Surface waters are vulnerable to contamination by human and animal feces, posing risks to human health due to potential exposure to enteric pathogens. This research developed a colorimetric loop-mediated isothermal amplification (cLAMP) assay to detect sewage associated Bacteroides dorei HF183/BacR287 (HF183) marker in wastewater and environmental water samples. The host sensitivity and host specificity of the assay were evaluated, and their performance was compared to the Bacteroides HF183 qPCR assay using control materials (gBlocks), environmental water samples seeded with untreated sewage, and ambient environmental water samples. This study examined the effectiveness of laboratory short-term aging processes for warm mix asphalt (WMA) binders using response surface methodology (RSM) with various combinations of aging parameters: time, temperature, airflow, and binder weight. The research aimed to enhance understanding of aging parameter efficacy and propose a modified laboratory short-term aging protocol that accurately simulates plant short-term aging in WMA binders. Additionally, the study explored the potential of thermal simulation techniques to model the heat transfer within asphalt mixtures during the compaction procedure. ينطلق البحث من لاهوت الجسد كما طوّره قداسة البابا يوحنّا بولس الثاني، ولا سيّما من خلال تعاليمه في لقاءات الأربعاء (1979-1984)، حيث يؤكّد على التمايز والمساواة بين الرجل والمرأة ضمن وحدة الطبيعة البشريّة. فقد خلق الله الرجل والمرأة متمايزين ومتساويين في الكرامة، ودعاهما إلى الاتّحاد كجسد واحد بحسب قصد الله الخالق. يفسّر لاهوت الجسد هذا الاتّحاد بوصفه أساس الزواج والعائلة، ويبرز تمايز الإنسان عن الخليقة وتكريمه بكرامة فريدة. وقد أعطى المسيح المعنى النهائيّ للجسدانيّة من خلال عطاء الذات في الزواج والخدمة بالمحبّة، مساهمًا في تكوين حضارة العائلة والأخوّة. كما أنّ الجسد البشريّ مدعوّ إلى القيامة الأخيرة.‏

Purpose: Serum cytokine alterations are associated with increased Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia (SAB) mortality. Unfortunately, clinical use of these cytokines is uncommon due to limited availability and high cost. Complete blood count (CBC) with differential reflects the host immune response, and CBC subgroup parameters may have prognostic value in SAB. We sought to determine the association between CBC subgroup parameters on the day of index blood culture and 30-day all-cause mortality in SAB patients.

This study focuses on the ionic contribution by a chiral dopant added into a nematic host for preparing cholesteric liquid crystals (CLCs). Chiral structures were designated by individually incorporating two enantiomers, R5011 and S5011, into the nematic E44 to construct right- and left-handed CLCs, respectively. Characterized by the space-charge polarization, the dielectric spectra of the CLCs were investigated in the low-frequency regime, where f ≤ 1 kHz. Purpose: Managing wounds often requires frequent clinic visits, posing a burden on both patients and the healthcare system. Shared wound care, which encourages patients to manage dressings at home, has emerged as a potential solution. This study investigates factors influencing self-wound care adoption in Singapore.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey involving 328 participants from six primary healthcare centers was conducted. The survey examined demographics, wound characteristics, and perceptions towards shared wound care using a locally validated questionnaire. Parametric tests and logistic regression were used to analyze the data.

A series of bismuth doped lithium strontium borate glasses are synthetized using melt-quench technique. Compositional modification resulted in the maximum refractive index (2.306) and lowest optical bandgap (3.36 eV) for 2 mol% of Bi2O3. Raman as well as FTIR investigations reveal the presence of diborate, dipentaborate and metaborate ring type structural units and structural interconversions occur between diborate and metaborate rings. These structural interconversions are in support of the trends observed in linear and non-linear optical properties. Its architecture ends the Coalition Period (AD 1200-1325) and begins the the Classic (AD 1325-1600), a time of population growth and prosperity, trade expansion and diversity, all due to major agricultural innovations unique to the Valley. منذ أن نشأت الكنيسة كمؤسّسة مستقلّة عن السلطة السياسيّة، وهي في الوقت نفسه تعلن رسالة تتعلّق بالإنسان والمجتمع البشري، أصبحت علاقتها بالدولة إشكاليّة لا مفرّ منها. فلا يمكن للسلطة السياسيّة أن تتجاهل الكنيسة، كما لا يمكن للكنيسة أن تتّخذ موقف اللامبالاة تجاه السلطة السياسيّة. غير أنّ رسم حدود نشاط كلٍّ من المؤسّستين ليس بالأمر اليسير، ولا سيّما عندما يتعلّق الأمر بتحديد غاية السلطة السياسيّة نفسها. لكن هذه العلاقة المتقلّبة، بسبب الظروف المتغيّرة للحياة الإنسانيّة، يمكن أن تكون حيويّة للمجتمع. ويتوسّع الكاتب في هذه الإشكاليّات في ضوء خبرة الكنيسة الكاثوليكيّة داخل المجتمع الواحد.‏
