Multi-Tier, Signal-Weighted Topic Exclusion For Recurring Ai Content Suggestion, With A Batch-Completeness Guarantee, Vipul Panday
Multi-Tier, Signal-Weighted Topic Exclusion For Recurring Ai Content Suggestion, With A Batch-Completeness Guarantee, Vipul Panday
Defensive Publications Series
A system that repeatedly generates a fresh batch of candidate content topics for a person to choose from, once per day in this case, will eventually re-surface a topic that person has already engaged with in some way, unless the system tracks and consults that history. Doing this naively creates two opposite failure modes. Excluding too little re-shows the same ideas, and excluding too much eventually starves the system of anything left to offer, because a topic a person simply didn't pick that day (having preferred a different one in the same batch) is not the same signal as a …
Automated Software Defect Analysis And Prevention Via A Closed-Loop Knowledge Extraction Pipeline, Snigdha Saha, Zening Li, Shu-Wei Cheng
Automated Software Defect Analysis And Prevention Via A Closed-Loop Knowledge Extraction Pipeline, Snigdha Saha, Zening Li, Shu-Wei Cheng
Defensive Publications Series
In large-scale software development, root-cause analysis can be a manual process that may not effectively connect production crashes to nuanced discussions from code reviews. A system for automated software defect analysis can use a closed-loop pipeline to extract engineering principles from historical development artifacts, such as code review comments, to create a structured, machine-readable knowledge base. An autonomous agent may use this knowledge base to analyze new code contributions, generating quantitative risk scores based on principle violations, disparities between developer intent and the code changes, and similarity to historical crash-inducing changes. This process may assist in accelerating root-cause analysis of …

Test Point Insertion System For Hard‑To‑Detect Hierarchies Using Netlist Structural Signature Analysis, Krunal Siddhapathak, Aditya Phatak, Ankit Garg
Defensive Publications Series
Achieving complete fault coverage in complex System‑on‑Chip (SoC) designs during Automated Test Pattern Generation (ATPG) can cause test pattern volume inflation, as standard Test Point Insertion (TPI) techniques distribute test points uniformly rather than targeting specific structural bottlenecks. Disclosed is a predictive test point insertion system that analyzes synthesized netlists to identify Hard‑to‑Detect (HTD) logic hierarchies through structural signature evaluation. The system parses logic cones, pinpoints structural barriers (e.g., sequential state machines, wide comparators), and concentrates test point placement within the identified HTD hierarchies. Concentrating test points into these structural bottlenecks reduces total test pattern volume while preserving fault coverage …

Generating Specialized Models For Visual Ui Defect Detection Via Fine-Tuning And Active Learning, Juan Borgnino, Fei Wang, Zening Li, Shu-Wei Cheng, Kamakshi Kodur
Defensive Publications Series
Quality assurance for visually complex applications may be resource-intensive, and some automated methods can be inaccurate or difficult to scale. A systematic framework is described for generating specialized machine learning models for visual user interface defect detection. This approach can involve adapting large, pre-trained foundational models through a fine-tuning process that uses small, curated datasets, with each model trained to recognize a specific visual anomaly. The framework can also incorporate data augmentation and an active learning feedback loop to iteratively improve model performance by sampling and labeling challenging examples. This process may enable the creation of classifiers for quality assurance, …
Optimized Tendon-Driven Transmission Architecture For Multi-Joint Robotic Manipulation Systems, Anonymous
Optimized Tendon-Driven Transmission Architecture For Multi-Joint Robotic Manipulation Systems, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
A tendon-driven robotic finger transmission architecture and associated design methodology are disclosed. A hierarchical mixed-actuator N+1 configuration uses a remotely located macro actuator to drive a single wrist-crossing macro tendon that produces flexion across multiple finger joints, and one or more palm-housed mini actuators to provide extension and correction torques. A pulley-based routing arrangement places rolling elements at or near joint rotation centers to reduce configuration-dependent tendon excursion coupling, including routing the macro tendon through or coincident with the MCP abduction/adduction axis to reduce parasitic ab/ad torque. A force polytope optimization procedure computes feasible fingertip force polytopes from tendon bounds …

Decentralized System For Agent-Mediated Querying Of Personal Knowledge Repositories, Calvin Huang, Fei Wang, Zening Li, Shu-Wei Cheng, Snigdha Saha
Defensive Publications Series
The capture of tacit knowledge in organizations may be hindered by friction associated with manual documentation. A decentralized system can address this by providing each user with a personal knowledge repository (PKR) hosted on a shared, searchable file system. A local software agent, operating on a user's computing device (e.g., a laptop, smartphone, or wearable device), can populate the PKR through explicit commands or passive monitoring of work activities, with user consent. This agent can also directly query the PKRs of other users across a peer-to-peer network to retrieve information. The system can provide a method for accessing distributed information, …
Hierarchical Traffic Scheduling Architecture For Multi-Engine Network Interface Controllers, Anonymous
Hierarchical Traffic Scheduling Architecture For Multi-Engine Network Interface Controllers, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
A hierarchical port scheduler for a multi-engine network interface controller provides unified transmit arbitration across independent protocol engines sharing traffic classes and downstream resources. The scheduler ingests transmit descriptors, optionally computes full on-wire frame length, and stores descriptors in per-port queues. A two-level hierarchical token bucket applies per-queue and per-group committed/peak rate limiting with configurable queue-to-group mapping. Per-queue and per-group colors are combined via a programmable truth table to form a combined color, and a global strict color priority selects eligibility vectors across groups. An eligibility masking stage accounts for downstream constraints including transmit buffer credits, priority-based flow control pause, …

Automated Code Change Verification Via Differential Trace Analysis, Shu-Wei Cheng, Fei Wang, Yao-Sheng Tsai, Akhila Immadisetty, Zening Li
Defensive Publications Series
A system for automated code verification can address challenges associated with verifying high-velocity code changes, where manual review may be slow and broad automated testing might lack specificity. The system can utilize a multi-agent approach for differential trace analysis. A synthesizer agent can, for example, analyze a specific code change to generate a targeted test plan. This plan may be executed in parallel on a control version of a software component without the change and an experiment version that includes it. During execution, observation agents can capture detailed execution traces and performance metrics from both runs. The system may first …

Temporal Pixel Modulation For Client-Side Video Piracy Prevention And Anti-Screen-Recording, Paras Thakur
Defensive Publications Series
Traditional digital rights management and visual watermarking fail to prevent video piracy through the analog hole or significantly degrade user viewing experiences. To address this, a client-side Temporal Pixel Modulator can be implemented within a video player's GPU rendering pipeline using WebGL fragment shaders. The shader dynamically modulates individual pixel luminance values at a high frequency above the human critical flicker fusion threshold, maintaining a flicker-free visual experience for legitimate viewers. However, when captured by digital sensors, this modulation can interact with camera shutter speeds and exposure intervals to induce temporal and spatial aliasing. This aliasing structurally corrupts unauthorized recordings …
Inline Thermal Interface Quality Assessment And Process Control Using Embedded Sensor Telemetry, Anonymous
Inline Thermal Interface Quality Assessment And Process Control Using Embedded Sensor Telemetry, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
Inline, non-destructive screening of thermal interface quality is performed on a fully assembled and sealed die–thermal-interface–cold-plate unit. A controlled electrical power stimulus is applied to one or more dies using the unit’s normal power delivery. Transient die temperature telemetry from embedded sensors and applied power from power-rail telemetry are captured without added metrology hardware. A thermal-interface quality metric is extracted, including a thermal-resistance ratio and/or transient-signature features that may be isolated using structure-function decomposition. Units are ranked relative to other units or a running baseline to support an inline go/no-go decision without requiring an absolute reject specification. The metric is …
Event-Triggered Selective Rank Warming And Always-On Shadow Completion For Compute Express Link Dynamic-Capacity Memory, Vadlamudi Venkata Girish
Event-Triggered Selective Rank Warming And Always-On Shadow Completion For Compute Express Link Dynamic-Capacity Memory, Vadlamudi Venkata Girish
Defensive Publications Series
This technology integrates Event-Triggered Selective Rank Warming and an Always-On Shadow Completion Bridge to manage power-gated Compute Express Link Dynamic-Capacity Memory. A memory controller intercepts a mandatory out-of-band memory allocation handshake and uses this event to deterministically trigger a power-exit sequence for only the specific physical memory blocks being allocated. If a host access occurs before this sequence completes, the Always-On Shadow Completion Bridge handles the request using an always-powered internal staging store. The bridge emulates read completions with deterministic data and absorbs write transactions, preventing host timeouts. After the physical memory becomes fully operational, the controller transparently drains the …

Reinterpreting The Lux-Zeplin High-Energy Nuclear Recoil Anomaly: Localized Boundary Strain And Substrate Pushback Dynamics As An Alternative To Heavy Inelastic Wimps, Christopher L. Eckes
Defensive Publications Series
Abstract
On September 1, 2026, the LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) collaboration reported a single, highly unexpected high-energy nuclear recoil event within an extended energy window up to ~270 keV, exhibiting a 2.6-sigma significance level (0.5% background probability). While mainstream interpretations attribute this June 16, 2023 event to an ultra-heavy inelastic Weakly Interacting Massive Particle (WIMP) exceeding \(200 \text{ GeV/c}^2\), this paper presents a rigorous mathematical alternative grounded in the Dimensionally Extended Holographic Cosmology (DEHP) framework. We demonstrate that this singular interaction can be perfectly modeled without exogenous dark matter particles. By treating the local vacuum as an incompressible fluid substrate bounded by …
Flexible Placement Ac-Cbu Rack With Upstream Current Transformer And Feedback Control, N/A
Flexible Placement Ac-Cbu Rack With Upstream Current Transformer And Feedback Control, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
An AC-integrated capacitor bank unit (AC-CBU) rack architecture places a current transformer (CT) at an upstream location, such as a low-voltage switchgear, relative to both the AC-CBU racks and the payload racks. The upstream CT measures the aggregate load current for a group of racks. Multiple AC-CBU racks share this measurement data from the single CT and use feedback control to smooth power fluctuations on the power busway. This configuration results in a flexible layout compatible with standard data center designs, as the AC-CBU racks can be physically distributed among payload racks and connected in a daisy-chain to share the …
Reactive Network Configuration Compliance With A Cost-Effective Natural Language Processor For Multivendor Networks, Viktoria Fordos, Qi Li
Reactive Network Configuration Compliance With A Cost-Effective Natural Language Processor For Multivendor Networks, Viktoria Fordos, Qi Li
Defensive Publications Series
Network configuration compliance has traditionally focused on monitoring and notifying operators when a network departs from a compliant state, leaving corrective action to the operator. A declarative, rule-based system is proposed herein to enforce network configuration compliance while lowering the entry barrier for using compliance functions. The system associates trigger conditions with corrective actions and includes a cost-effective natural language processor based on device schema. The processor can translate natural-language trigger conditions for multivendor network-controller environments with a high accuracy rate, allowing operators to define compliance rules without manually writing controller queries.
Blind-Mate, Low-Drip Ball Valve Quick Disconnect With Two-Stage Actuation, N/A
Blind-Mate, Low-Drip Ball Valve Quick Disconnect With Two-Stage Actuation, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
A ball valve low drip quick disconnect (QD) facilitates blind-mate fluid connections for applications such as liquid cooling in high-density hardware. The connector set includes two halves, each containing a ball valve actuated by an integrated gear mechanism. The mating process occurs in two stages: first, alignment pins guide the two halves together to form a fluid-tight seal with an O-ring while the valves remain closed. Second, continued linear motion of the connector halves causes the alignment pins to engage and drive the valve gears, rotating the ball valves to an open position for fluid flow. This mechanical design combines …
Horizon‑Based Operating Point Selection For A System On A Chip Using Predicted Thermal Trajectories And Adaptive Cost Weighting, Mohsen Heidarinejad, Farid Kenarangi, Arpit Mittal
Horizon‑Based Operating Point Selection For A System On A Chip Using Predicted Thermal Trajectories And Adaptive Cost Weighting, Mohsen Heidarinejad, Farid Kenarangi, Arpit Mittal
Defensive Publications Series
Thermal and power management on a system on a chip (SoC) typically responds to its present state, revising the operating point only after reaching a temperature or power limit. This reactive approach often overlooks the delayed and cumulative heating produced by earlier execution, failing to effectively reconcile performance, power, and completion goals. The disclosed methods forecast temperature ramp rates and trajectories from the present temperature and power of the SoC, form candidate operating points expected to meet a workload completion time, and limits them with caps from thermal and power controllers. A cost function evaluated across a finite prediction horizon …

High-Capacity Server Ramp With Crank-Adjustable Height, N/A, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
The high-capacity server ramp with crank-adjustable height is a portable steel structure for unloading heavy server racks from shipping crates. The ramp may support a maximum load of 8,000 pounds. An operator adjusts the integrated landing gear assemblies of the ramp using a hand crank. The hand crank drives an internal gearbox and screw mechanism to extend or retract the legs of the ramp, enabling continuous height adjustment. This adjustment aligns the surface of the ramp with various shipping crate heights to create a consistent incline for moving equipment.

Warranted Extraction: A Verification Architecture For Machine-Read Coverage, James H. Rosing
Defensive Publications Series
Large language models can read a payer medical-policy document and produce structured coverage criteria that look right. Nothing in the model’s output distinguishes the criteria that are right from the criteria that are invented, and in clinical revenue-cycle use an invented criterion is acted on. We describe an architecture in which an LLM is treated as an untrusted proposer whose output becomes queryable only after a deterministic, separately built verifier has resolved every claim to a verbatim span in a hash-pinned rendering of the source document. Every served criterion carries that span, called a warrant, so any consumer can check …

Large Language Model (Llm) Powered Input Method Editor (Ime), Liyang Jiang, Heng Su, Gang Feng
Defensive Publications Series
Traditional Input Method Editors (IMEs) that provide next phrase prediction to ease data entry have limited context and lack deep semantic understanding. The prediction accuracy of such IMEs is suboptimal for long-tail phrases such as domain-specific vocabulary, acronyms, slang, etc. or in contexts where the text entry has a long semantic context. This document describes techniques that integrate a Large Language Model (LLM) into the text decoding and prediction path of an IME to reduce keystroke overhead and improve output quality by providing advanced state-dependent predictions. An asynchronous prediction pipeline is implemented where a client application (e.g., that operates as …
Device-Level Revocation Of Digital Asset Signing Capabilities, Paul J. Rohde
Device-Level Revocation Of Digital Asset Signing Capabilities, Paul J. Rohde
Defensive Publications Series
Attackers can circumvent content provenance standards by physically modifying a device to generate valid device attestation reports, allowing the attacker to sign fake digital assets such as images, video, or audio content as authentic assets captured using the device. For example, an attacker may physically interact with and voltage-glitch the device's random-access memory (RAM) to obtain runtime root access, disable security modules, and impersonate an authorized capturing process to generate valid attestation reports. This disclosure describes techniques for revoking certificates assigned to a device detected as having been used to produce a fraudulent digital asset. The techniques involve generating a …
Centrifugal Compressor With Pressure Responsive Flexible Seal Plate For Dynamic Diffuser Geometry Control
Defensive Publications Series
Traditional centrifugal compressors utilize fixed-geometry diffusers that are optimized for a single operational design point, leading to reduced aerodynamic efficiency under off-design flow conditions and varying pressure ratios. Mechanical variable-geometry alternatives introduce complex linkages, actuators, and sealing vulnerabilities. This proposed solution discloses a compressor configuration that utilizes controllable fluid pressure within an integrated coolant circuit to actively or passively deform a flexible seal plate. By dynamically modulating the coolant circuit pressure, the diffuser channel width and geometric profile can be altered seamlessly to maximize aerodynamic and thermal exchange efficiency without external mechanical moving parts.

Remote Display Spatial Pointing Using Processed Inertial Sensor Data From A Mobile Device, Chien-Feng Yu, Sophia Chen, Eusden Lin, Sara Lin, Dewita Sonya
Defensive Publications Series
A mobile computing device (e.g., a smartphone, smart watch, wearable device, augmented reality glasses, etc.) may function as a spatial pointer for a remote display by processing data from an on-board inertial measurement unit. An on-device spatial engine can translate the device's physical orientation and movement into two-dimensional screen coordinates. This translation process may, for example, involve techniques such as isotropic aspect ratio correction and a dynamic motion amplification layer that adjusts sensitivity based on angular velocity. The processed coordinates can then be streamed to the remote display over a low-latency network protocol. This approach may provide improved cursor control …
Fully Isolated Floating Nut Terminal Block For 3-Phase High Voltage Systems
Fully Isolated Floating Nut Terminal Block For 3-Phase High Voltage Systems
Defensive Publications Series
In electric vehicle (EV) powertrains, establishing robust electromechanical connections between the inverter and the electric motor's stator busbars (U, V, W phases) is critical. Traditional terminal blocks utilize a fixed-type geometry that cannot account for manufacturing and assembly tolerance variations. This rigidity introduces severe mechanical stress into the busbars, potentially leading to material fatigue, weld failures, and fluid leakage at the inverter’s overmolded housing seals. This proposed solution discloses an innovative, fully isolated floating nut terminal block. By integrating floating threaded subassemblies within a polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) overmolded bracket containing specific hexagonal grooves, the system allows multi-axis movement to absorb …
Runtime Adaptation Of Controller-To-Operating-Point Mapping Policies For Thermal, Power, And Performance Coordination In A System On A Chip, Mohsen Heidarinejad, Farid Kenarangi, Arpit Mittal
Runtime Adaptation Of Controller-To-Operating-Point Mapping Policies For Thermal, Power, And Performance Coordination In A System On A Chip, Mohsen Heidarinejad, Farid Kenarangi, Arpit Mittal
Defensive Publications Series
A system on a chip (SoC) converts outputs from its temperature and power controllers into operating points through mapping policies set during nominal silicon characterization. Because thermal and electrical behavior shifts with workload activity, silicon process variation, and aging, a fixed mapping policy can leave thermal and power budgets underused or request operating points that press measured temperature or power toward platform limits. The disclosed system retains existing temperature and power control loops while adding a temperature impact block, a power impact block, and a performance impact block that evaluate measured SoC behavior and propose localized refinements to the mapping …

Macroscopic Momentum-Space Tomography: Utilizing High-Z Cryogenic Target Arrays As Resonant Phase-Retrieval Lenses For Substrate Interferometry, Christopher L. Eckes
Defensive Publications Series
This paper introduces a formal engineering architecture to transition the Dimensionally Extended Holographic Projection (DEHP) model from numerical simulation to empirical instrumentation. Integrating the spatial phase-retrieval mechanics of 3D Photoemission Orbital Tomography (3D-POT) with the high-density containment engineering of deep-underground liquid xenon detectors, we outline a method for a macroscopic momentum-space microscope. Rather than treating the September 1, 2026 LUX-ZEPLIN 248 keV anomaly as an exogenous particle collision, we demonstrate that a high-Z condensed target array can function as an active, resonant phase-retrieval lens. We provide the complete mathematical tensor frameworks, specific material specifications, and structural engineering steps required to …

During silicon debug, a system-on-chip (SoC) captures its internal sequential state through a scan-based extraction step, referred to as Scandump. Moving the design from functional operation into Scandump mode is an asynchronous event, where a glitch on a reset or clock signal can toggle sequential elements and corrupt the captured state. This document describes a verification method that freezes the design with a global clock-stop signal, writes a known random seed in parallel into the scannable flip-flops (scan flops) as value A, moves the design into Scandump mode, and samples the resulting flop state in parallel as value B. Comparing …

Machine‑Learning Estimation Of Static Ir Drop In System‑On‑Chip Power Grids Using Gradient‑Boosted Regression And Image‑To‑Image Translation, Prateek Pendyala
Defensive Publications Series
Designing the power delivery network of a system‑on‑chip (SoC) involves repeated changes to the layout and to the power grid, and engineers conventionally re‑evaluate each change with a commercial static current‑resistance (IR) drop analysis. These analyses can run from tens of minutes to several hours across many compute workers, which lengthens each design iteration. This disclosure describes a machine‑learning approach that estimates per‑node static IR drop for multi‑million‑node power grids from electrical and spatial features of a design database. The approach provides two complimentary techniques: a gradient‑boosted decision‑tree regression that predicts incremental IR drop from extracted power and resistance features, …

Early Prediction Of Design‑Rule‑Check Violation Hotspots From Placement‑Stage Congestion Feature Maps Using A Fully Convolutional Network, Prateek Pendyala
Defensive Publications Series
In the physical design of a system‑on‑chip (SoC) layout, design‑rule‑check (DRC) violations often appear late, during detailed routing (a stage that can take days to complete and that may trigger repeated placement adjustments). This document describes a method that estimates where DRC violation hotspots may gather earlier in the process, working from feature maps that become available after placement and global routing. The method arranges these maps (macro regions, cell and pin densities, rectangular uniform wire density (RUDY) maps, and routing congestion) as multi‑channel two‑dimensional inputs to a fully convolutional network (FCN) built as a multi‑scale encoder‑decoder with skip connections …
