Purpose: The student-to-college/university relationship is akin to the buyer-seller relationship in marketing. Buyers vary based on their level of involvement (i.e. engagement), motivation, attitudes, and expectation of the buying experiences. Sellers, on the other hand, work to create a brand message and to share that message with existing and prospective customers. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors that impact the perceptions of service quality held by current students in higher education.

This article proposes a destination-planning framework for conceptualizing a Virtual African American Heritage Trail in Georgetown County, South Carolina. Located within the coastal region of South Carolina and between the major tourism markets of Charleston and Myrtle Beach, Georgetown contains a historically rich but spatially dispersed landscape of African American heritage sites that remain underrepresented in regional tourism promotion.

Current Expected Credit Losses (Cecl): The Impact Of Accounting Standards Codification 326 On Lending Institutions, Douglas K. Schneider, Mark Mccarthy

The manuscript describes the financial reporting impact on lenders of a new accounting rule, referred to as CECL, for current expected credit losses. Starting in 2020 all lending institutions that issue GAAP financial statements are required to apply the new CECL accounting method for recognizing credit losses. This new method is a departure from the former “incurred loss” accounting method that used information from past events and current conditions to estimate loan losses. SARS-CoV-2, the virus which caused the Covid-19 pandemic, likely jumped from bats into humans, canonically uses the protein ACE2 to infect cells. Recent studies found 22 possible human alternative receptors. However, it is unknown if these receptors are biologically significant to SARS-CoV-2 in vivo. Selective pressure between viruses and hosts often steer nucleotide changes in proteins, including viral receptors. Virus-driven natural selection is often evident in receptor evolution across related species. A signature of natural selection at virus-bound residues of an alternative receptor may indicate use by a virus. Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) can influence beam selection in next-generation wireless systems by shaping the channel conditions observed during beam sweeping. Prior work assumes deterministic beam sweeping, enabling Combinatorial Multi-Armed Bandits (CMAB) to learn beam-specific policies for geofencing. In this work, we evaluate the robustness of this approach under randomized beam sweeping, where the mapping between bandits and beam directions is disrupted episode by episode. Under these conditions, the learning algorithm no longer converges to a structured solution, instead behaving closely to a random policy, with higher variability and lower mean reward.
