Market Channel Preferences And Influencing Factors In The Traditional Rice Enterprise In Abra, Philippines, Kae Ann Marie P. Balingit

Journal of Management for Global Sustainability

This study examines the market channel preferences of traditional rice farmers and traders in Abra, Philippines, and identifies the socio-economic, institutional, and production factors influencing these choices. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from 139 respondents through surveys and 52 qualitative interviews. Logistic regression and thematic analysis were employed to explain market behavior. Results show a strong preference for informal, direct-to-consumer channels, driven by immediate cash needs, low transaction costs, and institutional constraints. Production experience and farm scale increase the likelihood of participation in structured markets, while higher production frequency reduces it due to timing and market absorption limitations. …

Underground mining operations are increasingly dependent on autonomous vehicles, robotic drilling systems, and intelligent inspection platforms operating in confined, GPS-denied tunnel environments. These systems rely on distributed perception models to interpret navigation cues, hazard warnings, and environmental signals in real time. While centralized deep learning can enhance model performance, transferring raw operational data across mining sites introduces serious confidentiality and security risks. The recent “bullet-dwarf” model proposes that high-velocity collisions between dwarf galaxies can produce stellar systems with overluminous globular clusters (GCs) and a deficiency of dark matter, as observed in the NGC 1052 group galaxies NGC 1052-DF2 and NGC 1052-DF4. We present a possible analog system in the outskirts of the Fornax cluster: the ultradiffuse galaxy FCC 224 and its close companion FCC 240. Using deep Very Large Telescope/MUSE integral field spectroscopy, we characterize their stellar populations, internal kinematics, and GC systems to test this formation scenario. First, technology-assisted distance supervision needed for “real time” communication grew. Recent advancements in spatially resolved transcriptomics (SRT) technologies have enabled the comprehensive molecular and spatial characterization of single cells, providing valuable insights into the cellular organization of tissues. SRT techniques, such as single-molecule fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH)-based methods (e.g., seqFISH, STARmap) and next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based methods (e.g., spatial transcriptomics, 10x Visium), allow for the measurement of gene expression across large populations of cells or tissue spots. Intracellular calcium signaling plays a vital role in regulating various cellular processes including gene regulation, motility, metabolism, and cell death. Inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptors (IP3Rs) on the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) are a major cation channel that regulates stimulus-induced calcium release from the ER. While several molecular players regulate the activity of IP3R, its regulation by actin filaments was uncharacterized. Here, we show that actin filaments polymerized by the specific actin nucleator INF2 facilitate agonist-induced IP3R activity. Because patients differ in clinical and biological characteristics, personalized treatment planning can support physicians' decision-making. However, multistate disease progression complicates the comparison of treatment strategies, motivating the development of a user-friendly web tool for multistate disease progression simulation and treatment decision support. Despite the availability of campus, community, and federal food assistance resources, utilization remains low, suggesting that barriers extend beyond structural access. This dissertation examines the psychosocial, behavioral, and institutional factors that shape food insecurity disclosure and help-seeking behaviors among undergraduate students, guided by the Social Ecological Model (SEM).

This dissertation addresses the long-standing challenge of accurately and efficiently modeling long-range electron correlations, with a particular focus on van der Waals (vdW) interactions. These interactions play an essential role in predicting the structure, stability, and functionality of molecular systems and condensed matter materials. Although Density Functional Theory (DFT) has become a robust cornerstone of computational materials science, traditional formulations of the theory frequently fail to capture dispersive interactions, leading to significant errors in determining interlayer distances, binding energies, and stacking configurations.
