Diagnostic Reasoning and Differential Diagnosis (DD) are increasingly vital in occupational therapy (OT) practice as direct access legislation expands evaluative responsibilities for occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs). Despite this need, little research has explored how OTPs understand and apply diagnostic reasoning in clinical contexts. This study examined processes, strategies, and perceived barriers and facilitators influencing OTPs’ engagement in diagnostic reasoning and DD across diverse settings. A national online survey of licensed OTPs collected quantitative and qualitative data on knowledge, confidence, training, interprofessional collaboration, and clinical behaviors. Graduate healthcare students often experience high levels of stress that disrupt occupational balance and participation in meaningful roles. This exploratory mixed-methods study examined graduate healthcare students’ perceptions of stress, coping strategies, and university-provided resources at Governors State University using an occupational therapy perspective. Twenty-four students from the College of Health and Human Services completed an online survey with Likert-scale and open-ended questions addressing stressors, coping behaviors, resource awareness, and desired supports. Descriptive statistics, chi-square analyses, and thematic analysis were conducted. This study examined how stakeholders in an Adult Day Center for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) perceived their confidence, knowledge, and understanding of occupational therapy’s role in implementing Multi-Sensory Environment (MSE) strategies to support sensory needs. Adults with ID/DD commonly experience sensory processing differences that influence participation and engagement in daily activities; however, limited research exists on the use of MSE strategies in adult community-based settings. Guided by the Person–Environment–Occupation–Performance (PEOP) model and the Knowledge-to-Action (KTA) framework, this quantitative non-experimental study utilized a custom-designed survey to assess stakeholder perceptions across roles. Driver rehabilitation is an underrepresented specialization within occupational therapy despite its critical role in supporting individuals with physical, cognitive, or visual impairments to drive safely and maintain community mobility. The literature reveals limited inclusion of driver rehabilitation in OT curricula, minimal fieldwork exposure, and scarce driver rehabilitation programs, resulting in fewer certified specialists. Barriers to program development include insufficient funding, lack of institutional support, and limited equipment access. Consequently, new graduates lack knowledge, confidence, and competence in this specialty area, reducing service availability for clients who rely on driving for independence and participation. Older Adults And Emerging Technology Fraud In The Ai Deepfake Era, Thiago Neves

Artificial intelligence has accelerated faster than society's ability to adapt, leaving older adults extremely vulnerable to AI-generated fraud. Americans over age 60 lost $4.9 billion to scams in 2024, 43% more than the previous year. In this research, I investigate how digital illiteracy, combined with AI-generated deepfakes, creates this crisis. Older adults struggle with three principal vulnerabilities: distinguishing legitimate sites from scams, judging whether online information is truthful, and understanding how algorithms use their data. Accurate estimation of interface orientation is crucial for ensuring both the accuracy and robustness of Volume of Fluid (VOF) schemes in multiphase flow simulations, especially when using non-uniform Cartesian meshes. Conventional gradient reconstruction approaches, such as least-squares (LSQ) methods, often suffer from significant errors and strong oscillations on highly stretched grids. This thesis proposes a grid-transferable, learning-based methodology that predicts interface unit normal vectors directly from the local volume-fraction field on non-uniform structured Cartesian grids by means of a compact feedforward neural network.

This presentation brings to life key findings from a recent literature review on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to support literacy development for multilingual learners with disabilities. Drawing on emerging research in special education, biliteracy, translanguaging, and AI-supported instruction, the session situates AI within a human-centered, justice-oriented framework rather than as a replacement for teacher expertise. The ideas shared are grounded in scholarship on translanguaging, Universal Design for Learning, and linguistic justice, providing a research-informed foundation for practice. For over fifty years, the federal government has restricted indecent content on broadcast television, to prevent children from being exposed to it. One of the primary justifications for regulating broadcast indecency is the ease with which children could access broadcast content. The justifications for regulating indecency, however, do not apply to cable or streaming television, and as a result, neither do the regulations. However, the television marketplace has radically changed since the U.S. Supreme Court first upheld the authority of the government to regulate broadcast indecency in 1970. Student-Athlete “Cyberbullying” And Its Absence Of Legal Recourse, Ethan Lamb

The NCAA’s ongoing “Draw the Line” campaign raises awareness to end online abuse related to sports betting, racism, sexism, and other categories which student-athletes increasingly face. However, this awareness does not force abusers to stop, nor have student-athletes ever challenged abusers under relevant criminal law for three reasons. First, it is difficult for law enforcement to identify anonymous digital suspects under the Fourth Amendment. Second, “cyberbullying,” “cyberstalking,” and other relevant statutes have limited application towards student-athletes. Third, defendants hold established content-based and overbreadth challenges to those statutes under the First Amendment. As these compounding issues give student-athletes no legal recourse …
