Luis Geronimo de Oré's 1619 account of the 1597 "Juanillo's Revolt" "relies heavily on the captivity narrative of Florida Franciscan mission Fray Francisco de Ávila. The only friar left alive after the revolt, the narrative takes place during Ávila's ten-month imprisonment in Florida's interior pueblo of Tulufine."

Letters patent were legal documents normally issued by a head of state to grant something to the recipient, such as money, a title, or a right. This one was issued to William Blackstone (Blaxton), of Gibside in County Durham, squire to Sir Nicholas Tempest, Knight, also of County Durham, and a Mr. Chapman, of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, during the reign of James I/IV. The purpose of the document is unknown. William Blackstone went on to become the first European settler of Boston and Rhode Island, in 1625. John Fletcher (1579-1625) was a contemporary of William Shakespeare and followed him as main playwright for the King’s Men. The Faithful Shepherdess (produced in 1608, probably published in 1609) is also important for Fletcher’s definition of tragicomedy, which highlights the importance of near-death to the genre.

This is a text by English lawyer Nicholas Fuller, published in the year 1607. The writings detail the legal case of Thomas Lad and Richard Maunsell vs. the Ecclesiastical Commissioners who charged the men with refusing to take the ex officio oath. Fuller sets out to prove, through this text, that the Ecclesiastical Commissioners do not have the power to imprison individuals, as they did with Lad and Maunsell. Fuller makes five points in his argument to prove stance.

Cyril Tourneur (1575-1626) was an English dramatist, a contemporary of Shakespeare; Tourneur was also a soldier and politician. The Revenger’s Tragedy (1607), as its name implies, is a revenge tragedy, and comments on the battle to avenge the destruction by the giants that lead to the brothers’ deaths. Literary critics now believe that the play was written by Thomas Middleton (1580-1627).

This pamphlet was printed in the year 1604 in London by Richard Field for a fellow named Thomas Chard. It is encompassed of forty-eight pages that are discolored and stained from time. The title is a statement of what the pamphlet will be about: the necessity of a happy union between England and Scotland. It is addressed to the King James who is king of England, Scotland, France, and Ireland. The final four pages with text are of "The Objections." The author discusses four 'objections': common reason, law, intercourse, and reputation.

All Medieval churches were required to own both a Gradual and an Antiphonal. The recto contains a small mark in the right margin, next to verse four of Psalm 67 to signal fit reverentia, or 'all bow.' The Roman pagination in the upper right corner of both leaves (CXXXVIII and XCIX) indicates them as coming from pages 138 and 99 of the full Gradual.
