Background To reduce smoking and the harms it causes, countries, including the USA, are considering policies to reduce nicotine in combustible tobacco to minimally addictive levels. Effective messages about very low nicotine cigarettes (VLNCs) and this policy are crucial in combating misperceptions threatening the policy’s effectiveness.

Data and methods A discrete choice experiment assessed messages about VLNCs. Participants were 590 adults who smoked exclusively, 379 adults who both smoked and used e-cigarettes, 443 adults who formerly smoked and 351 young adults who never smoked (total n=1763). Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine middle and high school students’ cognitive and affective attitude and their cognitive-affective attitudinal structures toward physical education (PE). The effects of cognitive and affective attitude and attitudinal structures on physical activity (PA) in PE and outside of school were also examined. Methods: 1773 Chinese middle and high-school students participated in this study. SEM, Chi-square test, ANOVAs, and Contingency tables were adopted to address the research questions. Recent studies reveal a radial acceleration relation (RAR) in galaxies, which illustrates a tight empirical correlation connecting the observational acceleration and the baryonic acceleration with a characteristic acceleration scale. However, a distinct RAR has been revealed on brightest cluster galaxy (BCG) cluster scales with a seventeen-times-larger acceleration scale due to the gravitational lensing effect. In this work, we systematically explore the acceleration and mass correlations between dynamical and baryonic components in 50 BCGs. Our purpose in this research study was to examine perceptions of food and nutrition educators (FNEs, i.e., Registered Dietitians Nutritionists and Family and Consumer Science teachers) and young adults (ages 18–25) on the status of cooking and food skills among young adults. Using a cross-sectional survey design, FNEs (n = 93) and college-attending young adults (n = 270) in the United States completed electronic surveys. The qualitative and quantitative data were collected and analyzed using a convergent mixed-methods approach. This study aims to explore patient perspectives on how electronic health record (EHR) security protocols influence care quality and outcomes. In the context of methodology, an online survey was conducted in March 2024 with 10 participants from the USA who provided informed consent. Questions assessed experience with EHRs, security concerns, perceptions of authentication impacts, satisfaction with balancing priorities, and open-ended feedback. Descriptive analysis was used to identify key themes.

Most respondents had direct EHR exposure, which validated their viewpoints. Universal concerns co-existed with preferring digital records due to facilitated sharing when regulated appropriately. One-third reported occasional access issues correlating with …

OBJECTIVE: Elevated rates of gluconeogenesis are an early pathogenic feature of youth-onset type 2 diabetes (Y-T2D), but targeted first-line therapies are suboptimal, especially in African American (AA) youth. We evaluated glucose-lowering mechanisms of metformin and liraglutide by measuring rates of gluconeogenesis and β-cell function after therapy in AA Y-T2D.

METHODS: In this parallel randomized clinical trial, 22 youth with Y-T2D-age 15.3 ± 2.1 years (mean ± SD), 68% female, body mass index (BMI) 40.1 ± 7.9 kg/m2, duration of diagnosis 1.8 ± 1.3 years-were randomized to metformin alone (Met) or metformin + liraglutide (Lira) (Met + Lira) and evaluated before …

Background/significance: Due to increased RN turnover of 21.9% (benchmark 13.1%), the intensive care unit (ICU) division has hired seven times more new graduate nurses (NGN) than pre pandemic. The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) has become an essential aspect of the economy of the Bay Area. Through capital improvement projects, they have been able to adapt to the growth and demands of the community. To conduct my research, I looked at existing statistics and information on SFO’s website and the FAA. This information included the 5-year Capital Plan, the 2019 Economic Impact Study of San Francisco International Airport, the Annual Operating Budget, and Air Traffic Statistics. By analyzing the data, I found that SFO has a 72.7 billion-dollar impact on the total revenue in the Bay Area. This …

Diffuse midline glioma, H3 K27-altered (DMG-H3 K27) is an aggressive group of diffuse gliomas that predominantly occurs in pediatric patients, involves midline structures, and displays loss of H3 p.K28me3 (K27me3) expression by immunohistochemistry and characteristic genetic/epigenetic profile. Rare examples of a diffuse glioma with an H3 p.K28M (K27M) mutation and without involvement of the midline structures, so-called "diffuse hemispheric glioma with H3 p.K28M (K27M) mutation" (DHG-H3 K27), have been reported. Herein, we describe 2 additional cases of radiologically confirmed DHG-H3 K27 and summarize previously reported cases. The United States holds the highest teen birth rates among industrialized nations, presenting significant risks not only to teenage mothers in terms of education, employment, and health but also affecting their children and society at large. This study compares Mississippi and Massachusetts - the states with the highest and lowest teen birth rates, respectively - to explore the socioeconomic, educational, and legislative factors influencing these disparities. Through analysis of state-specific data and policies, the research identifies key drivers of teen pregnancy rates, including access to sex education, healthcare, and contraception, alongside cultural attitudes and economic conditions.

Research suggests that college student athletes experience more psychological and academic stressors than non-athletes. Therefore, it is prudent for universities to understand and plan to combat the psychological and academic risks that athletes experience. The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in four psychological outcomes (stress, anxiety, depression, and resilience) and one academic outcome (GPA) for athletes (N = 44) vs. non-athletes (N = 207). The hypothesis for the study is that there is a significant difference in educational outcomes between student athletes and non-athletes; however, there is no significant difference is psychological outcomes.
