Emotion regulation is defined as adjusting emotional responses to emotion-related stimuli in socially appropriate ways. Effective emotion regulation decreases the potential for social conflict and encourages helping behaviors that promote high-quality, supportive dyadic communications. Emotion regulation may impact the perception of available social support. Social support, or feeling cared by loved ones, also promotes mental health and an increased quality of life. Less clear is the extent to which skills in emotion regulation may contribute to perceptions of emotional support. Study drugs, often referred to as prescription stimulants, are drugs frequently misused on college campuses for purposes such as enhancing concentration, aiding study efforts, partying, weight loss, or alleviating negative mental health symptoms. Using these medications without a prescription for non-medical reasons poses significant risks and can have potentially fatal consequences. A primary source of stress among many college students is tests and exams, which makes many of them turn to the use of stimulants. Listening effort (LE) is a critical element of communication and quality of life. An objective way to measure LE is through pupil dilation, or pupillometry, via an eye tracker. As cognitive demands increase, the nervous system responds by increasing pupil dilation. In the case of a listening task, pupil dilation changes can be used to infer LE (Zekveld, Kramer, & Festen, 2010). While many studies test this methodology in adults, few studies have been done in children. Arthritis stands as a widespread chronic inflammatory condition, posing as the leading cause of persistent pain and functional limitations in older individuals. Given the growing diversity within the U.S. military veteran community, it becomes imperative to gauge the prevalence of arthritis. Among veterans in the United States, 34.7% of men and 31.9% of women were afflicted by arthritis. Notably, male veterans exhibited double the arthritis prevalence compared to nonveterans in the same age bracket, with a 30% higher prevalence observed among men aged 45–64. This study addresses the critical environmental issue of elevated nitrate levels in water bodies, primarily due to excessive use of nitrogenous fertilizers and improper waste disposal, leading to detrimental effects like eutrophication and health hazards such as blue-baby syndrome. Focusing on the necessity to reduce nitrate concentrations in polluted water to permissible levels, our research explores the effectiveness of hybrid materials in nitrate adsorption. We synthesized and studied nine distinct adsorbents using two processes: grafting and sol-gel techniques. Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are potentially traumatic events occurring before age 18 that have been identified as leading indicators of a myriad of negative health outcomes in adulthood. Specifically, ACEs have been linked to increased adult anxiety, depression, and difficulties in emotion regulation and to decreased perceived social support. These outcomes seem to be cyclic in nature and transmit intergenerationally. Since its founding, the cemetery has been divided into two separate sections; the “colored” cemetery and the “white” cemetery. This research explores how integrating Radiomics techniques—specifically leveraging 3D Slicer, Pyradiomics, and Python—can refine and optimize region of interest (ROI) segmentation and feature extraction processes for medical image analysis. In this study, we explored the role of Arabidopsis LTP12 protein in mitigating environmental stresses. Objectives: The aim of the study was to examine factors associated with a sense of community (SOC) among older adults aging in place in Northeast Tennessee. Background: Globally, tobacco is the leading cause of preventable diseases and death. In the United States, tobacco use accounts for over 480,000 deaths annually (including over 41,000 deaths due to secondhand smoke exposure) and $600 billion (about $1,800 per person in the US) in health care expenditures each year. Yet in Tennessee, almost one in five adults are current smokers, compared to the national prevalence of about one in ten. Background: A DPOAE signal must be detected in the presence of ambient acoustic noise and physiological noise arising from the patient. For testing in an unquiet environment, e.g., clinic offices or schools, attaining an advisable signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) is challenging. An effective noise reduction approach to detect DPOAEs uses weighted averaging by accepting quiet frames and applying a high weight to them while discarding frames with noise artifacts treated with low weight. We present a rare patient case of Stauffer syndrome (SS). SS manifests with many types of cancers including Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC). Historically named nonmetastatic nephrogenic hepatic dysfunction syndrome, manifesting with reversible anicteric transaminitis, elevated alkaline phosphatase, thrombocytosis, elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate, prolongation of prothrombin time, and in some cases hepatosplenomegaly in the absence of hepatobiliary obstruction; literature supports more than 100 cases of SS since its discovery in 1961. Most cases are associated with RCC with an incidence of 3% - 6% and soft tissue sarcomas or prostate cancer coming in second. SS was first described with renal cell …
