Study Of The Synthesis Mechanism And Some Properties Of Oligomers Based On Epichlorohydrin And Diphenylguanidine, Rovshan Israilovich Ismailov, Normuhamad Edgarov, Alisher Israilovich Ismailov Oct 2024

Study Of The Synthesis Mechanism And Some Properties Of Oligomers Based On Epichlorohydrin And Diphenylguanidine, Rovshan Israilovich Ismailov, Normuhamad Edgarov, Alisher Israilovich Ismailov

Technical science and innovation

In this work, the synthesis and the scheme for obtaining an oligomer based on epiiodhydrin with diphenylguanidine were studied, the proportions of epiiodhydrin in the initial mixture, the yield of oligomers, and the reduced viscosity were studied. The results of spectroscopic and elemental analyzes are obtained, which show that changes in the ratio of monomers have almost no effect on the iodine content in the oligomer. This is apparently due to the fact that epiiodhydrin is much more active in reactions than amino compounds. By studying the degree of conversion on the viscosity of the oligomerization products, the effects on …

Possibility Of Applying Methods Of Analysis And Synthesis Of Linear Electrical Circuits To Some Nonlinear Circuits, Qudrat Gayratovich Abidov, Anvar Ismatullaevich Rahmatullaev, Mexrnoz Odiljonovna Gafurova

Technical science and innovation

This article discusses the possibility of applying the analysis and calculation methods used in linear electric circuits to certain nonlinear circuits. It is shown that if we abandon the quantitative criteria for the analysis and synthesis of nonlinear circuits using linear principles, some problems in nonlinear electrical engineering can be correctly solved based on linear theory. As an example, the simplest ferroresonant voltage stabilizer is considered, using the method of superposition and the equivalence of ferroresonant circuits in series and parallel connections. The electrical diagram is shown, and a formula for the stabilization coefficient is derived, representing a complex nonlinear …

Maintaining Diverse Collections In The Face Of Book Challenges, Amanda Walch, Zeineb Yousif Oct 2024

Maintaining Diverse Collections In The Face Of Book Challenges, Amanda Walch, Zeineb Yousif

Librarian Posters and Presentations

In recent years, there has been a surge of attempts to censor library books across America, leading to record numbers of challenges in 2022 and 2023. According to ALA, in 2023 titles representing the voices and lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals made up 47% of those targeted in censorship attempts. These represent the tip of the iceberg as documented book challenges do not include self-censorship on the part of publishers (such as Scholastic's controversial attempt to segregate diverse titles in 2023) or by librarians making purchasing decisions in hostile environments. The EDI Committee will be discussing censorship from …

Proceedings Of The 2022 “Lifestyle Intervention For Epilepsy (Life)” Symposium Hosted By Cleveland Clinic, Martha Sajatovic

Faculty Scholarship

Lifestyle interventions are strategies used to self-manage medical conditions, such as epilepsy, and often complement traditional pharmacologic and surgical therapies. The need for integrating evidence-based lifestyle interventions into mainstream medicine for the treatment of epilepsy is evident given that despite the availability of a multitude of treatments with medications and surgical techniques, a significant proportion of patients have refractory seizures, and even those who are seizure-free report significant adverse effects with current treatments. Although the evidence base for complementary medicine is less robust than it is for traditional forms of medicine, the evidence to date suggests that several forms of …

Faculty, Staff and Student Publications

Tumors frequently display high chromosomal instability and contain multiple copies of genomic regions. Here, we describe Gain Route Identification and Timing In Cancer (GRITIC), a generic method for timing genomic gains leading to complex copy number states, using single-sample bulk whole-genome sequencing data. By applying GRITIC to 6,091 tumors, we found that non-parsimonious evolution is frequent in the formation of complex copy number states in genome-doubled tumors. We measured chromosomal instability before and after genome duplication in human tumors and found that late genome doubling was followed by an increase in the rate of copy number gain. Copy number gains …

Multiregion Light Control In Diffusive Media Via Wavefront Shaping, Liam Shaughnessy, Rohin E. Mcintosh, Arthur Goetschy, Chia Wei Hsu, Nicholas Bender, Hasan Yllmaz, Alexey Yamilov, Hui Cao

Physics Faculty Research & Creative Works

Wavefront shaping allows focusing light through or inside strongly scattering media, but the background intensity also increases which reduces the target's contrast. By combining transmission or deposition matrices for different regions, we construct joint operators to achieve spatially resolved control of light in diffusive systems. The eigenmode of a contrast operator can maximize the power contrast between a target and its surrounding. A difference operator enhances the power delivery to a target while avoiding the background increase. This work opens the door to coherent control of nonlocal effects in wave transport for practical applications.
