Bioarchaeological research often uses skeletal remains to reconstruct patterns of activity and labor in past populations. This study examines potential sex-based differences in long bone morphology among individuals from the Classic Maya sites of Chac Balam and San Juan on Ambergris Caye, Belize. These coastal communities participated in maritime trade networks, and daily activities such as cargo transport, canoe travel, and fishing may have placed distinctive mechanical stresses on the skeleton. The goal of this study was to evaluate whether measurable differences in bone structure between males and females reflect differences in habitual activity patterns.

This study examines how media coverage of the initial Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022 influenced public opinion and policy discourse in the United States through the lens of the CNN Effect, agenda-setting, and framing. Focusing on the initial reporting is important because it captures a moment of high uncertainty, when audiences and policymakers were most reliant on journalistic framing to interpret the conflict that is still ongoing today. Concrete Crumbles examines instability within contemporary American political and social life through photography, collage, and installation. Using construction zones and damaged infrastructure as primary subject matter, the project investigates how material transformation and fragmentation can function as metaphors for political precarity, media saturation, and the erosion of civic stability. Photographs are printed on copy paper, physically cut, rearranged, collaged, and scanned into unstable compositions that resist fixed perspective and seamless representation. These processes emphasize labor, impermanence, and reconstruction while challenging photography’s traditional association with objectivity and permanence.

Background: Vaccine hesitancy is a complex global issue, exacerbated by pandemics and social media. In addition to hesitancy, state policies loosening childhood vaccine requirements and alternative vaccination schedules may contribute to recent vaccine-preventable illness outbreaks in the United States. In South Dakota alone, kindergarten vaccination rates have gradually declined over the past decade. Introduction: Previous research has found that the calcineurin-mediated immunosuppressants cyclosporine A (CsA) and tacrolimus inhibit binge alcohol drinking in mice. Further research has shown that this effect is mediated directly in brain, as intracerebroventricular administration also significantly decreases drinking. As these immunosuppressants have severe systemic toxic effects along with dangerous inhibition of immune function, our goal is to determine proximal mechanisms by which these immunosuppressants are working in order to develop effective treatments for alcohol use disorder (AUD) with fewer side effects. Nanostructured metal sulphides are gaining attention as potential materials for resistive chemical sensors due to their high electrical conductivity and chemical stability compared to metal oxides. Among these, tungsten disulfide (WS₂), a transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD), stands out because of its distinctive electrical, optical, and mechanical properties. In this study, WS₂ thin films were synthesized on glass substrates using the spray pyrolysis technique. Structural and electrical characterizations revealed a highly porous, granular morphology with nanoparticle agglomerations, as observed through FESEM. XRD analysis confirmed a well-crystallized hexagonal WS₂ phase with an average crystallite size of 35.81 nm. The films exhibited a …

This paper presents a self-analysis aimed at deepening self-awareness and understanding how personal history, personality, and lived experience shape the development of a counselor-in-training. Using an integrative framework, it examines relational, academic, mental health, physical health, cultural, and developmental influences on identity and professional growth. Multiple methods were used, including personality and interest assessments, interviews with significant others, and theoretical conceptualization grounded in psychodynamic, person-centered, and somatic approaches. Findings revealed consistent themes of responsibility, introspection, and relational attunement, with feedback highlighting emotional safety and reliability. Dementia is a progressive neurodegenerative condition associated with significant changes in communication, which can have profound effects on an individual’s autonomy, self-identity and quality of life. Rising global dementia rates underscore the urgent need to address these issues and expand approaches to care. This literature review examines current research on songwriting methods in music therapy for those living with dementia and investigates how songwriting might support communication for that population. Algae pigments support the growth of these photosynthetic organisms, converting light energy into chemical energy. Two pigments present in all three groups of macroalgae are chlorophyll a and -carotene, both of which have uses in cosmetics, food, and medicine. This study examined pigment concentrations of collected species at three recreational beaches in the Long Island Sound from November 2025 to February 2026. In the United States, probation is the most commonly imposed criminal sentence, necessitating an abundance of probation officers (POs) to serve the system. Given high rates of failed reentry in tandem with high rates of recidivism, there have been calls for a reevaluation of post-conviction supervision systems and strategies, including the PO. The PO is the final form of assistance provided by the criminal justice system to those facing reentry and can heavily impact a client’s likelihood of recidivism.
