The Amount Of Determination Of Some Bio-Kinematic Variables In The Accuracy Of The Skill Of Aiming When Jumping High With A Handball, Zubaida Salah Hadi
Modern Sport
The introduction to the research summarized that the most important science that contributed to the progress of movement in the sports field is biomechanics, as studying movement according to scientific foundations requires knowledge of the laws and mechanical factors affecting the motor performance of sports events. Therefore, those working in the sports field were interested in studying, analyzing, evaluating and developing skills through diagnosing areas of strength and weakness in these skills in order to improve the level of technical performance. The problem with the research is that most players lack full awareness and understanding of how to invest in …

Silica and silicate scale deposition in the production systems resulted in reduced production rates and equipment damages. Chemical scale inhibition using squeeze method is advantageous for petroleum reservoir conditions. This paper aims to assess the adsorption and squeeze performance of developed scale inhibitors that consist of polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimers and pteroyl-L-glutamic acid (PGLU). Commercial inhibitor, diethylenetriamine penta(methylene phosphonic acid), also known as DETPMP, was also used to benchmark the laboratory findings. Static adsorption test and core flooding were performed to investigate the adsorption characteristics and retention of the inhibitors in Berea sandstone cores. Simulation was also conducted to estimate the …

Platform: A Journal of Engineering (PAJE)
The oil and gas industry faces significant challenges due to pipeline corrosion, resulting in substantial economic losses and safety risks. This study investigates the effectiveness of smart coatings containing varying concentrations of benzotriazole-loaded halloysite nanotubes (BTA-HNT) and boiled linseed oil microcapsules (MCs) in mitigating corrosion and to investigate the impact of different mixing techniques on the performance of these coatings. Epoxy coatings incorporating BTA-HNT and MCs were applied to carbon steel substrates in concentrations of 10 wt%, 15 wt%, and 20 wt%. Two mixing methods, magnetic stirring and sonication, were assessed for their ability to disperse the microcapsules effectively. Characterisation …

Barriers And Facilitators To Dental Care Services Utilization Among Children With Disabilities: A Systematic Review And Thematic Synthesis, Shiamaa Al-Mashhadani, Mona Nasser, Anas Alsalami, Lorna Burns, Martha Paisi
Peninsula Dental School
BACKGROUND: This systematic review investigates barriers and enablers to dental care utilization by disabled children. Given the high global prevalence of disabilities in children, coupled with poor oral hygiene and a 45% rate of dental caries in this group, developing inclusive oral health strategies is critical. The review aims to synthesize literature on factors affecting oral healthcare improvement for disabled children, identifying barriers, facilitators and knowledge gaps.
METHODS: The review was conducted following the Joanna Briggs Institute's methods and reported according to PRISMA guidelines. A comprehensive search spanned multiple databases, considering perspectives from carers, parents, dentists and health professionals. The …

Designing A Best Possible Caregiver History To Facilitate Disposition Planning For Older Adults In Emergency Departments, Karen De Sola-Smith, Matthew Growdon, Anita N. Chary, Jennifer D. Portz, Kenneth Lam
Journal of Geriatric Emergency Medicine
Introduction and Background
Detailed information about caregivers is crucial for planning disposition from emergency departments (EDs), but it is unclear what specific information is useful for ED clinicians and how that information should be presented.
Methods
We used a Design Thinking approach to develop a standardized format—which we call a “Best Possible Caregiver History” (BPCH)—for displaying useful caregiver information to ED clinicians. The key steps of this approach are needfinding, followed by iterative cycles of ideation, rapid prototyping, and testing. For needfinding, we used semi-structured interviews of four ED clinicians on current practices for discovering and documenting caregiver information. For …

Work and energy are fundamental topics in physics. However, enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in these areas remains a challenge. This research aimed to develop and assess the validity and readability of e-modules designed with PjBL-STEAM and virtual simulation media to address this issue. The development process followed a 4D model, and the resulting e-modules were evaluated as strongly valid category. The validation tests yielded percentage scores of 91.6% for media, 89.3% for content, and 88.0% for lesson plans. Additionally, the readability test achieved a score of 84.6%, indicating a excellent level of comprehensibility. These findings suggest that the e-modules …

Exploration Of Students’ Scientific Argumentation Skills On Static Fluid Topics, Trio Junira Fernando, Parno Parno, Markus Diantoro
Jurnal Pendidikan Sains
The weakness in students’ scientific argumentation, particularly in providing evidence-based arguments, has become a significant concern in education. This study aims to assess students’ scientific argumentation skills specifically on the topic of static fluids. The survey was conducted with 78 twelfth-grade students from private high schools in East Java, Indonesia, who had previously studied this topic. A scientific argumentation test instrument, consisting of an essay format with five questions, was employed to collect data. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, followed by a classification based on static fluid subtopics and the level of scientific argumentation skill. The results indicated …

Privacy Risks And Regulatory Challenges In Smart Grids And Renewable Energy Systems, Mikołaj Rajca
internetowy Kwartalnik Antymonopolowy i Regulacyjny (internet Quarterly on Antitrust and Regulation)
Smart grid technologies are central to the global shift towards a more efficient and sustainable energy infrastructure, integrating advanced digital systems with traditional power networks. While these technologies offer significant benefits, including enhanced energy management and the seamless integration of renewable energy sources, they also introduce complex privacy challenges. The extensive data collection and real-time communication capabilities inherent in smart grids raise concerns over consumer privacy, data breaches, and cybersecurity threats. This paper critically examines these privacy risks within the context of evolving regulatory frameworks such as the GDPR, NIS2 Directive, and the forthcoming EU AI Act. The discussion emphasizes …
