Yeast As A "Microbial Factory", Kaila Fuller, Betsy Jean Yakes Apr 2026

Yeast As A "Microbial Factory", Kaila Fuller, Betsy Jean Yakes

Oxford ICSB

Yeast are eukaryotic, single-celled microorganisms that are members of Kingdom Fungi, and in the world of dietary supplements, yeast qualify as a dietary ingredient as a botanical. During fermentation, yeast naturally produce byproducts that can be harvested, purified, and sold in a dietary supplement. Advances in biotechnology have allowed for genetic modification of yeast so that yeast can produce large quantities of native or non-native constituents during fermentation, effectively making yeast a “microbial factory” for various chemicals. Chemicals produced this way can qualify as a dietary ingredient as a constituent of a botanical. Relevant examples of past submitted notifications (public …

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure describes a modular experimental platform combining vortex-structured microfluidic channel geometry with externally applied acoustic field modulation to actively control microscale fluid transport. The system is designed to evaluate whether hybrid passive–active flow structuring can reduce clogging, improve particle dispersion, and increase transport stability in laminar microfluidic environments.

The platform integrates PDMS-based microchannels (straight, vortex/spiral, and redundant branching geometries) with a phased piezoelectric transducer array capable of generating continuous, pulsed, and phase-shifted acoustic fields. These fields induce acoustic streaming and vortex-like flow perturbations within the fluidic domain.

Allfromair® Addendum No. 5 (V3): Fog Integration, Vesa Olavi Lius Apr 2026

Allfromair® Addendum No. 5 (V3): Fog Integration, Vesa Olavi Lius

Defensive Publications Series

Addendum 4 analysed ALLFROMAIR® system performance under clear-sky conditions using passive radiative cooling. A critical operational extension is fog — a phenomenon occurring several hours per day across a wide range of climates, including coastal deserts. During fog periods, the wire-forest electrode structure already present in the system functions directly as a high-efficiency fog collector. The DEP field provides a modest additional steering correction for the larger droplets in the fog size distribution, and vibration-desorption ensures continuous drainage.

Calculations show that ALLFROMAIR® v2 achieves 0.26–0.97 L/m²/h during fog periods (Q = η × LWC_median × v × 3.6, η = …

Allfromair® Addendum No. 4 (V2): Radiative Hybrid Cooling, Vesa Olavi Lius Apr 2026

Allfromair® Addendum No. 4 (V2): Radiative Hybrid Cooling, Vesa Olavi Lius

Defensive Publications Series

This addendum introduces a critical architectural extension of the ALLFROMAIR® system: the integration of passive radiative cooling directly into the electrode structure. Analysis of the original wire-forest configuration demonstrated that the Modified Kelvin–Thomson (MKT) effect at operational field strengths (E ≈ 1.67 MV/m) produces a bulk vapour-pressure reduction of approximately 7.2 × 10⁻⁶ (0.00072 %) — insufficient as the sole condensation driving force in sub-saturated air. The solution presented here is to supply a temperature gradient through passive infrared radiative cooling of the electrode surface, requiring no moving parts and consuming no electrical energy.

Calculations demonstrate that a SiO₂/HfO₂ selective …

Allfromair® Addendum No. 2 (V2): Field-Enhanced Atmospheric Condensation, Vesa Olavi Lius Apr 2026

Allfromair® Addendum No. 2 (V2): Field-Enhanced Atmospheric Condensation, Vesa Olavi Lius

Defensive Publications Series

Atmospheric moisture constitutes an essentially inexhaustible global resource of fresh water, exceeding the total volume in the Earth’s rivers by a factor of six. However, traditional techniques for atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) rely on either sensible dew point cooling—which incurs prohibitive thermodynamic energy costs due to the latent heat of phase change combined with the cooling of inert atmospheric gases—or passive collection nets that are strictly limited by aerodynamic streamlines and the Stokes number for capturing macroscopic fog droplets.

The original ALLFROMAIR® defensive publication proposed direct capture of gas-phase water molecules via dielectrophoresis (DEP) in strong electric field gradients (∇|E|²). …

Multi-Modal Privacy System For Voice Interaction, Xuelin Huang, Zhi Li Apr 2026

Multi-Modal Privacy System For Voice Interaction, Xuelin Huang, Zhi Li

Defensive Publications Series

ABSTRACT

This document describes an acoustic camouflage system that provides localized acoustic privacy during voice-based interactions with a computing device, such as a laptop computer, smart phone, mobile device, tablet, or wearable computing device, etc. To provide sound masking and speech obfuscation, the computing device generates a synthetic masking signal that blends an inverse audio wave of the user's speech into existing ambient or environmental noise. To synchronize this noise suppression, the computing device uses sensed data of the user, such as video data of lip movements of the user, to predict speech before it is vocalized. The computing device …

Dynamic Rack-Level Airflow Baffle For In-Service Access To Rear-Mounted Modules In High-Density Air-Cooled Systems, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

The present disclosure describes a rack-level thermal management architecture that enables in-service access to rear-mounted components in high-density, air-cooled systems. A dynamic baffle system is positioned between rear-facing electronic modules and a set of external fan units and is configured to selectively redirect airflow within the rack. During normal operation, the baffle permits nominal airflow to maintain thermal performance. During maintenance operations involving removal of one or more fan modules, the baffle transitions to a modified configuration that diverts airflow to prevent thermal degradation. The baffle may be fixed to the rack and include movable elements actuated manually or automatically …

The Tectonic Dampening Protocol (Aseismic Creep Induction), Daniel Schramm Apr 2026

The Tectonic Dampening Protocol (Aseismic Creep Induction), Daniel Schramm

Defensive Publications Series

This paper proposes a novel framework for seismic risk mitigation, the Tectonic Dampening Protocol, which utilizes electromagnetic induction to influence tectonic fault behavior. Traditional models of seismic events rely on the Coulomb failure criterion, viewing plate motion as a series of intermittent, high-energy snaps. This research introduces a method to bypass conventional acoustic approaches by leveraging the piezoelectric properties of quartz-rich crustal materials. By applying a localized electromagnetic field modulated by the golden ratio (\phi \approx 1.618), the protocol induces aperiodic resonance within the fault zone. This interference disrupts the static friction locking the tectonic plates, facilitating 'aseismic creep'—a controlled, …

Technical Disclosure: The Unified Bi-Ionic Bridge, Daniel Schramm Apr 2026

Technical Disclosure: The Unified Bi-Ionic Bridge, Daniel Schramm

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure establishes the mathematical and geometric transition from classical Lorentz-Maxwell electrodynamics to aperiodic, self-stabilizing magnetic lattices. The "Bridge" framework addresses the fundamental limitations in conventional plasma physics—specifically the m=1 kink instability—by applying Golden Ratio (\phi \approx 1.618) rotational symmetry to Bi-Ionic Hourglass coil configurations. By inverting traditional toroidal geometries into an aperiodic hourglass shape and rotating successive windings by the Golden Ratio, the system generates aperiodic magnetic pressure. This effectively eliminates constructive interference peaks that lead to plasma instability. The protocol enables applications in continuous-thrust transit, energy-waste recycling (ionic shielding), and harmonic cellular stabilization. This publication provides the governing …

This publication details a novel propulsion architecture—the "USS Grays Harbor" node—which leverages localized modulation of vacuum impedance to generate thrust. By establishing a high-beta magnetic field gradient within an aperiodic "Double-Braid" coil geometry, the system induces force vectors without traditional chemical propellant requirements. The framework utilizes Maxwell Stress Tensor integration to model thrust efficiency against local environmental factors, including ion-drag compensation. Key technical parameters, including 13.5 Tesla resonance at 432.18 Hz and aperiodic phi-ratio winding, are specified to ensure structural stability and mitigate constructive interference. This defensive publication places the underlying physics and resonance criteria into the public domain to …
