Throughout American history, examinations of ethnicity have mainly focused on a binary of Black and White (White, 2007, p. 339). Little study has been conducted on the nation's ethnic minorities, including Arabs, Jews, Asians, Micronesians, Melanesians, and Polynesians. The White race has effectively become the nation's default race (Khoshneviss, 2018, p. 19). Furthermore, research on the experiences of individuals of mixed ethnicity, particularly in education, remains limited. Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is the most common sustained cardiac arrhythmia and carries important therapeutic implications, particularly regarding anticoagulation and stroke prevention. However, AFib remains frequently misdiagnosed, often due to overreliance on automated electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretations and failure to recognize alternative causes of rhythm irregularity. This review highlights the fundamental ECG characteristics required for the diagnosis of AFib and emphasizes that not all irregular rhythms represent atrial fibrillation. In this study, olive pomace (OP), an abundant agro-industrial by-product, was incorporated into a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) matrix at loadings of 0–20 wt.% to develop sustainable polymer composites. The influence of OP loading on the physical, mechanical, structural, and thermal properties of the composites was systematically investigated. Increasing OP loading resulted in elevated moisture content and water absorption, attributed to the hydrophilic nature of the lignocellulosic filler. Composite density and Shore D hardness exhibited a progressive increase with OP loading. In contrast, tensile and impact properties remained statistically not significantly changed at 5 wt.% OP loading, while higher filler loadings …

Objectives: To examine patient activation levels among Arabic-speaking adults with epilepsy and to explore their associations with selected clinical and sociodemographic variables.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study of 109 adult patients with confirmed epilepsy between December 2023 and October 2025. Data were collected during outpatient clinic visits, with additional information obtained through telephone contact when necessary. A sample size estimate indicated that at least 96 participants were required to achieve 80% statistical power. Quaternary glaciogenic deposits, which serve as vital groundwater aquifers, are often partially cemented with carbonate minerals, but the timing of emplacement of these cements and their geochemical conditions of formation remain understudied. Here, we integrated petrography, δ¹⁸O, Mg/Ca, and clumped isotope (Δ₄₇) data from two calcitecemented outcrops in western Michigan (USA) to investigate the origin of glacial sediment cements. The two sites have contrasting topographic and textural settings reflecting distinct formation conditions. Specifically, I examine how the Biafran digital commemorative culture functions as memorialization and political action. The Alabama Legislative Commission to Preserve the Peace, also called the Peace Commission, was an investigative agency created by the Alabama state legislature in 1963. It was abolished in 1975. During its existence it investigated and created reports on a variety of targets engaged in civil rights activism, communism, or anything the Commission deemed “un-American.” In this thesis, I argue that the Peace Commission was an unusual example of a southern nationalist institution in the Cold War south because of the timing of its creation, the opposition it faced, its small size and budget, and its unsuccessful conflict with the …
