Behavior contracts are frequently used in healthcare environments to manage behaviors labeled as disruptive; however, their use presents many ethical, legal, and practical concerns. This mixed-methods study examined behavior contracts through a social work lens, with particular attention to their impact on patient-centered care, professional ethics, and the patient–provider relationship. Based on the Person-in-Environment theory and core bioethical principles, the quantitative aspect of the study assessed healthcare social workers’ attitudes regarding the ethical implications of behavior contracts and their alignment with patient-centered care. This study examines how the Gandrung accompaniment song “Padha nonton” participates in processes of digital cultural sharing when circulated on YouTube. It employs a qualitative interpretive method within a netno‑pragmatic framework to analyse audience engagement as a culturally informed social practice. The findings show that the song’s linguistic features convey cultural scripts of invitation, togetherness, and communal spectatorship, reflecting the role of the Gandrung tradition in shaping shared social relationships and cultural values. Furthermore, the study identifies three interrelated processes: re-medialization, re-experiencing, and re-conception through which the performance extends beyond its original ritual context and becomes a shared …

Wayang, as a traditional performing art in Indonesia, continues to develop through various forms of experimentation. One example is the Wayang Lostang YouTube channel, developed by Samuel Indratma through the animation project Sintren, save the planet in collaboration with students from SMK Komputama Majenang. Distribution through YouTube indicates that the transformation of wayang is not merely visual but is also a collective cultural practice grounded in social relations, reflecting cultural commoning in the Indonesian context. This article analyses how commoning practices are mobilized to address ecological problems in Indonesia and highlights the contributions of youth and faith-based initiatives in the process, focusing on their inventive use of media, cultural, and religious forms. Based on two case studies of a community-run festival in Yogyakarta and a waqf forest project in Bogor, it traces how environmental activism becomes a vigorous arena for intersectoral collaboration, new communal imaginaries, and affective and spiritual reorientations. Liquid Modernity Off-Modernity: A Pop-Up Interior In The Middle Of Nowhere, Ayman Kassem

This visual essay examines the pop-up desert café as a contemporary interior condition shaped by mobility, reversibility, and performative occupation. Framed through Bauman’s (2000) liquid modernity and Branzi’s (2002) diffuse modernity, it argues that temporary desert setups are not informal exceptions but design responses to unstable, event-based ways of living. The essay reads the pop-up as a hybrid interior-exterior assemblage, where carpets, furniture, lighting, signage, and social rituals produce atmosphere and collective presence. Current discourse views design practice as an intuitive process rather than a knowledge-driven one. This project explores “play” as a creative and meaningful approach to communication in nonprofit work. As a Marketing and Development Intern at Overcomers International Fellowship Dream Center, I share stories of men rebuilding their lives after addiction and hardship, using creativity to bridge struggle and hope. Through storytelling, campaigns, and engagement, I have learned that communication can foster empathy, dignity, and connection. This experience has reshaped my understanding of play as an intentional, faith-driven practice. It reflects my growth as a communicator and my commitment to using creativity in the service of others and supporting transformational change.

As part of the community-engaged learning component of our Community Psychology course, our group partnered with the Benedictine Institute at CSB+SJU and St. Scholastica Convent in St. Cloud, Minnesota to explore the theme of radical hospitality. Across both sites, we examined how the Benedictine values including hospitality, respect for persons, listening, community living, and stability are lived out in everyday interactions. At the Benedictine Institute, we supported ‘Building Community’ events on Fridays that fostered connections among faculty and staff across roles and departments. Current inhibitors of this pathway often face the challenge of inherent and developed resistance. There is the need to further develop a targeted treatment therapy focused on inhibition of this signaling pathway. It is an important tool in biology and medicine, used for diagnosing disease (i.e., cancers, infections, inflammatory diseases, etc.) and studying organ structure and function. The goal of this poster is to compare preparation and staining techniques, specifically paraffin versus frozen sectioning methods, along with Masson’s trichrome versus hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining. The accumulation of non-recyclable thermoset plastic waste demonstrates a need for high- performance materials that bridge the gap between the reprocessability of thermoplastics and the durability required for industrial materials. Previous research has produced high-strength and recyclable hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) materials using boronic ester crosslinks, but the susceptibility of the Lewis acidic boron atom makes it vulnerable to hydrolysis which limits longevity in humid or aqueous environments. This personal narrative reflects on the loss of childhood pets and the lessons learned through grief, love, and healing. It explores the deep bond formed with two family dogs, the heartbreak of losing them to illness, and the emotional struggle of moving forward afterward. Through welcoming another dog into the family, the story reveals how love can continue without replacing the past. Ultimately, the piece conveys the idea that although loving a pet comes with the pain of eventual loss, the joy, companionship, and memories they bring make that love worthwhile.

This community-engaged learning project explored the impact of community support on the reintegration of previously incarcerated men through our volunteer work at the Overcomers International Fellowship (OIF) Dream Center. The Dream Center is a nonprofit organization that provides residents with housing, mental health support, education, and employment resources to help them transition back into society. As volunteers, we conducted empowerment interviews, reviewed case studies, and supported daily operations while building meaningful relationships with residents. Minnesota lakes have an invasive species problem: invasives are outcompeting our native plants and causing ecological degradation. Herbicides are used in Minnesota to help alleviate the stress that invasive plants put on the ecosystem, but continued use of herbicides has its own environmental downside. An analysis of five common aquatic herbicides including, diquat, endothall, 2,4-D, fluridone, and copper-based solutions was completed to find specific ecological downsides. Sediment degradation, effects on various fish life stages, zooplankton, and other non-target organisms were analyzed. This study offers alternative managements strategies and presents a decision tree to help lake associations manage invasive plants.

This quality improvement project examined the effect of music therapy and activity-focused interventions on fall rates in a memory care unit at a long-term care facility. The project was developed after staff identified falls as a major safety concern, with the memory care unit accounting for a disproportionate number of facility-wide falls. Through audits and observations, the team found that boredom, wandering, restlessness, and lack of meaningful engagement were common contributing factors to falls among residents with dementia. This thesis analyzes the behavior of a family of iterative root-finding methods, the Hansen-Patrick Family, which has a parameter, alpha, to create methods such as Newton’s methods, Halley’s method, and Euler’s method. By varying the parameter alpha, with both real and complex values, this project examines how the parameter can change convergence, divergence, and stability for different functions. This is shown by basin maps and Mandelbrot-like sets to visualize this behavior and classify points based on whether they converge to a root, diverge to infinity, or remain bounded without converging.

The antibiotic resistance crisis is an emerging global health threat. In 2019 alone, 1.27 million deaths were attributed to antibiotic-resistant pathogens, and researchers predict the problem will worsen without intervention. Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has become a primary model for this crisis because it utilizes genomic adaptations to bypass β-lactam antibiotics. Although temperate actinomycetes have historically provided the majority of clinical antibiotics, recent bioprospecting has revealed that extremophilic actinomycetes represent a critical untapped resource. These organisms exhibit several adaptations to thrive in extreme environments, which results in the production of novel secondary metabolites and resilient extracellular enzymes.
