Background: Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is a rare, often severe autoimmune disease affecting skin and mucous membranes. Despite the scarce literature on PV in skin of color (SOC) populations (Fitzpatrick III-VI), existing studies suggest that there are misdiagnosis, delayed treatment, and recurrence of symptoms in SOC patients with PV. Objective: This review explores the clinical presentations of PV reported in patients with SOC, diagnostic challenges and delays, treatments, and patient outcomes to allow for an improved understanding of how PV manifests clinically in darker skin. The ISTS and the Dartmouth College Cybersecurity Cluster hosted the successful, inaugural Cyber-Resilient Health Care (CRHC) Workshop, March 5th & 6th, 2026. The event theme was "Innovation and Implementation," in response to the need to shift from reactive to proactive resiliency measures in the healthcare sector. Approximately 30 experts in clinical health care, cybersecurity, medical technology, policy, and innovation met to discuss solution-focused innovations addressing hard, cyber-related problems in health care. In the hopes of easing the housing shortage, on May 26 the New York Legislature passed and Governor Kathy Hochul signed a bill that will exempt many multifamily housing projects from the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA).

A month before, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) issued regulations on protecting disadvantaged communities, and took steps to require more discussion of climate impacts under SEQRA.

The Supreme Court has wavered between two approaches to questions of executive power, which are often labeled institutional formalism and realism. Formalism treats an institution like the presidency as a “black box” to which the Constitution assigns certain powers. In Trump v. Hawaii,  for example, the Supreme Court upheld President Trump’s infamous travel ban by focusing not on the “particular President” and his past call for a “complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States,” but rather on “the authority of the Presidency itself.” That is the language of institutional formalism.

We consider a queueing system that utilizes a single server to manage product flow through bulk and overload service modes, depending on queue length. Balking occurs when the queue length reaches ‘N’. After completion of service, products undergo quality inspection, with defective products sent for rework based on specific probabilities. If the product is non-defective, the server continues processing until the queue length exceeds a certain threshold; beyond this point, the server is either routed back to bulk service or directed to an overload service. We developed a class of multivariate integer-valued time series models using copula theory. Each count time series is modeled as a Markov chain, with serial dependence characterized through copula-based transition probabilities for Poisson and negative binomial marginals. Cross-sectional dependence is modeled via a trivariate Gaussian or a “t-copula”, allowing for both positive and negative correlations and providing a flexible dependence structure. Model parameters are estimated using likelihood-based inference, where the trivariate Gaussian or t-copula integrals are evaluated through standard randomized Monte Carlo methods. Drawing on nearly a decade of qualitative data collection and educator engagement at an immigrant-serving high school in Philadelphia, this essay explores the intersections of critical multilingual pedagogy with secondary traumatic stress (STS). STS is a mental health condition impacting professionals who work closely with trauma-impacted individuals, which can adversely impact their job satisfaction and career trajectories. In this chapter, we show how we used assessment and user experience (UX) methods to improve our library’s website. We conducted usability testing, during which we observed participants complete tasks on our website. To help support our testing, we used our library’s biennial user satisfaction survey, where we included several targeted questions that assessed user engagement with the website. We used the results of both assessments to inform updates to the website. Together, the results of our usability testing and survey provide a full picture of website use and lead to a more user-centered website. While the survey was quantitative …

During contests over resources, the intensity of fighting and the outcome is often influenced by an interaction between the difference between opponents in the fighting abilities (resource holding potential [RHP]) and the difference in how they subjectively value the resource. Additionally, because fighting can involve vigorous activity, engaging in a fight can make the opponents more noticeable to predators. Thus, predation risk, alongside resource value (RV), may interact with the effects of RHP difference. The liquid film flow rate or droplet flow rate in annular flow is determined by a parameter known as the entrainment fraction. Conventional empirical correlations are commonly employed for predicting the entrainment fraction; however, their applicability is often restricted to specific operating conditions and working fluids. Recently, a few machine learning (ML) models have been developed to achieve better accuracy in entrainment fraction prediction. Anterior Cutaneous Nerve Entrapment Syndrome From Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonist Injection, Neha Singh, Elisa Chaparro, Jordan Michael Shapiro, Emanuel Narcis Husu

Anterior cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome (ACNES) is an underdiagnosed cause of abdominal pain. We report the first documented ACNES case following subcutaneous administration of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist. A 44-year-old man developed focal, neuropathic abdominal pain coinciding with initiation of tirzepatide injections. Clinical examination confirmed ACNES diagnosis, and pain improved after relocating injections away from the abdomen and initiating multimodal pharmacotherapy. This case emphasizes the need to consider ACNES in patients endorsing focal abdominal pain with concurrent use of glucagon-like peptide-1 therapy and highlights injection site modification as a simple, effective management strategy while exercising self-restraint with respect to workup.

Background and aims: Immune-mediated colitis (IMC) is a challenging adverse effect of immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy, often leading to treatment interruption or discontinuation. Current IMC endoscopic scoring systems were adapted from those used for inflammatory bowel disease but fail to fully capture IMC. The newly proposed IMC endoscopic score (IMCES) seeks to help guide prognosis and treatment. We aimed to validate IMCES and explore its association with IMC clinical severity and outcomes.

Blue carbon ecosystems (BCEs), including mangroves, salt marshes, and seagrasses, play a critical role in climate mitigation due to their high carbon sequestration capacity. Despite Africa's extensive and diverse coastal ecosystems, continent-wide assessments of blue carbon stocks and accumulation rates remain scarce. Here, we synthesized blue carbon data from 87 publications (January 1993 - March 2026) to evaluate the current state of knowledge and regional variability. Our analysis reveals marked regional heterogeneity in sediment organic carbon (SOC) stocks across Africa, reflecting both ecological variability and methodological differences among studies. Objectives: To examine the association between HGS and physical function, quality of life (QoL), and cardiometabolic risk markers in midlife women, and verify potential discrepancies between absolute and relative HGS on these relationships. Study design: This cross-sectional study enrolled 83 participants (50.7±5.3y) who completed handgrip (hydraulic dynamometer), knee extensor and plantar flexor (isokinetic dynamometry) strength tests, and body composition evaluations (DXA). A variety of physical function tests, QoL (SF-36) and cardiometabolic blood markers were also measured. Results: Participants below the cutoff for HGS/body mass (0.34) did not differ in height but were significantly (P<0.01) heavier (80.8±12.8 vs. 68.6±11.4 kg), had higher BMI (30.0±4.2 vs. 25.4±4.0 kg/m²) and body fat (39.9±4.4 …
