Objectives: To identify the association of mothers with a career in higher educati--on and their children’s growth and development. Methods: This was an analytical study with a cross-sectional design carried out at Wiraraja University, Sumenep, Indonesia, from March to August 2023. The samples were female lecturers at Wiraraja University. A total of 107 mothers were selected using total sampling. The mother’s career was identified using a questionnaire and their child’s growth and development were measured using child development pre-screening questionnaire. Methods: Using a structured and validated questionnaire, a cross-sectional survey was carried out at the Maternity and Children’s Hospital in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Data were collected between August 2023 and June 2024. We included adult patients with PCOS who had completed at least one follow-up visit. The horseshoe kidney (HSK) is a common renal abnormality mostly asymptomatic. This may be linked to chromosomal and organ anomalies. A 27-year-old male patient presented with mild recurrent lower abdominal pain associated with dysuria. No history of renal disease. Laboratory investigations revealed red blood cells (RBC), white blood cells (WBC), and bacterial growth in the urine. A CT urogram showed an HSK with a unilateral left-sided ureter. The patient was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection (UTI) and managed with regular follow-up. This work presents a facile mechano-thermal route for the synthesis of carbon-decorated, hollow, mesoporous α-Fe2O3 microspheres. Comprehensive characterization (XRD, XPS, FT-IR, SEM/EDX, TGA, zeta-potential) confirmed the formation of phase-pure hematite with nanoscale crystallites (~19 nm), substantial residual surface carbon (~40 wt%) consistent with Fe–O–C linkages, and a positive surface charge (+15.9 mV). The hierarchical hollow/mesoporous architecture enables fast ion transport and provides extensive interior binding sites, resulting in rapid Pb(II) uptake that reaches 92% removal in ≈15 min at pH 5.0. The adsorption follows a Langmuir isotherm (qmax ≈ 70.6 mg/g) and pseudo-second-order kinetics, indicative of chemisorption coupled to efficient …

A promising solution to address these issues can be the use of luminescent down-shifting (LDS) layers. This involves the incorporation of luminophores into solid or liquid layers that will act as spectral beam splitters (SBSs). In solid polymers, they form luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs), while in liquids, they act as working fluids and SBS for hybrid photovoltaic-photothermal (PVT) systems. Recent studies convey the critical need for teachers to use culturally relevant pedagogy (CRP) to engage Black boys in literacy instruction. The problem was that in the Sunshine School District (SSD: a pseudonym), pre-kindergarten (pre-K) teachers found it challenging to engage Black boys in literacy instruction. Framed by Ladson-Billings’s CRP, the purpose of this basic qualitative study was to explore how pre-K teachers engaged Black boys in literacy instruction and how teachers’ instructional practices aligned with CRP. Here, we present and synthesise some recent collaborative efforts in our laboratories to establish protocols for using dental microwear texture analysis, originally developed to reconstruct diets of fossil mammals and to aid in the clinical assessment of dental patients today. The idea is to propose a method where polyvinylsiloxane impressions, as used in many dental practices, can be combined with surface texture analysis for a rapid, non-invasive, and inexpensive approach to detect and monitor the progression of tooth wear at fine scales over short durations and help determine causal agents of dental tissue loss. Sibling violence (SV) represents a pervasive yet underexplored dimension of family violence, encompassing physical, emotional, and psychological abuse. This paper critically examines the intersection of gender dynamics, societal norms, and family structures in shaping SV behaviors. Using social learning theory (SLT) as a foundational framework, the analysis explores how gendered expectations and traditional roles influence the prevalence and forms of aggression, with boys more likely to exhibit overt physical aggression and girls engaging in relational aggression. This research study aims to evaluate life-cycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from maize (M) grain production in agroecosystems that used different cover crops under NT management in southern Brazil. To date, there are no available FDA-approved therapies or vaccines for the specific treatment or prevention of ZIKV infection. Variation in the ZIKV envelope protein (Env), along with its complex quaternary structure, presents challenges to synthetic approaches for developing an effective vaccine and broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs). We hypothesized that beta-cyclodextrin (BCD) could be used to uniquely inactivate infectious ZIKV without disruption of Env.

Escherichia coli O157:H7 and Salmonella enterica are major foodborne pathogens. Biofilm formation may potentially contribute to product contamination by these pathogens at meat processing facilities. Further, pathogen stress tolerance may vary significantly due to the interactions with the multispecies microbial community at meat plants, which may be affected by processing activity, animal species, and the local selective pressure caused by sanitization practices.

The FDA approved Semaglutide (Wegovy™) on August 15, 2025, for adults with MASLD and moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2–F3), making it the second approved therapy after Resmetirom. MASLD affects up to 38% of adults and is now the leading cause of liver disease. In the phase 3 ESSENCE trial, Semaglutide achieved resolution of steatohepatitis without worsening fibrosis in 62.9% versus 34.3% with placebo, with additional benefits in weight loss and glycemic control. While long-term data remain pending and access barriers exist, this approval marks a significant advance in MASLD therapy with meaningful histologic and metabolic improvements.
