Prevalence And Beliefs Associated With Vaccine Hesitancy Among Muslim-Americans, Marina Ali
Prevalence And Beliefs Associated With Vaccine Hesitancy Among Muslim-Americans, Marina Ali
Health and Kinesiology Theses
Background. Vaccine hesitancy hinders the eradication of preventable illnesses. Furthermore, there are gaps in public health research on vaccine hesitancy among Muslims in heterogenous societies.
Objective. This study aimed to determine whether socioeconomic demographics, political beliefs and trust in public institutions were associated with vaccine hesitancy beliefs. Additionally, two models were applied to determine which factors had the strongest influence in rejecting vaccines.
Method. Participants were recruited through Facebook group posts. Seventy-three responses were received. Sixty-three responses met the inclusion criteria and were included in the final analysis. Participants rated their opinions on political beliefs, religious practices, trust in institutions …
Commitment To Collaboration: Development Of A School Nursing Collaboration Instrument, Jodi S. Bullard
Commitment To Collaboration: Development Of A School Nursing Collaboration Instrument, Jodi S. Bullard
Nursing Theses and Dissertations
Registered nurses (RNs) have an ethical responsibility to collaborate, thereby promoting the scope of nursing practice and working to positively influence health outcomes. This responsibility encompasses RNs employed as school nurses (SNs). Examples of SN collaboration with campus, school district, and community health partners exist. However, SNs’ commitment to collaboration in these relationships has not been examined.
Chapter 2, “COVID-19: Planning and Postpandemic Partnerships,” explores surges in school nursing partnerships that occur during healthcare emergencies. The significance of partnering with SNs in the school, school district, and community setting is discussed. The need to develop school nursing partnerships that extend …
Halophilic Genes That Impact Plant Growth In Saline Soils, Mckay A. Meinzer
Halophilic Genes That Impact Plant Growth In Saline Soils, Mckay A. Meinzer
Theses and Dissertations
Many plants are highly sensitive to salt in the soil, and their growth and yield can be greatly hindered by as little as less than 1% salt concentration in the soil. Additionally, soil salinity is a growing issue globally and affects significant areas in Utah. Halophytes are plants that are adapted to grow in saline soils and have been widely studied for their physiological and molecular characteristics, but little is known about their associated microbiomes. Bacteria were isolated from the rhizosphere and as root endophytes of Salicornia rubra, Sarcocornia utahensis, and Allenrolfea occidentalis, three native Utah halophytes. Several strains of …

Wills Eye Hospital Papers
Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the utility of a rationally engineered antibody that directly blocks collagen fibrillogenesis to reduce scar tissue formation associated with subconjunctival glaucoma surgery.
Material and methods: Fourteen eyes of 7 adult rabbits underwent glaucoma filtering surgery using XEN 45 Gel Stent. The rabbits’ eyes were divided randomly into three treatment groups: (i) treated with the antibody, (ii) treated with mitomycin C, and (iii) treated with the antibody and mitomycin C. Following surgeries, the intraocular pressure and bleb appearance were evaluated in vivo. The rabbits were sacrificed 8 weeks after the surgery, and their eyes were …
