The purpose of this project was to create and design packaging for 4 different products: lotion, wipes, pacifiers, and an outfit. Teensy Ducklings is a brand that focuses on making baby products that are ethical yet affordable for mothers and their babies. The idea for the name is based off baby ducks who look up to their mothers while growing up. The overall goal was to create a cute and friendly cohesive packaging system for these products to exist in.

During the 2021-2022 academic year, the Players produced Bright Star, a bluegrass story about love, loss, and family. Bright Star generated new funds for the club and met several of the objectives set forth by the production team. The purpose of this project was to re-brand an existing company that offers users a service. Indeed was chosen due to its outdated branding and potential for modernized design. Inspiration was taken from other employment websites, such as Handshake. For the new logo, the outdated corporate blue was replaced with a bright, yet clean, lime green. A simple checkmark was placed over the “I” was paired with a clean Sans Serif font. To improve the flow, the tagline was also slightly altered. The study predicts outcomes that may occur utilizing sexually and gender minorities (SGM) as the independent variable and dependent variables like age, income, experiencing foster care and/or homelessness, and race as predictors. We hypothesized that SGM youth who were in the foster care system had higher odds of experiencing homelessness as adults. The sample population was recruited on SGM subreddit groups and among those that responded, 1330 participants, 1316 was the actual analyzed participants. After conducting chi2 tests with adjusted odds ratio (AOR), our data reflected a positive correlation between SGM youths that were in foster care and SGM adults …

Experiencing violence in childhood is an all too common occurrence, especially in sexual and gender minority communities. It can be hard to dictate predictors of these such occurrences, which is the focus of our study. A survey regarding many different experiences members of these communities can have was taken by 1316 people via Reddit. Out of these participants, 309 reported experiencing some form of violence in their childhood. Among the demographic information taken for the survey, none had a significant correlation besides education. Objectives: Sexual and gender minorities (SGMs) frequently experience discrimination, often manifesting as poor mental health. Literature suggests self-compassion improves mental health among SGMs. Yet, no research has examined the relationship between everyday discrimination and poor mental health among SGMs, and whether self-compassion moderates the relationship. Methods: Data from 1,292 adult SGMs in the U.S. were recruited from Reddit in 2022. SGM identity was measured to account for intersecting identities comprised of sexual minority assigned male at birth (AMAB), sexual minority assigned female at birth (AFAB), gender minority AMAB, and gender minority AFAB. The Bricks from Recyclables team is dedicated to designing and constructing an eco-friendly concrete brick that incorporates plastic to tackle the issue of plastic waste in the environment. The sponsor, Samadhi Yoga Retreat, plans to use this innovative product as a building material on-site to recycle and repurpose plastic, thereby eliminating the impracticality of transporting plastic waste to a recycling center in the remote location.

This project will explore the impacts of several traffic safety countermeasures and roadway design changes on pedestrian safety along the Central Avenue corridor of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The motivation behind this research is the communities concern for the increase in pedestrian fatalities in the US and specifically New Mexico. Research suggests that support offered by an instructor can have a significant impact on the student experience, both in terms of classroom performance and affective well-being. Research also suggests that there are different types of support that instructors can offer (e.g., emotional support, instrumental support, informational support, and appraisal support). Although such research suggests that students perceive and are affected by these different types of support in different ways, there does not appear to be research surrounding the decision-making process behind instructors offering the support or the extent to which social support is a priority for them in the classroom. …

Mandatory arbitration clauses in employment contracts are standard, limiting legal remedies available to employees who are sexual harassment and sexual assault victims and serving as a potential barrier to justice. However, the rise of the 2017 #MeToo movement revealed the prevalence of sexual harassment and assault, triggering lawmakers to focus on legal reforms for these areas in the workplace.

The inability of the current techniques to identify patients in the preclinical stage of Alzheimer's disease, which can persist up to ten years before clinical symptoms appear, makes early detection of the condition difficult. Several studies have shown the potential of the cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers amyloid beta 1-42, T-tau, and P-tau in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. Based on the levels of these cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers, we employed machine learning models in this study to categorize various phases of Alzheimer's disease. Lungs are a prototypical trait of most tetrapods, but some amphibians have become secondarily lungless over evolutionary time. Anuran (frog) tadpoles offer an opportunity to examine lung loss from an evolutionary perspective, because there are many independent instances where lungs are not inflated until adulthood, and so are functionally lost. Lung loss is typically associated with living in fast-flowing streams, and so we examined larval lung development in the stream specialist family Heleophrynidae. We find that one genus, Hadromophryne Van Dijk, 2008, has large lungs as tadpole, while the other genus, Heleophryne Sclater, 1898, has much smaller, stunted lung buds. …

Not only with population health, but with health equity, health care quality, and lower health care expenditure - a pretty good definition of value. Yet, there is a paradox about primary care. Music's effect on non-musical domains has been an area of intense research. Musical training has been shown to positively affect the processing of phonology, lexical tone, and syntax. While music also has positive effects in second language phonology acquisition, its effect on grammar acquisition is contested. This thesis aimed to study the under-researched topic of music and second language grammar acquisition using electroencephalography (EEG), thereby studying the electrical responses of the brain.
