The U.S. Military has faced a continuous rise in mental health concerns reported by service members and veterans (Currier et al., 2017; Rosenheck & Fontana, 2007). Studies of military personnel have found that up to 15% of service members meet the criteria for experiencing depression (Shen et al., 2012). Often, individuals with military experience face numerous stressors that positively contribute to this experience of depression and feelings of shame (Bradbard et al., 2014; Litz et al., 2009). Much of the discussion concerning female characters in Cormac McCarthy’s oeuvre revolves around assertions of narrative misogyny and subjection resulting from overly reductive criticism based on identity singularity. Had the critics taken this approach with McCarthy’s male characters, there would be little discussion of his work today as they, too, would have appeared as shallow stereotypes. Such readings are of limited interest or usefulness. Rather, when readers pay attention to the richness of the literary craft of McCarthy’s works, it is possible to read his male characters with great complexity. The transition to college is a period known for changes in social support and increases in depression risk. Undergraduate women are particularly vulnerable to developing internalizing symptoms like depression in response to relational stressors and social norm pressures associated with college life. Co-rumination, defined as excessive and ongoing discussion about problems and emotionally distressing topics, both fosters connection and intimacy between friends and increases risk of depressive symptoms. Thus, relationships that are typically seen as buffers from depression may, paradoxically, contribute to risk when support-seeking becomes maladaptive. This study investigates the impact of the number of financing loans before and after the pandemic and analyzes internal and external factors of PT Pegadaian on Outstanding Loans as the dependent variable by using data from PT Pegadaian during 2018–2020. The statistical method used for this analysis is the Generalized Least Squares (GLS). The result shows that the financing loan by PT Pegadaian has significantly higher during the COVID-19 pandemic, then macroeconomic characteristics, ceteris paribus. In addition, this study found an increase in the need for pawning in society, indicated by the increase in Outstanding Loan (OSL) in PT Pegadaian.

Micro and small industries (MSIs) play a crucial role in the economy, yet their growth confronts various constraints. This study examines the determinants of Indonesian MSIs output, focusing on the roles of capital, labor, added value, efficiency, and productivity. Panel data from 34 provinces (2013–2023) applied fixed effect model. The findings indicate that capital, labor, added value, efficiency, and productivity have a positive and significant impact on output. Capital’s dominant role highlights the need for improved access to finance. Policies supporting value creation, managerial skills, and technology adoption are crucial to unlocking the MSI potential and ensuring sustainable growth.

Purpose: This research aimed to assess gender differences in academic performance, aptitude, emotional intelligence, and grit among the students.

Method: The sample included 302 students (250 females and 52 males) from Saudi health sciences institutes, located in Riyadh, Jeddah and Alahsa. Data collection was done through Google Forms which was based on demographic information, Self-Report Measure of Emotional Intelligence and Grit Scales. Results: Statistical analysis was done through STATA-16 by applying ANOVA. Results indicated a significant gender difference in students’ CGPA, aptitude and emotional intelligence. Purpose: This study was conducted to assess the acceptability, facilitators and barriers to video-based learning (VBL) among community health officers (CHOs)-in-training and tutors in a Nigerian school, prior to the introduction of a video-based curriculum.

Methods: This was a mixed-methods cross-sectional study conducted among CHOs and tutors at the CHO training school of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). Purpose. This study examined health professional graduates' views about interprofessional cooperation in healthcare service delivery and the factors that influence their professional collaboration.

Method. Convergent parallel mixed-methods was used. The quantitative component was a cross-sectional survey of 359 Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (IPECP) graduates (30 general practitioners, 112 nurses, 106 dentists, and 111 pharmacists) who had worked in healthcare for at least one year. Purpose: Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a prevalent but underdiagnosed sleep disorder especially among undergraduate medical students. This study aimed to assess the lifestyle habits among undergraduate medical students and their association with risk of OSA in urban part of Tamil Nadu.

Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 315 undergraduate medical students aged 18-25 years. Data collection was done by using STOP-BANG Questionnaire for OSA risk assessment and a google form-based proforma to evaluate lifestyle habits. Statistical analysis, including the Mann-Whitney U test and Chi-square test, were used to evaluate associations between lifestyle factors and OSA risk.

This Article explores a reshaping of the preliminary injunction that is occurring in the federal courts. A preliminary injunction is designed to be a "hold in place" order, blocking actions by the parties that would undermine the efficacy of the court's remedial options. But the preliminary injunction is becoming a device for accelerating the merits decision. Instead of a four-factor test for preliminary relief, increasingly there is one factor: the merits. This Article critiques this transformation, and it argues that the preliminary injunction should be recentered on the protection of the court's remedial options.

The nature of contemporary digital ecosystems causes concerns that affect the person, the individual-self, an integral part of an individual’s information privacy calculus and hence a component of individuals’ Information Privacy Concerns (IPC). Yet, prior IPC models overlook self-focused concerns. This study articulates two constructs, termed “loss of autonomy” (i.e., autonomy) and “control over profiling” (i.e., profiling), that reflect individuals’ self-focused privacy concerns. Combining these new constructs with conventional IPC constructs that capture data-focused and device-focused concerns yields an IPC model made up of three dimensions: self-focused concerns, data-focused concerns, and device-focused concerns. Law schools and the legal profession face a wellbeing crisis. Law students and lawyers suffer from high rates of depression, substance abuse, and job dissatisfaction. Research shows that cultivating autonomy—the sense of control over one’s own decisions and actions—is key to wellbeing and success in legal education and practice. Flaviviruses such as Dengue, West Nile, and Zika viruses are mosquito-borne RNA viruses that can cause serious diseases in humans. To develop effective drugs for treating these viruses’ infections, we create a new approach for developing common or shared drugs that may work for several different viral species of flaviviruses. It is based on the conserved RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp), which is the key enzyme for viral replication. We built up a common structure of RdRps (POLcon) from their consensus sequence. Bacterial vesicles hold immense potential in various biomedical fields. Among these, outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) produced by Gram-negative bacteria are the most extensively studied. While the exact mechanism of OMV production remains unclear, numerous environmental factors have been shown to influence both their yield and composition. In this study, we investigated the effect of three different antimicrobial families on OMV production by E. coli. Interestingly, antimicrobials within the same family did not provide the same effects on OMV yield, suggesting that OMV production may not directly correlate with the antimicrobial mechanism of action. BACKGROUND One third of organ donors suffer catastrophic brain injury (CBI). There are no standard guidelines for the management of traumatic CBI prior to brain death, and not all trauma centers have institutional CBI guidelines. In addition, there is high variability in management between institutions with guidelines. Catastrophic brain injury guidelines vary and may include various combinations of hormone therapy, vasopressors, fluid resuscitation, and other practices. Background: Primary graft dysfunction (PGD) contributes substantially to both short- and long-term mortality after lung transplantation, but the mechanisms that lead to PGD are not well understood. Exposure to ambient air pollutants is associated with adverse events during waitlisting for lung transplantation and chronic lung allograft dysfunction, but its association with PGD has not been studied. We hypothesized that long-term exposure of the lung donor and recipient to high levels of ambient air pollutants would increase the risk of PGD in lung transplant recipients.
