A Zintl-phase K₂AgSb ternary compound has been investigated using density functional theory (DFT) on its structural, electronic, mechanical, thermophysical, and optical properties. Various exchange-correlation functionals have been employed, including the local density approximation (LDA) and generalised gradient approximation (GGA). Regularised strongly constrained and appropriately normed (RSCAN) and Tran-Blaha modified Becke-Johnson (TB-mBJ) functionals were utilised to enhance the accuracy of electronic structure predictions. The computed band gap values were 1.1601 eV and 1.2559 eV using LDA and GGA approximations, respectively. In contrast, more refined estimates of 1.5274 eV and 1.8917 eV were obtained using the RSCAN and TB-mBJ functionals. Machine …

A comprehensive first-principles study was conducted to explore the structural, electronic, mechanical, thermophysical, and optical properties of a Zintl-phase K2AgBi ternary semiconductor compound using density functional theory. The calculations employed the local density approximation (LDA), generalized gradient approximation (GGA), and meta-GGA methods. The computed negative formation energies proved the thermodynamic stability of the K2AgBi ternary compound. The computed bandgap values were 0.6732 and 0.7848 eV for the LDA and GGA, respectively. More refined bandgap estimates were obtained using meta-GGA methods, with the Tran–Blaha modified Becke–Johnson potential yielding 0.9346 eV and the revised strongly constrained and appropriately …

Introduction: Most farmers in Nigeria lack knowledge of their farmland’s nutrient content, often relying on intuition for crop cultivation. Even when aware, they struggle to interpret soil information, leading to improper fertilizer application, which can degrade soil and ground water quality. Traditional soil nutrient analysis requires field sample collection and laboratory analysis; a tedious and timeconsuming process. Digital Soil Mapping (DSM) leverages Machine Learning (ML) to create detailed soil maps, helping mitigate nutrient depletion. Despite its growing use, existing DSM-based ML methods face challenges in prediction accuracy and data representation. Aim: This study presents GeaGrow, an innovative mobile app that …
