This study investigates the difficulties that expatriates encounter while relocating to a foreign cultural environment. The examination of the issue is based on the results of primary research conducted among the Japanese community living and working in Hungary. Many circumstances make it difficult for an expat to feel at ease in the host country. Integration and thus the success of the posting are greatly hampered by overcoming cultural differences as well as linguistic challenges in a non-English speaking country. The high demand for ambulance services at the 119 Public Safety Center of the DKI Jakarta Health Office, including in the Administrative District of the Kepulauan Seribu, highlights the importance of providing water ambulances. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Water Ambulance Service by the DKI Jakarta Health Office using the Context, Input, Process, Product (CIPP) program evaluation approach. Using a qualitative approach, primary and secondary data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document review. The process of improving the strength of granular soil by utilising microorganisms is known as the biocementation process. This method involves the precipitation of calcium carbonate into the soil matrix structure through microbial calcite precipitation, resulting in the cementation of soil particles and subsequent improvement in strength and reduced permeability. This study investigated the potential of using Sporosarcina pasteurii, a microorganism strain with urease activity, to stabilise residual soil through urea hydrolysis. The study explores the enhancement of geotechnical characteristics of lateritic soil sourced from a popular burrow pit site in Kano State, Nigeria, by incorporating Periwinkle Shell Ash (PSA). The soil sample was mixed with 0 to 10% PSA content at 2% increment by dry weight of the lateritic soil. The prepared samples were subjected to natural moisture content, specific gravity, particle size analysis, Atterberg limits, compaction California bearing ratio (CBR), and unconfined compressive strength (UCS) tests following standard procedure outlined in BS1337 (1990), BS1924 (1990), and ASTM D3282. This study aims to develop and analyse the effect of single- and double-layer smart coating systems on enhancing the corrosion protection of carbon steel pipelines in oil and gas applications, addressing the challenge of corrosion in such harsh environments. Benzotriazole (BTA) is loaded into halloysite nanotubes (HNT) using a vacuum cyclic method to form BTA-HNT, and boiled linseed oil (BLO) is encapsulated within urea-formaldehyde microcapsules, referred to as MC-BLO. Most OWC studies focus on high-wave density areas, but there is limited research in low-wave density regions. This study evaluates the hydrodynamic efficiency of a 1:40 scale offshore OWC model in low-wave climates. Experiments were conducted using five different relative gaps (i/d) between the model and horizontal bottom plates, each with three distinct shapes (cone-shaped, circular-shaped, and flat), across seven wave periods in a wave flume. This study investigates the impact of implementing a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with Blended Learning on enhancing students’ collaborative abilities. Conducted in class XI of SMA Negeri Plus Riau Province during the 2021/2022 academic year, the research utilized a control group design to compare the collaborative skills of students in an experimental class, which employed the PBL model, with those in a control class. The study assessed four key indicators of collaborative ability: working productively, valuing opinions, compromising, and sharing responsibility. This study investigates the factors influencing the achievement of competencies in the field of Fiber Optic Installation Engineering (TIFO) among vocational school graduates in Indonesia and their subsequent performance in the workforce. Utilizing a quantitative approach, the research examines the relationship between several key variables, including national examination scores, quality of infrastructure, teaching competence, and telecommunication systems subject scores. Path analysis structural equation modeling was employed to determine the direct and indirect effects of these variables on TIFO competency achievement and graduates’ performance. Work and energy are fundamental topics in physics. However, enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in these areas remains a challenge. This research aimed to develop and assess the validity and readability of e-modules designed with PjBL-STEAM and virtual simulation media to address this issue. The development process followed a 4D model, and the resulting e-modules were evaluated as strongly valid category. The validation tests yielded percentage scores of 91.6% for media, 89.3% for content, and 88.0% for lesson plans. Additionally, the readability test achieved a score of 84.6%, indicating a excellent level of comprehensibility. These findings suggest that the e-modules …

Primary intraocular lymphoma (PIOL) is a rare form of primary central nervous system lymphoma that poses diagnostic challenges due to its nonspecific clinical features and complex imaging characteristics. This paper presents a focus case and two companion cases, highlighting the complexities in identifying and treating PIOL. In the focus case, A 66-year-old male experienced gradual painless vision loss with choroidal thickening on funduscopic exam and subsequent follow-up MRI. Trans-vitreal biopsy confirmed PIOL, and the patient was treated with intravitreal steroids and systemic rituximab without recurrence. The COVID-19 pandemic presented unprecedented challenges particularly among group homes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) given the close interactions and living arrangements of residents. Thus, the purpose of this project was to determine if an educational intervention focused on COVID-19 and COVID-19 infection control practices increased knowledge and awareness among caregivers working in a group home. A total of 10 individuals who worked as a caregiver in a group home agreed to participate in the educational intervention. Their average age was 43.30 (SD = 8.65), ranging from 31 to 57 years old. Punitive disciplinary approaches have been used for decades in primary grades with little improvement in behavior and negative impacts on classroom climate. This qualitative case study explored the perspectives of administrators and educators implementing restorative practice (RP) with fidelity in the primary grades of urban public elementary schools. The study addressed the restorative principles of norm setting, community-building circles, restorative chats, and restorative conferences for implementing restorative justice with fidelity. This comprehensive scoping review aimed to identify and synthesize the existing research on professional development (PD) for educators and educational leaders in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) between 2018 and 2023. Fourteen scholarly articles covering a wide range of topics related to education in the UAE were collected and analyzed. The review revealed that PD initiatives in the UAE often focus on enhancing teacher effectiveness and leadership skills, particularly in the context of educational reforms and inclusive education practices. However, significant challenges were identified, including implementation gaps, cultural barriers, and resistance to centrally imposed PD programs. The findings suggest that …

Consumption of sweetened drinks is the most dominant factor in the incidence of diabetes mellitus in Indonesia. Indonesia ranks third highest in Southeast Asia in sweetened drink consumption. In this primer, authors Jess Carson and Harshita Sarup discuss New Hampshire’s “supply” of child care. Licensed child care centers make up the majority of New Hampshire’s early care and education landscape, although family needs are also met through licensed home-based providers, unlicensed providers like relatives, and federal programs like Head Start. Between 2017 and 2024, New Hampshire gained about 2,100 slots among providers serving children under age 5, despite losing 13 percent of licensed providers serving that age group. These closures consolidated available supply into fewer, larger child care centers. This consolidation further exacerbates the state’s uneven capacity to …

In this primer, authors Rebecca Glauber and Jess Carson discuss New Hampshire’s child care workforce. They report that New Hampshire child care workers are more likely than other workers to have at least some college experience, but they earn far less. Annual earnings among full-time child care workers are just $32,310, about half those of other workers in the state. Although child care and early educators express high job satisfaction, the field is subject to turnover and short staffing as workers seek opportunities that better match their education and the cost of living in New Hampshire. BACKGROUND: This systematic review investigates barriers and enablers to dental care utilization by disabled children. Given the high global prevalence of disabilities in children, coupled with poor oral hygiene and a 45% rate of dental caries in this group, developing inclusive oral health strategies is critical. The review aims to synthesize literature on factors affecting oral healthcare improvement for disabled children, identifying barriers, facilitators and knowledge gaps.
