Research On Usability Of Visualization In Searching Information Based On The Ontology Of An Early Warning System, Helena Dudycz

The goal of the article is introduction of research concerning evaluation of application usability of visualization semantic network built on the basis of ontology conceptualization of an early warning system. Therefore there is short description of searching information based on the visualization of semantic network. Following further there is discussed the suggestion of research method related to verification of usage topic map in the analysis of economic indicators. Introduced are the presumptions of conducted experiment and its participants. Then, there is a report and analysis of the data received. Finally, the future directions of research were identified.

Architecture in Information Technology domain constitutes a synergy of science and art of design of complex structures to ensure usefulness and to control the evolution of that complexity. The paper covers presentation of standards and essential models of enterprise architecture development. In the second part of the paper the author focuses on models for assessing the architecture, including methods and models of business -IT alignment, software architecture evaluation methods and corporate architecture maturity methods. The last part of the paper includes the corporate architecture multi-criteria evaluation model.

The article deals with the Business Process Orientation (BPO) and information systems supporting this approach. At the beginning the Business Process (BP) concept and Business Process anagement (BPM) approach are introduced. Next, the article describes main processes in organizations and information systems, which support them. Then, the BPM lifecycle is presented and information systems maintaining their steps. The important role of Business Process Management Systems (BPMS), the system designed for managing business processes, is also indicated here. This study is based on an analysis of literature, empirical experience, as well as the critical thinking and inductive inference methods.

The main goal of this article is to show the risk and his place in implementation process of an integrated information system. The basic questions connected with the specific of the implementation project were brought closer. The definition of the risk was passed, and presented the areas of his occurrence. The principal part of this paper is an introduction of the author’s conception of classification of risk. It contains the description of individual categories in the context of all activities connected with risk.

The primary goal of this study is the identification of the project management amongst traditional (heavy) and modern (agile) methods of information systems analysis and design. Recently, the approach to information systems project management is changing in fast and multidirectional ways. The classic theory of analysis and design and the current pragmatics are becoming more different. It seems that the use of agile design methods, at least partially minimize arising differences. The analysis is trying to answer the identified questions in this field and showing how to select proper method for given case of project management.

This paper presents the possibility of application of the rough set theory in procedure of building a multi-agent model of consumer behavior. Discussed are: multi-agent simulation, methods of gathering and processing data and rough set theory in the context of identification of market behavior rules of consumers. In addition to these, the paper presents an example of a simulation model of consumer behavior in the electrical appliances market which was built with applying the proposed research procedure.

This paper presents results of an observational study aimed to identify factors affecting users’ willingness to access on-line services using mobile devices such as Smartphone, tablet or laptop. In this observational study 7 users over 14 days were recording their on-line activity in connection to the motivating or de-motivating factors to use a specific mobile device in a particular context. As a result, four types of mobile contexts have been identified (home, travel, desktop, outside) and main types of on-line services (mail/contacts, travel planning, news, information search, shopping and entertainment). The article presents the term and basic assumptions of cognitive graphics concept. It also describes the importance of cognitive graphics in the development of information technology and the origins of cognitive graphics systems. Furthermore, the article presents examples of classical architecture of cognitive graphic systems and its basic modules. A special attention is given to the NovoSpark®Visualizer system, to its structure, methodology and specifics of visualization. Looking Through The Prism Of Privacy And Trespass: Smartphones And The Fourth Amendment, Saby Ghoshray

Technology in the twenty-first century has dramatically changed our lives, but the law has not kept pace with technological advances. The treatment of smartphones in Fourth Amendment jurisprudence is no exception. This is made evident by the increasingly scattered outcomes of litigation involving the privacy interests of smartphone owners.' As the cross-jurisdictional inconsistencies of judicial decisions applying the Fourth Amendment to smartphones mount, I am drawn to seek answers from two foundational pillars of the Supreme Court's search and seizure jurisprudence: protection against invasions of privacy and the bulwark against trespass.

On October 19, 2011, the mayor of Washington, D.C. issued an Executive Order to limit the District's cooperation with the federal government's Immigration and Naturalization Service in identifying and deporting undocumented residents.' In so doing, the mayor joined with many other communities' that, while specifically not shielding undocumented aliens engaged in criminal activity, want to maintain the trust and care of the many law-abiding immigrants within their borders.
