Anaerobic soil disinfestation (ASD) is emerging globally as an alternative to fumigant pesticides. To investigate ASD mechanisms, we monitored microbially produced volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other volatile gases in situ using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy. Study plots infested with Fusarium oxysporum, Macrophomina phaseolina, and/or Verticillium dahliae included: organic flat ground (fASD, 6.7 + 13.5 megagrams per hectare, Mg/ha, rice bran/broccoli) and uncovered soil treated with mustard seed meal (MSM, 3.4 Mg/ha) at one site performed in fall of 2018; formed bed (bASD, 20 Mg/harice bran), control (UTC) and fumigant (FUM) at a second field site in fall of 2019 …

Macroprudential policies are increasingly being used in various countries after the global financial crisis in 2008. One of the macroprudential policies in Indonesia is the motor vehicle loan down payment policy. This study discusses the impact of the down payment policy on the growth of banking motor vehicle loans in Q1 2011 to Q4 2019. Using the fixed effect model method, the study was conducted on all banks that provided motor vehicle loans during the study period. Augmented reality (AR) integrates virtual content into a consumer's perception of the real world. While academic interest in AR is growing, most prior research has focused on consumer evaluations of AR content and neglected the physical context in which AR content is consumed. Addressing this research gap, two experimental studies showed that context (e.g., experiencing a virtual sofa at home vs. in a university classroom) impacts consumer judgments and evaluations. Aging has become a challenging issue worldwide as well as in the United States where the high cost of nursing homes and unfriendly insurance plans have exacerbated the situation. To address this issue, multigenerational living arrangements have gained attention to bring financial, social, and environmental benefits, and reduce social isolation and loneliness among older adults. Researchers employed qualitative research methods by gathering data from open-ended interviews and observations to explore interior design needs and concerns and to identify necessary adjustments to promote aging-friendly living environments for multigenerational households. Since the height of the COVID pandemic in 2020, alcohol-based hand sanitizers have been utilized by the general public because it eliminates germs on the skin surface along with virus cells. The use of hand sanitizer can have an adverse effect on the collection of fingerprints at a crime scene. A fingerprint is made up of amino acids which deteriorate under the presence of alcohol-based hand sanitizer. This project will design, fabricate, and test a magnetoelastic nickel-iron-cobalt alloy resonator for ground fault detection applications, specifically in photovoltaic systems. The electrodeposition technique will be used to fabricate the proposed resonator as it enables a precise manufacturing process. It allows for better control and optimization of material properties (magnetic, mechanical, and electrical) while facilitating the necessary dimensions. Hansen Technologies, based in Commerce GA, is a global leader in the production of industrial refrigeration. One of their most profitable product assembly cells, the Multivalve Platform cell, is not currently producing enough to meet increasing demand. The MVP team focused on analyzing and designing a system using Kaizen to improve the throughput of the MVP cell. After conducting a root cause analysis through Gemba and video analysis, key areas were noted for improvement. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. Efforts to decrease the number of deaths over the last decade have included the publication of guidelines by the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommending annual low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) scanning in patients meeting specific criteria in order to facilitate the detection and classification of potential cancers, allowing for earlier and possibly curative intervention. Background

National opioid-related overdose fatalities totaled 650,000 from 1999 to 2021. Some of the highest rates occurred in New Hampshire, where 40% of the population lives rurally. Medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD; methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone) have demonstrated effectiveness in reducing opioid overdose and mortality. Methadone access barriers disproportionally impact rural areas and naltrexone uptake has been limited. Buprenorphine availability has increased and relaxed regulations reduces barriers in general medical settings common in rural areas. Barriers to prescribing buprenorphine include lack of confidence, inadequate training, and lack of access to experts. To address these barriers, learning collaboratives have trained …
