Head and neck cancer patients often experience anatomical changes during radiation therapy, including weight loss and tumor regression. These changes can alter planned dose distribution and affect treatment accuracy. Based on the previous understanding, IMPT offers highly conformal dose delivery but is sensitive to the patient’s geometry changes and daily setup uncertainties, while VMAT may provide greater stability under these uncertainties. However, as of today, there is no quantitative analysis and comparison between the two modalities using real clinical data. Background: The field of emergency preparedness is often considered a limitedly recognized aspect of healthcare; however, it serves an integral component of patient and worker safety. While an important field, there is limited data focused on the field pertaining to salaries of workers, resources utilized and produced, and the typical working environment. The purpose of this project was to assess salary and other demographic markers of healthcare emergency preparedness professionals in the United States.

To understand animal adaptations, we need accurate estimates of the ecological factors impacting organisms in nature. While temperature is a well-established driver of physiological performance, its effects in aquatic systems are closely linked to water oxygenation. Oxygen levels are expected to differ spatially and fluctuate temporally much more strongly in water than on land, but our understanding of variation in temperature and oxygen levels in freshwaters remains limited. It is essential that environmental variation is recorded at spatial and temporal resolutions relevant to the organism. Here we present a comprehensive revision of the phylogeny of Cenozoic planktonic foraminifera. It integrates stratigraphic ranges, morphological traits and evolutionary relationships, resulting in an updated phylogenetic framework. The work expands the previous taxonomic coverage to include microperforate clades, adding 136 morphospecies and 29 new genera, while removing 15 previously included species. Stratigraphic ranges have been calibrated to the latest Geologic Time Scale (GTS2020), providing a more accurate timeline for evolutionary events. The digital phylogeny visualization using TimeScale Creator allows users to interact with these data, including morphospecies images and ecological information, facilitating further research into macroevolutionary processes. This commentary assesses the pragmatic framework proposed in Jonathan Birch’s The Edge of Sentience (2024). Celebrating the book's exceptional clarity, scientific rigor, and profound real-world impact on UK legislation, I nevertheless have some questions about the method by which Birch arrives at his policy recommendations for animal protection. In seeking an overlapping consensus between deeply divergent ethical and credal viewpoints, the framework risks defaulting to a minimalist, lowest-common-denominator standard of protection for animals. Birch also risks drawing the standard even lower by including serious academic positions in animal ethics that deny moral status for animals altogether. A rights-based approach offers …

While prairie dogs are an important species in the region because their burrows provide shelter for many wildlife species, they are also preyed upon by many mammals and birds. However, because of the damage they can cause to cropping and range systems, their populations may occasionally need to be controlled. After you have identified which prairie dog species you are in conflict with and the scope of the damage, you will want to decide how to manage them. This fact sheet provides information on control options and the general ecology of the three prairie dog species in Utah.

Geothermal energy has the potential to transform Utah’s electricity landscape, driving a future with improved air quality, lower carbon emissions, and fewer environmental impacts. In this fact sheet, we provide an overview of geothermal energy and its potential environmental implications in Utah. We highlight that recent geothermal projects in Utah do not use fresh water and that new well designs are expected to reduce the consumption of salty, brackish water. If these efforts are successful, geothermal energy would have lower water consumption, reduced seismic risk, and a similarly low land-use footprint compared to fossil fuel sources of electricity.

Medical record administration is an essential component in supporting healthcare service quality. During the transition toward Electronic Medical Records (EMR), many hospitals still use semi-digital systems that combine conventional and electronic processes. This study aimed to describe semi-digital medical record administration at RSU X, Depok City, based on the Man, Money, Material, Method, and Machine (5M) management elements and the Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling (POAC) management functions. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews and observations involving five informants. This study addresses the escalating environmental, social, and economic challenges confronting informal settlements in coastal cities, with a specific focus on Alexandria, Egypt, as a representative model of the global coastal urban crisis. The research problem centers on the extreme vulnerability of the informal sector—which constitutes approximately 55%–60% of the city’s workforce—to climate change risks, particularly sea-level rise and recurrent storm surges (Nawat). These phenomena result in chronic livelihood disruptions, with an average operational downtime of seven days per storm event, alongside the significant loss of direct physical assets.
