Lewis’ appreciation of nature begs the question: from where does the natural world gain its purpose and meaning? Lewis’ valuation of nature can be understood perhaps best through participatory ontology: the immanent world is valued and saved only through the participation of the divine; the lower life is brought up into the higher life. This view can be seen very openly and unmistakably throughout The Chronicles of Narnia, where the natural Narnian world of plants, animals, trees, and creatures of all kinds are celebrated, and some are eventually included in the New Narnia.

This is a quality improvement project that focuses on implementing screening for acute stress disorder using the Acute Stress Disorder Structured Interview–DSM-IV tool in a Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a Level 2 Trauma Center in Nashville, TN. Currently, at this hospital there is not a screening process implemented for these patients. Every trauma patient meets the criteria for acute stress disorder. Starting the process early aims for patients to be properly educated about their trauma and gets them the resources they need to heal mentally from the trauma.

Most scientific disciplines depend on mathematics to varying degrees. Real-world problems often include quantifiable measurements with units. For example, chemistry, physics, and pharmacology require flawless unit conversions and dimensional homogeneity to obtain acceptable results. Students often choose to ignore units until the end of the problem-solving process, but this introduces errors and robs students of a deep understanding of units. Current tools for teaching dimensional analysis are limited both in scope and accessibility. Our contribution is a presentation of the history of music throughout the ages, highlighting the countries of publication by year since the 15th century. A blue zone is an indicator of exceptional health in a community. Adventists have a blue zone community in Loma Linda, but there has been little research into other Adventist populated areas that could be blue zones. Therefore, our goal is to show that open data suggests that a blue zone may exist near Southern Adventist University, specifically in Collegedale. This data has been gathered from different federal sources, including, the CDC, the US Census Bureau, the Tennessee Department of Health, official state records, and federal documents that are available to the public.

A research repository was created so that Southern Adventist University has a central place for all past, current, and future research projects. This repository is a web application created with the use of the Yii framework that utilizes PHP and SQL. The repository has a user-friendly interface to let authorized users upload the information about their projects. The Center for Innovation and Research in Computing (CIRC) is creating a web application that uses game-based learning to help students be engaged and collaborate, as an adventure-based quest.

In this research project, the activity module was created for this web application. This module contains assignment creation, completion, and grading. These assignments can be included in the quests and courses. The seamless connection between the activity module and the course module was possible with the Yii framework.

A Davis Wireless Vantage Pro 2 weather station has been collecting data on Southern Adventist University’s campus since December 2019. Some of the data are uploaded and reported by Weather Underground. The remaining data are not easily accessible. This project aims to make that data available to the general public through an interactive dashboard. Weather data specific to campus may help further scientific research that requires accurate weather records.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, one-third of all food produced for human consumption, approximately 1.3 billion tons per year, is wasted or lost globally. Data as of March 1, 2020 indicates that Europe produces 88 million tons of food waste annually, of which approximately one million tons is food waste from Portugal. Portugal has, and Lisbon in particular has, been a leader on food loss and waste policy issues. This article will detail Portugal’s efforts to reduce food waste as well as other countries efforts.
