The Role Of Generative Ai In Secondary School Business Education: Insights From Teachers’ Perceptions, Leonard Busuttil, Emanuel Mizzi Sep 2026

The Role Of Generative Ai In Secondary School Business Education: Insights From Teachers’ Perceptions, Leonard Busuttil, Emanuel Mizzi

International Journal for Business Education

Background/Introduction/Purpose: Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) has entered classrooms more quickly than the evidence base needed to guide its use, and that evidence base remains concentrated in higher education. Comparatively little is known about secondary school business education, a curricular area that brings together accounting, business studies, economics, financial literacy, marketing, and retail, and in which teachers move between subjects whose epistemological and procedural demands differ considerably. Existing studies also tend to treat business education as a single homogeneous domain, or to examine one of its subjects in isolation. This study addresses that gap by examining how secondary school business education …

Taut And Dupin Submanifolds (Updated Version), Thomas E. Cecil

Mathematics and Computer Science Department Faculty Scholarship

This is an updated version of the paper [29] by the author which originally appeared in 1997. The original paper was a survey of the closely related fields of taut and Dupin submanifolds of Euclidean space, and this updated version includes many results in the field that have appeared since the publication of the original version. The emphasis is on stating results in their proper context and noting areas for future research, and relatively few proofs are given. The important class of isoparametric hypersurfaces is surveyed in detail, as is the relationship between the two concepts of taut and Dupin. …

Peninsula Medical School

BackgroundAcademic psychiatry in the UK is in a precarious situation with diminished academic to clinical posts. There has been a growing reduction in psychiatrists engaged in academia in the last 25 years. This has coincided with increased growth of International Medical Graduates (IMG) working in UK psychiatry. IMGs may face unique barriers to involvement in research, which may contribute to the academic gap. IMGs from India form the largest minoritised ethnic group among UK psychiatrists. This study explores interest in and perceived barriers and facilitators to academic engagement among IMGs of Indian origin working in psychiatry in the UK.MethodsA questionnaire …

Homelessness Research & Action Collaborative Publications and Presentations

The Pathways to Housing Study examines how people experience and navigate homelessness and the systems intended to help them move toward stable housing. Conducted in Multnomah County, Oregon, the study used a participatory mixed-methods design co-led with the TREES lived experience committee. The first phase was reported in April 2026 included surveys with 541 people with current or recent experience of homelessness. The second phase, reported here, used in-depth interviews and journey mapping with 29 participants to explore how pathways through homelessness unfold over time and across service systems.

Findings demonstrate that homelessness pathways are rarely linear. Participants described entering …

Two-Stage Routing Of Power And Ground Nets In An Integrated Circuit Using Reinforcement Learning And Integer Linear Programming, Prateek Pendyala Sep 2026

Two-Stage Routing Of Power And Ground Nets In An Integrated Circuit Using Reinforcement Learning And Integer Linear Programming, Prateek Pendyala

Defensive Publications Series

Custom routing of power and ground nets in an integrated circuit remains a manual task, in that a layout engineer must balance irregular blockages, electromigration (EM) limits, and voltage drop (IR drop) budgets at the same time.  To address these competing pressures, a two-stage routing method divides that work between a learned global search and an exact local refinement.  In a first stage of the method, a reinforcement learning (RL) agent explores a coarse routing grid and proposes a trial route together with an approximate wire width for each segment.  In a second stage of the method, an integer linear …

The Evolution Characteristics Of Gas Pressure Around Coal Seam Directional Long Extraction Boreholes With Nonlinear Extraction Negative Pressure, Zhang Qi, Jia Jinlong, Li Zhiguo, Zhang Longgang, Qin Zhengyuan, Zhang Weizhong, Li Jin

Journal of Sustainable Mining

Nonlinear pressure of coal seam gas in the directional borehole and surrounding areas affects extraction efficiency. A multi-field coupling numerical model, including gas desorption, diffusion, fracture seepage, and borehole extraction, is developed for the No. 3 coal seam of the GJH mine. Using the numerical simulation method of control variables, extraction was developed to investigate the nonlinear evolution of axial pressure gradients in directional long borehole and the spatiotemporal response characteristics of gas pressure. Results show that coal seam seepage pressure exhibits a nonlinear radial gradient attenuation around the borehole, evolving through rapid pressure change, stabilization, and slow adjustment. The …
