Although the United States joined the Berne Convention in 1989, U.S. copyright law reflects a restricted approach to moral rights protection. Unlike many Berne signatories, the U.S. largely frames copyright as an economic right rather than as a way to protect artistic integrity. Japanese law, by contrast, treats moral rights as central to creative work protections, emphasizing the importance of the work’s dignity and author’s intent. This incongruity has significant consequences in the globalized era, particularly when foreign works are distributed within the U.S. Weak statutory moral rights protections leave authors vulnerable to misattribution and distortion without meaningful recourse. Virtual nursing programs have emerged as innovative solutions to address hospital operational challenges and workforce shortages. However, concerns remain about the potential for decreased human connection in telehealth environments. Limited evidence exists regarding virtual nurses’ perceptions of caring behaviors and their ability to develop therapeutic relationships through teleconferencing technology. Purpose: This exploratory study examined virtual nurses’ (ViRNs) perceptions of caring and identified strategies for fostering patient relationships in telehealth settings. Methods: A mixed-methods custom survey was distributed to 25 eligible ViRNs at Stanford Health Care, with 19 respondents (76% response rate). Parenting can be a stressful time. There are many factors that can influence how burdened a parent feels. The purpose of this study was to investigate the mental load of invisible labor household tasks undertaken by adult parents in the United States. This was accomplished by administering a survey that integrated a household task instrument to measure mental load and demographic information. The survey was distributed online via social media. Participants took the survey on Qualtrics. 161 participants responded to the survey. [Objective] To achieve the automatic sorting of citrus fruits. A smart sorting system combining machine vision algorithms and an intelligent camera is designed. [Methods] The system is composed of a detection room, an intelligent camera, a mirror, a lighting system and rollers (including conveyor belts). The intelligent camera is equipped with a microprocessor, which can capture and process images without a dedicated computer. [Objective] To propose an intelligent defect detection method based on an improved YOLOv7 model for the challenges of strong polymorphism in peanut surface defects and insufficient accuracy of traditional visual inspection methods. [Methods] A cross-channel attention mechanism is integrated to enhance local feature response. Then, a bidirectional feature pyramid is constructed to improve multi-scale defect fusion. Additionally, an angle constraint loss function is introduced to optimize irregular object localization. This study evaluates the effect of implementing an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system on workforce productivity and effectiveness in a financial institution (Mariner Finance, LLC). To evaluate these metrics, employees self-selected to participate in a survey that measures their general productivity sentiment, general effectiveness sentiment, user experience of the ERP system, and job satisfaction. This survey was given after the ERP system was implemented. Analysis of results from the survey provided insights into the ERP system's effect. Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS) is an analytical technique used to separate and identify compounds and is widely applied in forensic toxicology and controlled substance analysis due to its strong capabilities in detection, identification, and quantification. In this experiment, a method for analyzing acetaminophen was developed using mobile phases of 0.1% formic acid in water and 0.1% formic acid in methanol. Method development focused on adjusting elution time, mobile-phase gradient, and injection volume. The optimized method produced reliable analysis of acetaminophen across 100–7500 ng/mL. Brazil possesses the material resources, territorial size, and regional influence typically associated with global powers, yet remains excluded from recognition as one. This thesis examines how Brazil's leadership of the Global South has shaped and at times constrained its ambition to become more than a middle power. Using Wang and Chen's comprehensive national power measurements, it tracks Brazil's dramatic trajectory: a 72% increase in national power between 2005 and 2010, followed by a 43% decline by 2020. Addiction recovery is often understood as a clinical process, yet sustained sobriety depends equally on the reorganization of daily habits. Research on alcohol use disorders demonstrates that addictive behaviors are reinforced through spatial triggers and embodied routine. Synthergy is an online social deduction game designed to enable comparative analysis of how large language model-powered agents engage in social deduction and deception under conditions of asymmetric information. Inspired by social deduction games such as Town of Salem, Throne of Lies, and Mafia, the game consists of two factions, Harmony and Discord, to which agents are secretly assigned. Agents must infer others’ affiliations through dialogue, in-game abilities, and voting behavior. A fifth-order trigonometrically-fitted explicit two-derivative Runge–Kutta–Nyström method with an adaptive step size strategy, denoted as ATFRKN5, is proposed for efficiently solving second-order ordinary differential equations of the form u^″(x) = f(x, u(x)) that exhibit oscillatory behavior. The order conditions of the method are derived using Taylor series expansion, enabling the construction of two-derivative Runge–Kutta–Nyström schemes up to orders four and five. Trigonometric fitting is applied by incorporating the basis functions e^iλx and e^−iλx, λ ∈ ℝ, allowing the method to adapt naturally to problems with dominant frequencies. …
