This addendum to the K17 disclosure (Technical Disclosure Commons, October 20, 2026) describes three mechanisms for a stack machine whose suspended process lives in one unspent transaction output. First, a signed-attestation roster: the machine pays a fixed contributor, such as the owner of a sensor node, for a reading the contributor signed, whichever third party relays it, by checking a Rabin signature under a key whose hash is held in write-protected memory, and by paying the contributor's own payout address ahead of the relayer's reward; members can vouch new members in by signature. Second, a sponsor-admitted Merkle roster: the roster …

System For Personalized Commerce Using Multimodal Outcome Gap Analysis, Serline S. Coelho
Defensive Publications Series
Systems for connecting users with products in audiovisual content, such as videos or images, can have limitations in assisting a user to replicate a holistic outcome, for example an entire room design, which may result in fragmented or redundant product suggestions. A described system can perform multimodal analysis of content to generate a structured model of a desired outcome. This outcome model may then be compared against a model of the user's current state, which can be derived from user-authorized data sources (e.g., images of a user's environment, purchase history), to identify an outcome gap of missing products. A commerce …
Changing Computing Resource Limits For Camera-Based Motion Tracking, Parth Agrawal, Ryan Christopher Dutoit
Changing Computing Resource Limits For Camera-Based Motion Tracking, Parth Agrawal, Ryan Christopher Dutoit
Defensive Publications Series
Camera-based motion tracking systems, which fuse camera images and inertial measurement unit data to estimate a position and orientation of a device, can experience performance bottlenecks on resource-constrained platforms due to processing a statically defined number of visual constraints. A dynamic, map-aware framework can allocate a visual constraint budget at runtime. When a map is available, the framework may evaluate a quality of the map and choose to use map-based tracking features instead of standard motion-tracking measurements. A budget for persistent feature tracking landmarks may optionally remain fixed. This approach can reduce a total number of processed constraints. Modifying a …

Scroll-Activated Advertisement Dismissal, Yang Zhao, Clyde Li, Megana Belagutti, Alan Ruthazer, Emory Mcdowell
Defensive Publications Series
The technology described herein is directed to a scroll-activated dismissal mechanism for full-screen advertisements that links the close function of an advertisement (“ad”) to user interaction. When a scrollable ad is displayed, its close button is initially disabled and becomes active only after the user scrolls to a predetermined point, such as the end of the ad content. Visual cues inform the user of the scrolling requirement to enable the button. This ad format presents information-detailed content, including product descriptions, images, video, and reviews, within a single scrollable feed. The experience can be structured as a multi-stage journey, presenting an …

Self-Improving Multi-Ai Agent System For Impact-Aware Infrastructure Configuration Remediation, Arica Schivonne Jackson, Sushma Mahadevaswamy, Sree Gowri Addepalli, Barry Qi Yuan
Defensive Publications Series
A self-improving multi-agent artificial intelligence (AI) system is proposed herein for impact-aware infrastructure configuration remediation across cloud, on-premises, network-fabric, container, and hybrid environments. The system builds a temporally weighted identity and dependency graph (TIDG) from telemetry and large language model (LLM)-extracted relationships, uses a graph neural network (GNN) to predict the operational blast radius of a proposed change, and routes each finding to one of four simulation tiers. Every tier emits a normalized per-principal good-actor impact vector. Independent security, reliability, cost, and compliance evaluators use that vector in an adversarial governance gate. Accepted changes advance through telemetry-gated observe, canary, progressive-ring, …

Secure, On-Device Financial Aggregation And Autonomous Liquidity Management, Thirumagal Dhivya Subramanian
Defensive Publications Series
Systems for personal financial management may centralize data on remote servers, which can expose sensitive information, such as user credentials and personal messages, to potential security vulnerabilities. Described systems and techniques provide for a financial management architecture that can operate locally on a user's client device (e.g., a smartphone, smart watch, wearable device, or augmented reality glasses). The architecture may utilize on-device listeners to capture unstructured financial alerts, and a lightweight, on-device large language model may parse these alerts to extract structured transaction data. A predictive analytics engine can then forecast cash flow to calculate a suggested liquidity value for …

Language Model Generation Of Executable Commands For Native User Interface Control, Ankit Aggar, Sujay Mohan
Defensive Publications Series
Conversational agents integrated into software applications can introduce user friction by providing text-based instructions that require users to perform manual navigation. This disclosure describes systems and methods where a language model can process a user's natural language input to generate a structured data payload, such as a Javascript object notation object, containing executable commands. A client-side application may intercept this payload and use a native execution engine to interpret the commands. This process can trigger direct user interface actions, for example, navigating a user to a specific screen or dynamically rendering an interactive native widget within the conversational flow. This …

The Secure Element-Based Offline Payments Using Acoustically Transmitted Signed Tokens, Sree Sitamahalakshmi Moguluru
Defensive Publications Series
Digital payment systems may face challenges in environments with limited or no network connectivity, for example, with computing devices (e.g., a smartphone, feature phone, wearable device) that may have limited hardware capabilities. A system is disclosed for offline transactions that can use a device's secure element, such as a subscriber identity module. During a transaction, an applet on the secure element can debit a designated offline balance and generate a cryptographically signed token containing transaction details. This signed token can then be transmitted between devices using, for example, acoustic signals. A receiving device can locally verify the token's authenticity without …

An integrated dual-spectrum camera module and calibration method combine a visible-light (RGB) imaging channel and a long-wave infrared (LWIR) thermal-imaging channel within a common enclosure. An electronically controlled actuator moves an internal spectrally selective shutter, such as a silicon/germanium (Si/Ge) optical element, between an open operating state and a closed calibration state. In the open operating state, the shutter is retracted and substantially simultaneous RGB and LWIR frames are processed using stored and/or dynamically updated registration parameters to produce corrected, registered, or fused dual-spectrum outputs. In the closed calibration state, the shutter provides an optically blocked black-reference frame for RGB …
Method For Heterogeneous Integration And Fabrication Of Micro-Led Based Optical Input/Output Chiplets, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
A method for fabricating and integrating micro-light-emitting diode based optical input/output chiplets utilizes a reconstructed wafer architecture to combine heterogeneous semiconductor dies prior to wafer-level assembly. Known good photodetector dies and micro-light-emitting diode transmitter dies are arranged facing upward on a temporary carrier wafer, and die-to-die gaps are filled with a dielectric oxide material. Sequential redistribution layers are formed over the reconstructed wafer to establish a power distribution network along with a surface hybrid bonding layer. The reconstructed wafer is then bonded face-to-face to a complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor base wafer in a single wafer-to-wafer hybrid bonding step. Backside processing is performed …

Automated Risk-Based Schedule Optimization From Unstructured Project Data, Mike Goodman, Gary Foreman, Sumit Agrawal, Matt Anderson, Ashwin Mishra
Defensive Publications Series
Project management for large-scale industrial operations may be challenged by rigid plans that are susceptible to disruptions from real-world events, potentially leading to schedule and cost overruns. A system for automated workflow optimization can process unstructured data by using an agentic framework to ingest heterogeneous data, such as technical manuals and three-dimensional models, to extract project tasks and their dependencies. A bilevel optimization engine, which could be coupled with Monte Carlo risk simulation, may then process this task list to generate a risk-adjusted and optimized schedule based on variables including, for example, cost and time. This approach can facilitate a …

Trading Deaths For Suffering In Ai Systems, James Miller, David Veldran, Jonathan Leighton, Roman V. Yampolskiy
Trading Deaths For Suffering In Ai Systems, James Miller, David Veldran, Jonathan Leighton, Roman V. Yampolskiy
Economics: Faculty Publications
Optimizing an AI system against objectives that include both deaths and suffering can create a tradeoff between the two harms. When deaths are more readily recorded and audited than suffering, optimization pressure can concentrate on mortality and displace harm toward suffering, which is continuous, private, and hard to measure. Recorded deaths can fall while unmeasured suffering rises through non-lethal control, restriction, and deprivation. We trace six mechanisms that can produce this substitution and argue that manipulation-resistant suffering metrics, backed by enforcement as rigorous as that applied to mortality metrics, would reduce this form of harm displacement.

From Fragmentation To Phronesis: A Hermeneutic Pedagogy For Business Education In The Age Of Generative Ai, Peta Heron, Darryl Meekins
The Interdisciplinary Journal for Research on Pedagogy and Learning Design, Vol. 1, Issue 1., Fall 2026
Generative artificial intelligence has intensified a longstanding problem in higher education, namely, the temptation to treat information production as evidence of understanding. This article argues that business education should respond to generative AI not by retreating into prohibition or by normalizing automation as pedagogically neutral, but by re-centering practical wisdom, or phronesis, through hermeneutic pedagogy. Drawing on Gadamerian concepts of historically effected consciousness, dialogue through which understanding unfolds, application, and the fusion of horizons, the article proposes REVEAL as a pedagogical heuristic for business and business instructors. This acronym is Research, Examine, Viewpoint, Engage, Align, and Learn. REVEAL positions AI …
