Lung nodules are frequently detected on low-dose computed tomography scans performed for lung cancer screening and incidentally detected on imaging performed for other reasons. There is wide variability in how lung nodules are managed by general practitioners and subspecialists, with high rates of guideline-discordant care. This may be due in part to the level of evidence underlying current practice guideline recommendations (primarily based on findings from uncontrolled studies of diagnostic accuracy). The primary aims of lung nodule management are to minimize harms of diagnostic evaluations while expediting the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of lung cancer. Potentially useful tools such as …

Low-dimensional hybrid organic–inorganic perovskites (HOIPs) are promising electronically active materials for light absorption and emission. The design space of HOIPs is extremely large, as a variety of organic cations can be combined with different inorganic frameworks. This not only allows for tunable electronic and mechanical properties but also necessitates the development of new tools for in silico high throughput analysis of candidate materials. In this work, we present an accurate, efficient, and widely applicable machine learning interatomic potential (MLIP) trained on 86 diverse experimentally reported HOIP materials. This MLIP was tested on 73 experimentally reported perovskite compositions and achieves a …
Doctoral-Level Practitioner’S Views And Opinions Regarding The Use Of Social Networking Sites In Criminal Responsibility Evaluations, Jillian Lafrance
Doctoral-Level Practitioner’S Views And Opinions Regarding The Use Of Social Networking Sites In Criminal Responsibility Evaluations, Jillian Lafrance
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
According to the Pew Research Center, there has been an increase in social networking site (SNS) usage by 72% since 2011. Due to the rise, researchers have undertaken studies on using the internet and SNS-based data with forensic assessments. However, researchers have not explored the views and opinions of professionals who conduct these evaluations, specifically regarding doctoral-level practitioners and criminal responsibility. Due to this, the American Psychological Association (APA) does not have specific guidelines on using SNS as a collateral source. This study involved one-on-one interviews with seven doctoral-level practitioners who conduct criminal responsibility evaluations on individuals 18 and older …

INTRODUCTION: Therapeutic nutrition plays an imperative role during a patient's hospital course. There is a tremendous body of literature that emphasizes the systematic delivery of information regarding hospital nutrition diets. A major component of delivering healthcare information is the principle of providing quality healthcare information, but this has not yet been investigated on hospital nutrition diets. This study aimed to evaluate the comprehension and readability of patient education materials regarding therapeutic hospital diets.
METHODOLOGY: The methodology employed the use of publicly available questions regarding hospital nutrition diets and categorized them per Rothwell's Classification of Questions. Additionally, the questions were extracted …

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Human brain aging is a complex process that affects various aspects of brain function and structure, increasing susceptibility to neurological and psychiatric disorders. A number of nongenetic (e.g., environmental and lifestyle) and genetic risk factors are found to contribute to the varying rates at which the brain ages among individuals.
METHODS: In this paper, we conducted both an exposome-wide association study (XWAS) and a genome-wide association study (GWAS) on white matter brain aging in the UK Biobank, revealing the multifactorial nature of brain aging. We applied a machine learning algorithm and leveraged fractional anisotropy tract measurements from diffusion tensor …

As a result, this research was undertaken to …
Emancipation From Disabling Perplexities Towards Church Resilience: The Tale Of Quiapo Church, George Vincent Gamayo
Emancipation From Disabling Perplexities Towards Church Resilience: The Tale Of Quiapo Church, George Vincent Gamayo
Asia-Pacific Social Science Review
The Philippines ranks as one of the topmost vulnerable countries to climate change, prompting the government to harmonize proactive disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) efforts across private, public, and non-governmental organizations. However, many Catholic parishes in the country are still more active in responding to, restoring, and recovering from disasters, which is commendable but not preventive. Using a Filipino social research framework Alfonso (1992) developed called socially shared inquiry (SSI), this study investigates Quiapo Church’s issues in DRRM and how its volunteers and parishioners find solutions. The self-reflexive approach utilized in this study enabled the reframing of disabling cognitions …
