The Luddites, a reactionary conservative movement comprised of middle-class artisans, violently rejected the use of modern technologies because it threatened their economic opportunities. The Luddites’ middle-class constituency ultimately led to its failure, alienating themselves from the economic concerns of the working class and the nobility. Additionally, their violent protests made them unpopular to the British government. An online survey provided insight regarding problems associated with inattentive respondents when collecting primary data using an Internet interface. Rather than open-access, respondents were part of a commercially maintained consumer panel. Inattentive respondents were identified using three quality control checks: an instructional manipulation, a common knowledge question, and a time check. Of the 1,452 respondents who completed the 83-question survey, 511 respondents (35.19%) failed at least one quality control check; 59 (4.06%) failed all three. Deviations between inattentive and attentive respondents were identified. This experiment investigated the kinetics of 2-methylpentan-2-ol using UV-visible spectroscopy under strongly acidic conditions (96% sulfuric acid). The dehydration of the tert-amyl alcohol produced a carbocation intermediate whose absorbance at 300 nm was evaluated at various temperatures. An Arrhenius plot of ln(k) versus 1/T produced a linear relationship with a calculated activation energy of 90.0 kJ/mol. This value is consistent with literature expectations for tertiary carbocation formation and supports the acid-catalyzed dehydration mechanism predicted for this molecule.

Music taste is highly complex, influenced by factors of age, personality, familiarity, and musical training. While any studies have researched trends of preference for popular music genres and general classical music, few have broken the classical genre into its stylistically unique historical periods. This study examines the differences in preference for six historical music eras—Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist, and 20th century—between classically trained and non-trained individuals. Musicians were expected to show a higher overall preference for classical music and a narrower preference range between eras than that of non-musicians. This research utilizes a Polar Beat redesign to address exclusionary "sporty" aesthetics that can exclude 300 million colorblind users. Based in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), the study implements WCAG AA standards and color-blind-verified filters to mitigate data loss during Situational Induced Impairment (SIID), when high-intensity exercise compromises cognitive and visual processing. By optimizing user journeys for Paralympic and geriatric archetypes, this work demonstrates that accessibility is the essential bridge transitioning mobile fitness apps into viable, inclusive instruments for clinical medical use.

Our research presents Indexed Concatenation (I-Cat) notation as a structured way to represent numbers with repeating patterns, including both decimals and whole numbers. Instead of treating expressions like 0.333... or 735735735 as unstructured expansions, they are rewritten as compact repeating objects called I-Cats. The presentation demonstrates how arithmetic operations, including addition and multiplication, can be performed using hypothesized rules such as the "U = M/C" method, unpacking, and carry propagation. College students frequently incorporate breaks of various types into their study sessions; however, limited research has examined how different types of breaks affect memory retention. The proposed study will examine how exercising, spending time on social media, or participating in quiet rest affect delayed recall among undergraduate college students. The study predicts that students who participate in an exercise break will show improved memory retention, while students who are exposed to social media will experience reduced memory retention. Our study aimed to examine the use of AI among college students and professors and to illuminate general beliefs and perspectives on AI. We predicted that older generations would exhibit a more conservative view and use of AI, whereas younger students may be more liberal and open to its usage. The proposed study will examine whether distracting, negatively-valenced auditory stimuli will replicate the eyewitness phenomenon. A group of 36 undergraduate students from Southern Adventist University (SAU) will be gathered using stratified sampling methods. To represent SAU’s undergraduate population, nine students from each year will be selected and randomly assigned to the control or intervention groups. Depending on their assignment, the participants will watch a video with no auditory stimulus or watch a video with negatively-valenced charged auditory stimuli. After the video, the participants will be given an identification assessment to measure memory.

Individuals have shown marked levels of confirmation bias, particularly in religious beliefs. This study investigated whether generating oppositional arguments to a pre-established belief about women’s ordination reduces the tendency to produce biased credibility and strength ratings of AI-generated essays for or against the practice. Additionally, it explored how attribution of the essays to a religious authority figure would impact the level of bias. It was hypothesized that participants in the counterargument condition would display reduced confirmation bias, and the authority condition would either exacerbate or reduce a person’s preexisting level of bias.

Physics: The GCI #18 J-Groove Manifold accelerates the pressurized slurry through a Tungsten Carbide Venturi Nozzle. Water and steam flow through porous rock, transferring heat via conduction and buoyancy-driven convection caused by density differences. Traditional numerical methods (finite-volume/finite-element) model this well but can become memory-intensive and unstable for long, high-detail simulations. This work demonstrates a Physics-Informed Neural Network (PINN) using a finite-difference approach within the NVIDIA PhysicsNeMo framework to simulate magma chambers in 2D. Tested on the Rio Pisco pluton in Peru, results are compared with the USGS HYDROTHERM model. PINNs learn from physical laws, offering accurate, flexible solutions with less data and development effort.

This Addendum formally discloses two novel extensions to the ALLFROMAIR® TERRA² Tri-Generation Platform. The disclosures are presented with thermodynamically verified calculations for two primary climate scenarios: Desert (40°C/30%RF) and Tropical Max (40°C/80%RF).

The first disclosure — SVRU4 Cascade Condensation — establishes a fourth condenser unit (SVRU4), constructed identically to SVRU1, positioned at the exhaust of Module 2 after SVRU3. SVRU4 condenses water from the moisture-saturated exhaust stream (32–34°C/100%RF) using seawater or a night-cooled buffer as cold medium. This paper presents a derivation of the Klein-Gordon-Fock equation from first principles. The proposed method eliminates the need to axiomatically postulate wave functions or equation coefficients. Instead, the derivation is performed on an adiabatically variable manifold, locally described by the Friedman-Robertson-Walker metric, incorporating complete electrodynamics. In this framework, the transverse electromagnetic field quantizes due to adiabatic changes in the metric tensor, with Planck's constant serving as its adiabatic invariant.
