Research On The Impact Of Industrial-Financial Cooperation On Corporate R&D Investment, Jiayin Yin

The national industrial-financial cooperation pilot policy represents a key strategic initiative to implement China's strategy of building a "financial powerhouse" and guide financial resources toward empowering high-quality development in the real economy. In December 2016, four central government departments in China jointly announced the first batch of national industrial-financial cooperation pilot cities. Leveraging this quasi-natural experiment, this study comprehensively evaluates the impact of the pilot policy on corporate R&D investment activities using a sample of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2014 to 2019.

Research findings indicate: (1) The industrial-financial cooperation pilot policy significantly increases enterprises' R&D investment levels. Specifically, compared …

Western Australia's (WA) sheep industry has undergone substantial structural transformation since the 1990s, with a 67% reduction in the flock, from 38.4 million in 1989-90 to 12.7 million in 2020-21. This transformation process followed the collapse of the Reserve Price Scheme for wool in 1991. This report examines the spatial and temporal changes in flock size, composition, and producer adaptation strategies from 2010-11 to 2020-21, drawing on Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) census data and Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) and Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) producer surveys data.

Objective: Genetic characterization of migraine with aura in the population of Buenos Aires Province, Argentina.

Background: Migraine is a primary headache disorder with neurovascular involvement. Migraine with aura is a subtype that accounts for approximately 15–40% of all migraine cases. Several studies have shown that the global prevalence of migraine varies depending on the population studied. The population of Buenos Aires Province has an admixed genetic background. Several genetic association studies on migraine have been reported; however, most of them were conducted in cohorts of European ancestry, introducing a bias that overlooks global population diversity.

The Hogan/Gawker litigation occupies a special place in public discussions concerning third-party litigation funding, the practice of investors who fund litigation with the goal of earning a profit. While nearly a decade has passed since the conclusion of the case, the Hogan/Gawker litigation is still regularly referenced in academic literature and popular media. Sickle cell anemia (SCA) causes childhood morbidity and mortality in Uganda and other countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Hydroxyurea is safe and effective, but not currently widely used in Uganda. We piloted a toolkit to support hydroxyurea use in two public health clinics: a regional referral hospital in a peri-urban area and a district hospital in a rural area. Implementation supports included a manual, expert training, and coaching over 2 years. We conducted key informant interviews and focus groups with national stakeholders, hospital leaders, healthcare workers, patient caregivers, and patients early in Year 1 and later in Year 2. North Carolina became the 41^st state to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. The bipartisan expansion addressed longstanding challenges; however, little is known about how Local Health Departments (LHDs) adapted to this policy change, especially in the 24 months following expansion. This study sought to fill that gap by documenting the perspectives of LHD Directors in North Carolina utilizing a ten-question REDCap survey with closed- and open-ended questions. Purposeful sampling targeted all 86 LHD Directors. Data was collected anonymously between November 2025 and January 2026. Descriptive and thematic analyses were conducted. Implicit biases within medical education can influence learners’ perceptions, clinical reasoning, and future patient interactions. This study analyzed implicit bias within the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine’s (USD SSOM) Pillar I pre‑clerkship curriculum using a two‑phase mixed‑methods approach. Phase I consisted of a subjective content analysis of randomly selected lectures across ten system blocks, examining both textual and visual materials for evidence of bias in eleven domains identified by the Association of American Medical Colleges. Search Costs, Intermediation, And Trade: Experimental Evidence From Ugandan Agricultural Markets, Lauren Falcao Bergquist, Craig Mcintosh, Meredith Startz

We study the large-scale experimental rollout of a platform that reduced search and matching frictions in Ugandan agricultural markets by connecting buyers and sellers. Market integration improved substantially: trade increased and price gaps fell. Interpreting the experiment through a trade model, we estimate treatment effects accounting for equilibrium changes that impact control markets. The intervention reduced fixed trade costs by 20% and increased trade flows between treated markets by 7% and across all markets by 1%. Scale economies shaped engagement:few farmers used the platform, but equilibrium price convergence from improved arbitrage by larger traders passed through to farm revenue.

This thesis investigates event-based sensing for hemodynamic measurements in transmission mode through the human finger. Conventional frame-based imagers are limited by exposure time, frame rate, and motion blur, which reduce sensitivity to fast optical transients. To address these bottlenecks, this thesis introduces a novel transmission-mode sensing framework using a Prophesee EVK4 HD neuromorphic sensor. This Article examines the systematic degradation of women and girls in Afghanistan since the Taliban reclaimed power in 2021, and the resulting violations of international human rights law. To provide context for the legal analysis, the Article includes a historical perspective of women’s rights before the takeover, as well as first-hand accounts of life under the current regime. This Note argues that the International Criminal Court (ICC) should assert jurisdiction over atrocities from the 2023 Nagorno-Karabakh offensive and pursue prosecutions for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Proper International Humanitarian Law (IHL) classification places the situation in an international armed conflict—via direct interstate action and/or occupation—triggering the full Article 8 framework. Jurisdiction is grounded in Armenia’s ratification and retroactive Article 12(3) acceptance; admissibility is satisfied because Azerbaijan is unwilling to conduct genuine proceedings. While cooperation obstacles remain, targeted enforcement measures can strengthen execution of warrants. The bottom line is doctrinal, not diplomatic: sovereignty cannot shield atrocity crimes; the …

This article assesses the communication environment of the north inner city of Dublin, an area characterised by entrenched disadvantage, rapid demographic change, and neoliberal urban renewal. Findings were produced from a ten-week engagement journalism project involving the Dublin Inquirer, various community groups, and working-class residents. Using Communication Infrastructure Theory (CIT), the study draws on focus groups, participant observation, and interviews to assess local storytelling networks in the context of the project.
