The oil and gas industry faces significant challenges due to pipeline corrosion, resulting in substantial economic losses and safety risks. This study investigates the effectiveness of smart coatings containing varying concentrations of benzotriazole-loaded halloysite nanotubes (BTA-HNT) and boiled linseed oil microcapsules (MCs) in mitigating corrosion and to investigate the impact of different mixing techniques on the performance of these coatings. Epoxy coatings incorporating BTA-HNT and MCs were applied to carbon steel substrates in concentrations of 10 wt%, 15 wt%, and 20 wt%. Two mixing methods, magnetic stirring and sonication, were assessed for their ability to disperse the microcapsules effectively. Characterisation …

Dr. Carter G Woodson was an African American historian, author, publisher, and activist. He is known as the Father of Black History. He was the second African American to receive a doctorate from Harvard University. He was the founder of the Journal of Negro Education and the Associated Publishers. He wrote many influential books, including The History of the Negro Church and The Miseducation of the Negro. He died in Washington, DC in 1950.

BACKGROUND: This systematic review investigates barriers and enablers to dental care utilization by disabled children. Given the high global prevalence of disabilities in children, coupled with poor oral hygiene and a 45% rate of dental caries in this group, developing inclusive oral health strategies is critical. The review aims to synthesize literature on factors affecting oral healthcare improvement for disabled children, identifying barriers, facilitators and knowledge gaps.

Introduction and Background
Detailed information about caregivers is crucial for planning disposition from emergency departments (EDs), but it is unclear what specific information is useful for ED clinicians and how that information should be presented.
Methods
We used a Design Thinking approach to develop a standardized format—which we call a “Best Possible Caregiver History” (BPCH)—for displaying useful caregiver information to ED clinicians. The key steps of this approach are needfinding, followed by iterative cycles of ideation, rapid prototyping, and testing. Work and energy are fundamental topics in physics. However, enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in these areas remains a challenge. This research aimed to develop and assess the validity and readability of e-modules designed with PjBL-STEAM and virtual simulation media to address this issue. The development process followed a 4D model, and the resulting e-modules were evaluated as strongly valid category. The validation tests yielded percentage scores of 91.6% for media, 89.3% for content, and 88.0% for lesson plans. Additionally, the readability test achieved a score of 84.6%, indicating a excellent level of comprehensibility. These findings suggest that the e-modules …

The weakness in students’ scientific argumentation, particularly in providing evidence-based arguments, has become a significant concern in education. This study aims to assess students’ scientific argumentation skills specifically on the topic of static fluids. The survey was conducted with 78 twelfth-grade students from private high schools in East Java, Indonesia, who had previously studied this topic. A scientific argumentation test instrument, consisting of an essay format with five questions, was employed to collect data. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, followed by a classification based on static fluid subtopics and the level of scientific argumentation skill. The results indicated …

This study investigates the factors influencing the achievement of competencies in the field of Fiber Optic Installation Engineering (TIFO) among vocational school graduates in Indonesia and their subsequent performance in the workforce. Utilizing a quantitative approach, the research examines the relationship between several key variables, including national examination scores, quality of infrastructure, teaching competence, and telecommunication systems subject scores. Path analysis structural equation modeling was employed to determine the direct and indirect effects of these variables on TIFO competency achievement and graduates’ performance. This study investigates the impact of implementing a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with Blended Learning on enhancing students’ collaborative abilities. Conducted in class XI of SMA Negeri Plus Riau Province during the 2021/2022 academic year, the research utilized a control group design to compare the collaborative skills of students in an experimental class, which employed the PBL model, with those in a control class. The study assessed four key indicators of collaborative ability: working productively, valuing opinions, compromising, and sharing responsibility. This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of virtual laboratories compared to real laboratories in improving students’ conceptual understanding of Archimedes’ principle. A quantitative approach was employed using a pretest-posttest design. The measurement instrument used in this study was a concept mastery test, consisting of 15 multiple-choice questions. Data were analyzed using an independent sample T-test. The research involved students from two XI IPA classes, each consisting of 33 students. The findings indicated that both virtual and real laboratories in the learning process could enhance students’ conceptual understanding. Bovine tuberculosis (bTB) is zoonotic disease of global concern, affecting both animal and human populations. To estimate the prevalence of bovine TB in District Dera Ismail Khan and identify associated risk factors. A total of 138 cattle from different herds were included in the survey, and diagnostic tests, including the tuberculin skin test and Ziehl Neelsen stain, were employed. The results revealed a high prevalence of bovine TB, with an estimated prevalence of 10.87 % in the study area. BACKGROUND: Pancreatic cancer is a serious, usually fatal disease and one of the most aggressive malignancies. Research into whether hormone replacement therapy (HRT) might protect against pancreatic cancer has yielded mixed results. This study aimed to investigate the potential association between HRT and the risk of pancreatic cancer in postmenopausal women.
METHODS: This population-based, retrospective study extracted data from the US National Inpatient Sample (NIS) 2008-2018. Hospitalized females aged ≥55 years were eligible for inclusion. Associations between HRT, other study variables, and pancreatic cancer diagnosis were determined using univariate and multivariable regression analyses.

This paper presents the results of an investigation into the influence of aggregate and binding material type on the mechanical properties of hardened concrete. Four different types of coarse aggregate (Brick Aggregate, Recycled Brick Aggregate, Black Stone and Shingles) and eight types of binding material have been used to perform this investigation. Aggregates were collected and prepared according to the grading requirements of ASTM C33-03. Several tests were performed for coarse aggregate, such as specific gravity, absorption capacity, unit weight, and abrasion resistance. This comprehensive scoping review aimed to identify and synthesize the existing research on professional development (PD) for educators and educational leaders in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) between 2018 and 2023. Fourteen scholarly articles covering a wide range of topics related to education in the UAE were collected and analyzed. The review revealed that PD initiatives in the UAE often focus on enhancing teacher effectiveness and leadership skills, particularly in the context of educational reforms and inclusive education practices. However, significant challenges were identified, including implementation gaps, cultural barriers, and resistance to centrally imposed PD programs. The findings suggest that …

In Singapore, the native language is also known as the Mother Tongue Language (MTL). Teachers of color face marginalization and microaggressions that their White counterparts do not have to face. African American teachers experience microaggressions pathologizing their cultural values and communication styles, cultural/ethnic insensitivity, an ascription of their intelligence, and being treated as second-class citizens) that are hurtful, undermining, and disparaging (Brown, 2019). Asian American teachers face gendered, racial, and sexualized expectations on their campuses (Endo, 2015). Transformational leadership (TL) is a leadership approach that inspires followers and encourages their effective engagement to contribute adequately to organizational goal achievement. By inspiring followers to pursue and attain exceptional performance levels, TL accrues high follower satisfaction in their jobs and with their organizations (Asencio, 2016; Banks et al., 2016; Barnett, 2017; Bass & Riggio, 2006). This study examined faculty perceptions/ratings of transformational leadership behaviors of their department chairs at two Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the southeastern United States.
