Determination Of The Effectiveness Of The Three-Minute Nutrition Screening (3-Minns) Tool In Adult Patients Hospitalized In A Cardiology Clinic, Asli Onur Canaydin, Habibe Sahin

Objectives: To determine the efficacy of the 3-Minute Nutrition Screening (3-MinNS) tool in adults hospitalized for cardiovascular diseases. Methods: In this descriptive cross-sectional study of 759 cardiovascular disease patients in Erciyes University Cardiology Clinic, anthropometric measurements and some routine biochemical parameters were recorded, and nutrition screening tools were used to determine malnutrition status. The power of 3-MinNS to detect malnutrition in cardiovascular diseases patients was calculated. Results: There was a strong positive correlation between 3-MinNS and Nutrition Risk Screening-2002 (NRS-2002) (r=0.719, p <0.001). A moderate agreement was found between 3-MinNS and NRS-2002 (κ=0.496, p <0.001). The sensitivity, specificity, and AUC of 3-MinNS were 79.1%, 75.0%, and 0.851, respectively, and it was determined to be a moderately effective nutrition screening tool that can be used to identify malnutrition in patients with cardiovascular diseases. Conclusion: The 3-MinNS is a moderately effective nutrition screening tool that can be administered within the first 24 hours of hospitalization in patients with cardiovascular diseases.

Objectives: To evaluate the outcomes of adjuvant radiotherapy in patients with esophageal cancer (EC) who underwent esophagectomy following neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NCRT). Methods: The data of EC patients who received adjuvant therapy after NCRT between 2004 to 2019 was retrieved from the SEER database. The patients were split into the adjuvant radiotherapy with or without chemotherapy (RT±CT) and the adjuvant chemotherapy (CT) groups. The process of propensity score matching (PSM) was employed. Food insecurity is a fairly pervasive problem throughout the United States that is especially burdensome for low-income regions. While the latter is generally recognized, there have been very few efforts to quantify the dollar costs of food insecurity, especially at the regional level. This study attempts to do so for El Paso County, Texas. This is achieved by first adjusting for inflation cost estimates in a prior national level study. Chapter 1. The impact of ESG disasters on Green and Brown firms

I investigate the effect of a firm’s prior ESG reputation on the market impact of ESG incidents. I find that firms with a better ESG reputation, i.e., higher ESG ratings, experience less negative stock-market reactions and analysts' forecast revisions compared to firms with a poorer ESG reputation. But managers of Greener firms, when producing earnings guidance, do not forecast a lower impact of these incidents on future earnings. Similarly, actual decreases in future earnings following these incidents are not significantly different between Green and Brown firms. Altogether, the …
