A Gift Not Given: An Examination Of Disproportionality For Black Students And Gifted Education Through The Lens Of Representation And Improvement, Casey Weiss

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Giftedness is a particular trait giving designation to a specific group of people in a school population. While identification methods vary from state to state, the status of being gifted is granted to some students, creating a dichotomy of those who receive gifted services and subsequent privileges and those who remain left out. Historically, Black students and other marginalized populations have had less participation in gifted programs. The literature highlights several factors connected to inequity in giftedness including lack of a cohesive definition of the term (or even if the concept of giftedness is real or socially constructed), nomination and …

Image Self-Enhancement De-Hazing Algorithm Combined With Generative Adversarial Network, Wanjun Liu, Yuqian Cheng, Haicheng Qu

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: To solve the problem that existing dehazing models are prone to over fitting after training with synthetic hazy image data sets, an image self-enhancement dehazing algorithm is proposed in combination with generative adversarial network. The depth information of an image is estimated while combining two Generative Adversarial Networks. The first GAN uses a clear image to learn the process of image hazing, and then adopts the hazed image generated by it as the input of the second GAN to guide the second GAN to correct dehazing. In order to reduce the difference before and after image processing, the consistency …
