Soil salinity is a major abiotic stress that severely limits plant growth and productivity by inducing osmotic stress, oxidative damage, and ionic imbalances. The present study evaluated the potential of melatonin-mediated silver nanoparticles (Mel AgNPs) to enhance salinity stress tolerance in Brassica juncea. Pot experiments were conducted using 21-day-old plants exposed to salinity stress and treated with Mel AgNPs at different concentrations (50 and 100 mg L⁻¹) through both root application and foliar spray. Morphological, physiological, and biochemical responses were assessed 48 h after nanoparticle exposure. Salinity stress markedly increased lipid peroxidation and hydrogen peroxide accumulation while suppressing antioxidant defence. …

This study examines ‘Sufi exceptionalism’ in Senegal, highlighting the role of Sufi Brotherhoods—particularly the Tijaniyya and Muridiyya—in fostering democratic resilience and preventing radicalism. Contrary to the assumption that religion inhibits democracy, findings show Sufi leaders have acted as stabilizing forces during political crises, advocating peace and democratic values. The research explores the relationship between Sufism and governance, the contributions of Sufi orders to societal stability, and their alliances with state authorities. Through qualitative analysis of secondary sources and comparative case studies of the Tijaniyya and Muridiyya orders, the study traces interactions between religious institutions and the Senegalese state over time. …

The objective of this paper is to examine the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as a test case of Gulf energy transition finance by analyzing how a hydrocarbon-dependent economy is constructing the financial, regulatory, and institutional architecture required to move from net-zero pledges to climate finance flows. Rather than treating climate finance as a set of isolated instruments, the paper conceptualizes the UAE’s approach as a state-led transition-finance model shaped by Gulf state capitalism, sovereign wealth accumulation, national oil company strategy, financial regulation, and post-COP28 climate diplomacy. OBJECTIVE: Single-session interventions (SSIs) are an innovative, scalable approach for addressing the unmet behavioral and mental health needs of pediatric patients and their families. Specifically, digital SSIs, which are self-guided and delivered online, offer a low-cost and accessible approach but are currently underutilized in pediatric psychology.

METHODS: This topical review aims to describe SSIs broadly and the specific need for digital SSIs, explore potential applications within pediatric psychology, outline future directions and considerations, and present two examples of community-engaged digital SSI design.

However, research on the impact of racial trauma on Black adolescents remains limited. Understanding the language and experiences of Black adolescents is essential for identifying and addressing the biopsychosocial effects of racial trauma. With a larval CNS composed of just over 200 neurons and sensory cells, it has also emerged as a model organism for neurobiology and the development of the nervous system. The purpose of this transcendental phenomenological study was to explore the lived experiences of Latino families who participated in bilingual early literacy library programs with their young children (ages 0–5) in a public library system in a major metropolitan area in a northeastern state. Emergency Departments (ED) serve as both the front door to hospitals and as safety nets within their communities. This dissertation examines ED visits from 2018 to 2024 at a single community hospital to assess trends across three critical time periods related to the coronavirus disease Pre-COVID, COVID-19 (pandemic), and post-COVID-19. The study identified shifts in patient volume and operational performance in the ED. Specifically the study showed a statistically significant decrease during the COVID-19 period compared to the pre-COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 periods. Many details of the gas accretion phase during giant planet formation remain untested. We present new 0.2–0.7 μm UV-through-red optical imaging of the young, wide-orbit planetary-mass companion SR 12 c from the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) instrument on board the Hubble Space Telescope. SR 12 c exhibits strong accretion-related continuum excess blueward of∼5000 Å and clear signs of the Balmer jump at 3646 Å. Context and objective: Soybean production in South Africa is increasingly threatened by climate change; but the historical interplay between changing climate and genetic improvement on yield remains unexplored. This study assessed the historical influence of climate change and genetic trait improvement on soybean yield from 1998 to 2022 across four different South African localities: Bethlehem, Delmas, Brits and Potchefstroom.
