Authentication Of A Real Physical Device Feeding A Digital Twin, Hp Inc May 2024

Authentication Of A Real Physical Device Feeding A Digital Twin, Hp Inc

Defensive Publications Series

The aim of this idea is to authenticate the data provided by a real device, used to feed its digital twin.

A digital twin is a virtual model designed to replicate a physical real object or process, built and updated from relevant real-time data obtained directly from the real object. Manipulating and testing that model is substantially cheaper, faster, and safer than modifying the physical component. It allows to optimize the outputs according to the goals before changing the physical component.

Given so, it is very important to feed the digital twin with reliable data so that it reflects the …

Heater Embedded Heat Sink/Cold Plate For Thermal Interface Material (Tim) Heating, N/A May 2024

Heater Embedded Heat Sink/Cold Plate For Thermal Interface Material (Tim) Heating, N/A

Defensive Publications Series

A phase change material (PCM) is used as thermal interface material (TIM) to mount a heat sink or cold plate on an electronic chip. The TIM can improve thermal conductivity and heat dissipation between the semiconductor chip and heat sinks. In the manufacturing process, the PCM is heated right after heat sink/cold plate installation during which it undergoes melting or softening, effectively filling the air gaps between the chip and the surface of the heat sink or cold plate. The heating of the PCM can be performed using passive heating or active heating, which requires wasteful heating of the entire …

Improving Quality Of Life In Menopausal Women Through A Best Practice Protocol: The Use Of Hormone Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Module And Exercise, Claire Czerwonka May 2024

Improving Quality Of Life In Menopausal Women Through A Best Practice Protocol: The Use Of Hormone Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Module And Exercise, Claire Czerwonka

Evidence-Based Practice Project Reports

Menopause is a normal process of aging, but many of the symptoms negatively impact women’s day-to-day quality of life (QOL), as well as activities of daily living, physical and mental health (ACOG, 2014). Generally, systemic estrogen hormone therapy is indicated for menopause-related vasomotor symptoms, but there is no research further addressing QOL issues or lifestyle management in addition to hormone therapy. The purpose of this evidence-base practice (EBP) project was to implement a menopause protocol to address QOL issues in menopausal women with the use of hormone replacement therapy, education through an online mindfulness module, and the use of exercise. …

What Can We Learn From Coaching To Apply To Teaching?, Binata Mukherjee, Emily Wilson, Amanada Arnold May 2024

What Can We Learn From Coaching To Apply To Teaching?, Binata Mukherjee, Emily Wilson, Amanada Arnold

CoTL 2024 Workshops

Physicians are tasked with the efficient delivery of high-quality care for patients while being able to learn from advances in medicine to address the ever-arising challenges in care delivery. Coaching in medicine may help learners for performance & development through self-awareness that enables self-directed lifelong learning. Self-directed learning requires metacognitive skills, in other words “thinking about thinking.” Traditional medical education rarely provides opportunities for introspection. Limited information is available regarding training medical faculty to coach. We explored the experience and perception of coaching after a training program. Data from three sources was analyzed in a mixed methods thematic analysis. Building …

Revitalizing Turtle Creek Park, Michael Hardyway, Ethan Harm, Abbey Jacoby, Casey Stephenson May 2024

Revitalizing Turtle Creek Park, Michael Hardyway, Ethan Harm, Abbey Jacoby, Casey Stephenson

Final Reports in ENST 411: Environmental Community Projects

We current ENST 411 students, Abbey Jacoby, Michael Hardyway, Ethan Harm, and Casey Stephenson have chosen to work with Jim Knight, East Buffalo Township, the Merrill Linn Land and Waterways Conservancy, and many others in an attempt to revitalize Turtle Creek Park for a plethora of reasons. Three of us are majoring in biology, and two are majoring in environmental science, which makes much of the information and techniques relevant in Turtle Creek applicable to our courses of study. This project included heavy hands on work which allowed us students to leave a memorable and impactful influence on the Lewisburg …

Bridging Usd Graduate Student Life And Mcnair Scholars Program: How To Enhance Mcnair Scholars’ Transition To Graduate School, Emily S. Esquivel May 2024

Bridging Usd Graduate Student Life And Mcnair Scholars Program: How To Enhance Mcnair Scholars’ Transition To Graduate School, Emily S. Esquivel

M.A. in Higher Education Leadership: Action Research Projects

Research has shown a need to support graduate students with intersecting identities (e.g., first generation, underrepresented). Further, there is little research on the transition of McNair students to graduate school. Therefore, the purpose of this project was to learn about how McNair students at the University of San Diego (USD) can navigate graduate school preparation with the support of Graduate Student Life (GSL). The research questions that guided this project were: (1) How can I collaborate with GSL to enhance support for USD McNair Scholars as they transition to graduate school? and (2) How can GSL support McNair Scholars’ sense …

Breaking Barriers And Cultivating Collaborative Partnerships For The Torero Renaissance Scholars Program, Ti'shaun Allen May 2024

Breaking Barriers And Cultivating Collaborative Partnerships For The Torero Renaissance Scholars Program, Ti'shaun Allen

M.A. in Higher Education Leadership: Action Research Projects

There is a high global demand for institutions to implement and maintain supportive programming for system-impacted students. System-impacted students are those who identify as former foster youth, homeless or at risk for homelessness, emancipated minors, or students in legal guardianships. My action research aimed to understand how to improve the Torero Renaissance Scholars (TRS) program model, delivery, and infrastructure to increase student engagement, program awareness, and partner collaboration at the University of San Diego (USD). TRS is a supportive program that assists students who are system-impacted. Findings from qualitative semi-structured 1:1 interviews, group conversations, and focus groups suggested increased employment …

Transitions Of Pa Safe-House Garden Bed, Christian Tait, Molly Garrahy, Lauren Mcdougal, Amanda Pennett

Final Reports in ENST 411: Environmental Community Projects

The non-profit organization, Transitions of PA allows those in crisis, particularly domestic abuse victims, to find support and resources through providing temporary residence at one of Transitions’ three safehouses. We have built a raised garden bed as a therapeutic resource for the Lewisburg safehouse guests, with principles of sustainable gardening in mind. The act of gardening becomes a form of therapy as the connection to the natural elements and intentionality behind sustainable gardening methods have significant mental health benefits. Beyond acting as a therapeutic activity, community gardening has been proven to support social connections and act as a pathway to …
