Abstract Background: Neurodiagnostic (NDT) is the study and recording of electrical activity in the central and peripheral nervous systems, it is essential for providing critical information that can aid in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders. EEGs are the most frequently performed NDT procedures. The proportion of hospitalizations involving EEG use increased by 122.7% from 2003 to 2014, an average increase of 11.2% annually and continues to grow. The rate of rEEG use increased by 49.4% over 11 years (4.5% annually), while cEEG use increased by 302.3% (27.5% annually) (Bernheimer et al., 2018). Under existing law, the EEG profession …

This study explored employers’ perceptions of the hiring process and its implications for Black men without high school diplomas. Data were collected using qualitative methods, including semi-structured interviews and survey tools such as Prolific and Survey Monkey. Between August 2024 and May 2025, 232 applications were approved, with five rejected; 161 were returned and two timed out. Ultimately, 14 participants completed the study. In April 2025, the study was modified through Seton Hall University to recruit more Black participants. Although 22 individuals expressed interest, none completed the interviews. Nephrology referral has been recognized as a modifiable factor influencing patient outcomes (Cheng, 2025). This project aims to reduce delayed or missed CKD diagnoses at large suburban hospitals in north New Jersey by improving timely nephrology referrals. I used a mixed-methods approach, retrospective chart review, pre- and post-education surveys, and referral trend analysis to assess how an educational session affects nurse practitioner knowledge and nephrology referral behavior. Enhancing nurse practitioner (NP) awareness and decision tool usage may increase early kidney care for patients, leading to better outcomes (ISN-KDIGO, 2021; Van Mil et al., 2024).

Poet Emily Dickinson and Modernist poet Mina Loy’s works stand the test of time to create a striking religious and feminist narrative today. Dickinson’s poetry, which remained largely unknown in her lifetime, will come to wield great power in the feminist and religious spheres in the years following her death in 1886. Following in Dickinson’s footsteps, Loy’s poetry is direct and engaging in a more urgent message with her bold imagery and brash words. Perovskite structured mixed ionic electronic conductor (MIEC) materials formed as films by metal-organic precursor deposition have excellent electrochemical performance in solid oxide cell (SOC) air electrode applications due to the large surface area provided by the manufacturing approach. The relationship between Direct Support Professionals’ (DSPs’) attitudes toward trauma-informed care (TIC) and their turnover intention has remained empirically untested, despite DSPs’ exposure to primary and secondary trauma. An estimated 8.38 million Americans with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) depend on this workforce, yet 2024 turnover rates reach 53.7%. This convergent mixed methods study examined TIC attitudes, turnover intention, and their relationship among 109 DSPs in IDD provider agencies in New Jersey. Grounded in the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), the cross-sectional design used the ARTIC-10, TIS-6, and two open-ended items. DSPs with more favorable TIC attitudes were significantly less …

Teachers often manage challenging student behaviors without formal training in behavior analysis, which can increase stress and reduce instructional time. This study evaluated whether computer-based instruction (CBI) is an effective and cost-effective way to train early education teachers to understand why challenging behaviors occur and how to prevent them, using antecedent strategies. Ten general education teachers working in a private, neurodiverse-inclusive school participated. They completed a brief training delivered through computer modules developed in PowerPoint that taught them how to identify functions of behavior and select functionally equivalent antecedent strategies to decrease challenging behaviors. Outcomes of the student-college matching process have been shown to influence important postsecondary outcomes, including persistence, retention, and degree attainment. However, limited research has examined how matching outcomes operate for students with disabilities. This dissertation investigates student-college matching patterns for students with disabilities and compares the results with matching quality for students without disabilities. This qualitative study examined the factors influencing the post–high school experiences of immigrant English Language Learners (ELLs) in the United States. Fourteen recent high school graduates from the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Ecuador, and Peru participated in semi-structured interviews. Data was analyzed using grounded thematic coding within a social-ecological framework. The Gulf Coast Walleye (Sander vitreus) is a genetically unique Walleye population endemic to the southeastern United States and is increasingly threatened due to habitat loss. The current distribution of this population is poorly understood, especially in the upper Tombigbee River Basin in Mississippi. We developed an environmental DNA (eDNA) sampling method for Gulf Coast Walleye by modifying an existing quantitative PCR (qPCR) assay. Our assay tested highly sensitive for Walleye DNA and presented a minimal risk of cross-amplifying co-occurring nontarget species. We then applied the assay to samples from 26 streams in the upper Tombigbee Basin and positive controls. …

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly utilized in healthcare, including in language access services, but certain aspects remain understudied. We offer a research agenda to guide the development of evidence on how AI language access services are perceived by patients and how they impact trust and comprehension in clinical encounters, and to inform implementation strategies. We recommend a governance system to mitigate potential harm and capitalize on benefits for patients with a non-English language preference.

This study examines the role of informal language, including slang and popular culture references, as an instructional tool in secondary classrooms. Traditional teaching emphasizes academic language; however, research suggests that integrating informal communication can create stronger teacher-student relationships, increase student engagement, and improve learning outcomes. Using a survey of public secondary teachers in Southeast Kansas (n=47), this study investigates teacher perceptions of the benefits and drawbacks of incorporating informal language and measures their willingness to adapt when presented with evidence of best practices.
