GCI-286 “Ariadne’s Braid” describes a structured multimode optical communication architecture in which modal coupling is intentionally engineered rather than suppressed. The system combines wavelength-division multiplexing, dual-polarization encoding, and low-order spatial modes within a controlled propagation medium designed to produce a repeatable and bounded channel matrix. Instead of relying on ideal mode isolation, the receiver estimates the channel response and reconstructs transmitted signals using regularized digital signal processing techniques.

Access control in database-backed systems conventionally uses separate mechanisms for read and write paths: read-path filtering (row-level security, query rewriting, view predicates) paired with write-path per-row post-image checks (e.g. SQL WITH CHECK OPTION) or ad-hoc application logic. The two specifications drift apart; per-row write checks miss indirect effects from triggers, referential cascades, derived-data maintenance, and secondary-index side effects; and externalized authorization services introduce staleness hazards.

An all-boys secondary Jesuit Catholic school in the Midwest, recently transitioned to a rotating block schedule with the goal of supporting deeper learning for all students. Though the transition to longer class meetings helped achieve this goal, less frequent class meetings presented a new challenge in that it tended to exacerbate the natural “forgetting curve.” Retrieval practice, one of the most widely cited high-impact learning strategies to boost student memory, is most beneficial when used alongside spaced practice. The study found that students exhibit high levels of resilience and spiritual intelligence, suggesting that faith-based beliefs are crucial in students’ ability to cope with adversity. This study aimed to understand effective school principals’ perceptions of their leadership of Catholic schools. It focuses on Catholic schools with student populations of fewer than 150 students and addresses which attributes of their successes may be replicable for other small Catholic elementary school leaders, with focused attention on operational vitality. It is a phenomenological, qualitative research study accomplished through interviews with Catholic school principals whose schools have seen success during their period of leadership.

An analysis of science in Cuba is carried out using data from the OpenAlex database. Examples are developed: agriculture, rice, technology in relation to the current situation: national food supply, energy and medicine. The predominance of research in biology and medicine and the low commitment in the fields of agriculture, energy, medicinal plants and technology are highlighted. Various development schemes are proposed.
