Through The Lens Of Expanded Scope Of Practice: Training Requirements For Pharmacist-Prescribed Contraception Across The United States, Taylor Clark, Ioana Sandru, Samantha Kunkel, Sarah Lynch Jun 2026

Through The Lens Of Expanded Scope Of Practice: Training Requirements For Pharmacist-Prescribed Contraception Across The United States, Taylor Clark, Ioana Sandru, Samantha Kunkel, Sarah Lynch

Pharmacy Faculty Scholarship

Thirty-one U.S. states and the District of Columbia currently authorize pharmacists to prescribe hormonal contraception. Expansion of pharmacist scope of practice into areas such as contraceptive prescribing represents an extension beyond traditional baseline licensure authority. As a result, jurisdictions frequently require additional training to address competency, patient safety, and liability considerations. Because regulation of pharmacy practice occurs at the state level, training requirements vary across jurisdictions. State boards of pharmacy websites and publicly available regulatory materials were reviewed to identify training requirements for pharmacists authorized to prescribe hormonal contraception. Relevant statutes, regulations, and prescribing protocols were examined. Identified requirements were …

Tribal Nations As Lords Of The Fee: A Common Law Argument For Tribal Discretion In Spending Federal Forfeiture Funds, Kent A. Anderson Jun 2026

Tribal Nations As Lords Of The Fee: A Common Law Argument For Tribal Discretion In Spending Federal Forfeiture Funds, Kent A. Anderson

American Indian Law Journal

Federal criminal forfeiture is a powerful tool meeting at the nexus of criminal law and property law. Courts justify its use based on its English common law history. After seizing and selling assets, the federal government doles out payments from its Assets Forfeiture Fund to cooperating law enforcement agencies through equitable sharing agreements that bind recipients to use funds for law enforcement purposes. Tribal Nations have compelling legal and policy arguments for their entitlement to greater access to and discretion over forfeiture funds obtained through seizures in Indian country. These legal arguments are grounded in: (1) federal criminal forfeiture’s failure …

Doing Doctorates Differently: Creating A Multi-Dimensional Doctoral Object, Claire Walsh Jun 2026

Doing Doctorates Differently: Creating A Multi-Dimensional Doctoral Object, Claire Walsh

School of Law, Humanities and Social Sciences

Creating a 'multi-dimensional doctoral object' was a creative research activity developed for Doing Doctorates Differently. The piece explored how doctoral thought might be encountered as a material, spatial and dimensional object rather than only as written argument. Working with fragments from five years of doctoral notes, the activity considered how a thesis accumulates, tears, folds, exceeds, and re-forms through the pressures of study. The work asks what happens when a doctorate is not treated as a linear document moving toward completion, but as a multi-dimensional object in formation: part archive, part method, part conceptual experiment. Through acts of cutting, arranging, layering …

Ai Insurance Chatbots And Phygital Service Engagement: The Triadic Impact Of Trust-Anxiety-Complexity- On Aging Consumers, Rajat Subhra Chatterjee, Bindu Singh, Ranjan Chaudhuri, Sheshadri Chatterjee, Demetris Vrontis, Pantea Foroudi

Plymouth Business School

This study examines elderly consumers’ perceptions of the design of AI insurance chatbot services in a phygital context. Drawing on the extended reality technology (ERT) framework and the stimulus–organism–response (SOR) model, it explores the cognitive–affective dynamics shaping chatbot adoption in a sensitive service setting. Data were collected from 396 elderly consumers of major insurance companies in Malaysia and analysed using structural equation modelling to assess mediating and moderating effects. Findings show that perceived trust critically mediates the relationship between cognitive factors and chatbot adoption. Technology anxiety and perceived complexity strongly moderate the trust–usage relationship, confirming a triadic interaction. The study …

3100 Brighton 2nd Street Owner Llc V Iavarone Jun 2026

3100 Brighton 2nd Street Owner Llc V Iavarone

All Decisions

In this nonpayment proceeding, the tenant's rent-stabilized apartment showed an unexplained DHCR rent increase of more than 200% between tenancies about 15 years ago. The court grants the tenant's motion for discovery, holding that although such lookback discovery would once have required a colorable claim of fraud, recent changes in the law make this rent history information discoverable and relevant.

All Decisions

In this nonpayment proceeding involving a RAD/PACT-converted building, the court grants the tenant partial summary judgment. NYCHA records showed the tenant's lease began November 1, 2024, so arrears predating that date are dismissed without prejudice and severed for a separate plenary action against the former tenant of record - the tenant's now-deceased mother.

Windermere Owners, Llc V. Tarantino Jun 2026

Windermere Owners, Llc V. Tarantino

All Decisions

In this rent-stabilized holdover for failure to sign a renewal lease, the court grants respondent's motion to dismiss because the lease offer was improper: the landlord did not truly offer the option of choosing a one- or two-year term, the proposed lease was on a form not approved by DHCR, and the landlord instructed respondent to return the lease within 10 days (contrary to the RSC). The court rejects respondent's argument that she is not obligated to sign a lease as a rent-stabilized SRO tenant, and denies her motion to consolidate for failure to identify common issues of law and …

A Large Language Model-Based Analysis Of Vulnerability Discovery In Windows Software, Puya Pakshad, Samson Quaye, Jamal Al-Karaki, Marwan Omar, Maurice E. Dawson Jun 2026

A Large Language Model-Based Analysis Of Vulnerability Discovery In Windows Software, Puya Pakshad, Samson Quaye, Jamal Al-Karaki, Marwan Omar, Maurice E. Dawson

All Works

Source code security auditing is essential before software release in order to identify programming faults that may lead to vulnerabilities and functional failures. In this paper, we present a structured security assessment of the Windows App SDK by integrating multiple static analysis tools with a context-aware and disagreement-aware Large Language Model (LLM) interpretation layer. Although static analyzers are effective in reporting potential weaknesses, their raw outputs often contain redundant alerts, limited contextual explanation, and inconsistent severity assignments. To address these limitations, the proposed LLM-based interpretation layer normalizes and de-duplicates alerts, filters context-limited or nonactionable warnings, and refines severity prioritization under …

Social Influencers Reduce Infection Burden And Modify Epidemic Lag In Group-Structured Populations, Aja Sutton, Adam Z. Reynolds, Matthew A. Turner, James Holland Jones Jun 2026

Social Influencers Reduce Infection Burden And Modify Epidemic Lag In Group-Structured Populations, Aja Sutton, Adam Z. Reynolds, Matthew A. Turner, James Holland Jones

Publications, Reports and Presentations

The impact of online social influence on social learning, health behaviour and population health is a new, rapidly developing area of study. Previous research focused specifically on digital influencers suggests they may be able to affect group-level diffusion of health-protective behaviours such that they modify epidemic outcomes. However, formal models have yet to test the intuitive hypothesis that the effect of digital influencers is sufficient to generate tangible real-world effects on epidemics. We develop an agent-based model that incorporates digital influencers into an epidemic scenario to test hypotheses about how competing influence messages affect the diffusion of health-protective behaviours throughout …

Generating Live Heatmaps Of Edr Data Through A Spatiotemporal Weighting, Joel T. Williams, C. Sean Bohun, Alberto Fornaci, Michael R. Lindstrom Jun 2026

Generating Live Heatmaps Of Edr Data Through A Spatiotemporal Weighting, Joel T. Williams, C. Sean Bohun, Alberto Fornaci, Michael R. Lindstrom

School of Mathematical & Statistical Sciences Faculty Publications

This paper introduces a novel method for generating live heatmaps of eddy dissipation rate (EDR) data through a spatiotemporal weighting designed to enhance turbulence visualization in aviation. As more flight data become available, approaches relying solely on in-flight EDR measurements have the potential to accurately nowcast and visualize turbulence with low computational cost. The proposed method significantly improves the turbulence visualization capabilities of common commercial aircraft. This is particularly valuable for pilot decision-making and trip planning, enhancing flight safety and operational efficiency. This approach also incorporates an innovative uncertainty threshold, which refrains from predicting when there are insufficient data, thereby …

Mimica, Sean Lai, Gurprasaad Hora, Stephanie Campos Jun 2026

Mimica, Sean Lai, Gurprasaad Hora, Stephanie Campos

Computer Science and Engineering Senior Theses

Language barriers remain a significant obstacle to natural human communication, limiting access to healthcare, business, travel, and daily social interaction for billions of people worldwide. Existing translation solutions such as smartphone applications and earpiece devices address the functional problem of converting words between languages but fail to preserve the speaker’s voice identity, require hands-on interaction, or depend on proprietary device ecosystems. These limitations disrupt the natural flow of conversation and reduce the human quality of cross-lingual communication.

Mimica is a real-time wearable translation necklace designed to address these shortcomings. Built around an ESP32-S3 microcontroller with an integrated microphone and speaker, …

Life-Stage Specific Predatory Efficiency Of 2 Generalist Predators Of Bemisia Tabaci (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), Itohan Aigbedion-Atalor, Abdelmutalab G. Azrag, Alvin M. Simmons, Jason M. Schmidt Jun 2026

Life-Stage Specific Predatory Efficiency Of 2 Generalist Predators Of Bemisia Tabaci (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), Itohan Aigbedion-Atalor, Abdelmutalab G. Azrag, Alvin M. Simmons, Jason M. Schmidt

All Peer-Reviewed Publications

Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) is an economically damaging invasive pest to global vegetable production. Current management strategies rely heavily on insecticides, but increasing levels of resistance raise sustainability concerns. Therefore, strengthening integrated pest management (IPM) programs requires enhancing biocontrol through improved predator-pest interactions. Despite the well-established relevance of functional response modulation by multiple environmental factors, limited research has explored how plant traits and prey life stages interact to influence the efficiency of generalist predators in vegetable systems. To address this gap, we evaluated the functional responses of 2 adult generalist predators, Hippodamia convergens (Guérin-Méneville) and Geocoris punctipes (Say), against 3 nymphal …

Body Mass Index, Clinical Outcomes, And Mortality In Heart Failure: A Mendelian Randomization Study, Nicholas Sunderland, Douglas L Mann, Et Al.

2020-Current year OA Pubs

BACKGROUND: Excess adiposity, most commonly indexed through body mass index (BMI), is strongly associated with the development of heart failure (HF). Weight loss therapies improve outcomes in patients with obesity and HF with preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), but their effects in HF with reduced LVEF remain unclear.

OBJECTIVES: The aim of this work is to determine whether higher BMI is associated with adverse clinical outcomes in patients with HF and whether there is effect modification by LVEF subgroup.

METHODS: Two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) was used, with genome-wide significant loci associated with BMI as instrumental variables and outcome data …

Southeast Conference on School Climate

Across the nation, schools are striving to strengthen climate, culture, and student behavior amid increasing social-emotional needs and complex classroom challenges. Many campuses rely on traditional, punitive disciplinary systems that address the symptoms of misbehavior but not the underlying causes. Restorative Practices offer a powerful, research-based alternative—one that builds relationships, fosters accountability, and creates school environments where students feel valued, connected, and supported. This session, led by Dr. Tiffany Richardson, an award-winning principal and recognized leader in restorative implementation, will demonstrate how Restorative Practices can transform the culture of an entire school community.

Drawing from more than two decades of …

A Semantic Study Of Aerial And Terrestrial Spaces In The Aviation Narratives Of J. Kessel And A. De Saint-Exupéry, Nadia Bouqallal Jun 2026

A Semantic Study Of Aerial And Terrestrial Spaces In The Aviation Narratives Of J. Kessel And A. De Saint-Exupéry, Nadia Bouqallal

Bouhout

This article offers a semantic analysis of aerial and terrestrial spaces in the aviation narratives of Joseph Kessel and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It shows that these two spaces function as opposing poles that shape the heroes’ actions, values, and inner quests. Aerial space is associated with emptiness, altitude, evasion, freedom, elevation, and purification, whereas terrestrial space is linked to fullness, depth, suffocation, malaise, heaviness, and materiality. The study also notes that some terrestrial spaces, especially the desert and wild regions, may acquire positive values when they reconnect the hero with purity, simplicity, and a form of spiritual freedom. The article …
