To advance our comprehension of the complex geological history and mantle dynamics in the north atlantic region, we employ all available broadband seismic data recorded in greenland to reveal an abnormal mantle transition zone (mtz) structure. Central and eastern greenland exhibits depressed 410 and 660 km discontinuities (d410 and d660, respectively) bordering the mtz, indicative of a substantial thermal anomaly associated with an underlying plume, surpassing the 1,800°c threshold for post-garnet phase transitions at the d660. Variations in mtz thickness across greenland stem from differing temperature anomalies at the d410 and d660, possibly linked to a tilted plume within the …

Five High Entropy Carbide Ceramics, (Hf0.2,Nb0.2,Ta0.2,Ti0.2,Zr0.2)C, (Cr0.2,Hf0.2,Ta0.2,Ti0.2,Zr0.2)C, (Hf0.2,Mo0.2,Ta0.2,Ti0.2,Zr0.2)C, (Hf0.2,Ta0.2,Ti0.2,W0.2,Zr0.2)C, and (Hf0.2,Mo0.2,Ti0.2,W0.2,Zr0.2)C, Were Synthesized by Carbothermal Reduction of Oxides and Direct Current Sintering. the Five High Entropy Carbide Ceramics Were Determined to Be Nominally Phase-Pure with Relative Densities of More Than 98.9% and Mean Grain Sizes of Less Than 5 Μm. Average Vickers Hardness Values Ranged from 19.2 ± 0.4 GPa for (Hf0.2,Nb0.2,Ta0.2,Ti0.2,Zr0.2)C at a Load of 2 Kgf to 43.5 ± 0.4 GPa for (Hf0.2,Mo0.2,Ti0.2,W0.2,Zr0.2)C at a Load of 0.05 Kgf. Libraries Faculty and Staff Scholarship and Research

Involvement in faculty development is a promising approach to realizing academic libraries’ goals for information literacy. This study examines an inter-institutional program where librarians partnered with classroom instructors to create projects where students learned to use information in disciplinary ways. Using thematic analysis to examine participant materials, the findings suggest that the informed learning design model underpinning the program supported the creation of information-rich projects and fostered a sense of empowerment in librarians serving as faculty developers. Librarians can advance their role as educators by partnering with classroom instructors and presenting information literacy as a way to foster disciplinary learning.

When used as pump pulses in transient absorption spectroscopy measurements, femtosecond laser pulses can produce oscillatory signals known as quantum beats. The quantum beats arise from coherent superpositions of the states of the sample and are best studied in the Fourier domain using Femtosecond Coherence Spectroscopy (FCS), which consists of one-dimensional amplitude and phase plots of a specified oscillation frequency as a function of the detection frequency. Prior works have shown ubiquitous amplitude nodes and π phase shifts in FCS from excited-state vibrational wavepackets in monomer samples. Limited research has been completed on the sex-related differences in reaction time during hypoxic hypoxia. This is concerning due to the importance of reaction time during hypoxic hypoxia in aviation (particularly within the realm of military aviation). The purpose of this study was to examine the sex-related differences in reaction time during hypoxic hypoxia in university students. The study used a normobaric oxygen device to simulate hypoxic states and Delphi computer software to test reaction time. Subjects were physically active university students (10 females, 10 males). Alice Harnell was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1930, coinciding with the Great Depression. Harnell's father was born in Russia and emigrated with his family to New York City during the pogrom of the early 1900s. Once arriving in the United States they settled on the Lower East Side, joining a community of other Jewish immigrant families. Harnell's mother was the first American-born in her German family. Harnell's father and mother moved to Detroit for her father's job as a pharmacist. However, at the age of 5 the family moved back to New York City and settled in the West …
