized on the term “regulatory arbitrage” to describe a sprawling range of strategic compliance behavior spanning diverse sectors of the contemporary economy. Despite the term’s prevalence, there is scant agreement on the scope of activities it describes. To some, it has become a catch-all for legal avoidance from time immemorial. Such an expansive understanding obscures the context that led the term to acquire salience and fosters a fatalist view that all regulation is futile. Healing is not linear, nor is it always beautiful. The reflective essay explains the academic and theoretical context that the collection is built on. From the invisible frameworks of patriarchy and gender roles to Audre Lorde, whose rhetoric served as an incredible inspiration to this project. The poetry collection sits at an intersection of the writers academic, professional, and creative work, with additional inspiration being derived from her volunteer work with sexual assault survivors.

This is a research paper on the immediate qualitative effects of the repeal of Right to Work laws in Michigan. It uses the UFCW Local 951 as a case study, analyzing the findings from interviews with union representatives and stewards. The literature review explains the history and effects of unions and Right to Work laws. Chiropractic care is widely recognized as a safe, holistic approach for managing musculoskeletal conditions, yet the profession continues to face longstanding skepticism and misunderstanding. Many individuals remain unsure about what chiropractors treat, a gap that may exist due to inaccurate social media content and bias among some medical providers, which can limit referrals and reduce patient access to appropriate care. Inferring The Breakdown Scales Of The Chiral Expansions For GA And MN, Andreas Ekström, Daniel R. Phillips, Lucas Platter, Matthias Schindler

We apply Bayesian inference to the order-by-order chiral perturbation theory (χPT) expansions for the axial-vector coupling constant g_A and the nucleon mass m_N, and thereby infer the scales at which χPT breaks down for these two observables. Using a pointwise Bayesian analysis, we find that the inferred breakdown scales are notably different for the two observables. For the chiral expansion of g_A, we obtain 251⁺²⁰₋₅₀ MeV and 211⁺²⁰₋₃₀ MeV using two distinct sets of low-energy constants, while for the chiral expansion of m_N we infer a significantly …

Despite the many documented physical and social benefits, dance is frequently not accessible to individuals with and without disabilities. We share an inclusive dance community partnership called Let’s Dance! that was developed to foster movement, connections, and inclusion. To increase awareness and inclusive dance opportunities, this community partnership involved (a) a workshop on inclusive dance practices for preservice teachers and (b) a community-based inclusive Let’s Dance! dance event. The Philippines’ growth model depends on trade openness but faces three key constraints: tariff policy, logistics inefficiencies, and global trade uncertainty (Castillo, 2025; Aldaba, 2025; UNCTAD, 2024). While low tariffs support competitiveness by reducing input costs, logistics bottlenecks and external shocks increase trade costs and undermine these gains (Castillo, 2025; World Bank, 2023).

This brief argues that sustaining competitiveness and resilience requires coordinated reforms across these areas. Maintaining low and predictable tariffs, improving logistics performance, and diversifying export markets must be pursued together to reduce trade costs and manage external risks.

Global oil prices have risen sharply following the escalation of renewed geopolitical conflict and severe disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime route for global energy shipments. From a pre-conflict level of approximately US$72 per barrel, Brent crude has surged to nearly US$150 per barrel as of mid-April 2026 (Reuters, 2026), a roughly twofold increase, as tanker attacks and fears of sustained supply disruption persist despite a large coordinated reserve release by the International Energy Agency.

This policy note presents simulation results examining the impact on the Philippine economy of global oil and petroleum price shocks triggered by geopolitical tensions stemming from U.S.–Israel military actions (unprovoked bombing) against the Islamic Republic of Iran. These developments have contributed to significant disruptions in global energy markets, including sharp increases in oil prices and heightened risks to key supply routes such as the Strait of Hormuz.

The analysis considers multiple scenarios, comparing outcomes with and without government intervention to assess the effectiveness of different policy responses under such external shocks.

Regional trade liberalization via preferential agreements increasingly shapes economic outcomes in small open economies embedded in overlapping regional frameworks. This study evaluates the short-run economy-wide effects of tariff and non-tariff measure (NTM) reforms under the South Asian Free Trade Area (SAFTA) and the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) using a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model calibrated to the GTAP 10 database. Gravity-based estimates of ad valorem equivalents (AVEs) of NTMs are integrated into the CGE framework, enabling explicit modeling of regulatory barriers alongside tariff reductions. This transtracheal technique for cricopharyngeal botulinum toxin injection is a safe and effective option for chemodenervation of this muscle in the awake patient. Its advantages include reduced risk of toxin spread to intrinsic laryngeal muscles, the ability to administer higher doses of botulinum toxin, improved access to the entire length of the cricopharyngeus, and avoidance of general anesthesia.

Purpose: The primary objective was to determine whether growth failure (GF) is associated with early recurrence in congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). The secondary objective was to characterize the prevalence and severity of GF in CDH survivors.

Background: GF is common among CDH survivors, yet it is unclear how growth challenges affect overall morbidity, including hernia recurrence. CDH-specific nutritional guidelines include high calorie and protein targets during periods of acute illness but may benefit from clarifying the relationship between growth and adverse outcomes in this population.

Purpose: Sociodemographic characteristics, such as race and ethnicity, are associated with delays in ASD diagnosis. However, limited literature has examined the characteristics associated with delayed diagnosis since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to identify the individual and aggregate sociodemographic characteristics associated with the age at which a child receives a referral for a diagnosis (from March 2020 to May 2023) and evaluate the impacts of the pandemic on this association.
