Large-diameter steel pipes are often used for transmitting and distributing water, gas, and oil products from the source to the end user. These pipelines are mainly oriented by using pipe el- bows due to their high flexibility along their routes. Geopolymer concretes a substitute for traditional Portland cement as a more environmentally sustainable alternative. In addition, one of the most significant advantages of geopolymer concrete is the high setting speed that can be achieved with thermal curing, that is, the short curing period. Research on geopolymer concrete has focused on curing, where curing is usually done with conventional ovens. This study uses a tested laterite soil composition to investigate the acoustic properties of interlocking compressive stabilized earth blocks (ICSEBs) produced by the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI). The laterite samples comprised 40.75% fines (silt-clay), 48.65% fine/medium/coarse, and 10.6% fine gravel. The ICSEBs produced from this composition were evaluated for their sound absorption coefficient values at octave bands of 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz, and 4000 Hz. The results demonstrate that the ICSEBs exhibit favorable acoustic insulation properties, with sound absorption coefficients ranging from 0.71 to 0.99 at the tested frequencies. This study proposed a practical seismic retrofit method for RC frames. For this purpose, a quasi-static loading was applied to 8 RC frames in finite element analysis software, Abaqus, and frames were pushed 45 mm laterally. High-strength fiber-reinforced lightweight concrete panels strengthened infill walls inside the RC frames. To apply them to the walls, epoxy binder and polyurethane binder were used, and their behavior was compared. Using panels increased the lateral load capacity of the whole frame according to the numerical analysis performed with Abaqus. However, they need reinforcement to withstand direct or indirect tensile forces. This study evaluated the potential use of 3D-printed polymers as an alternative reinforcement in cement-based composites. Polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG), Polyamide (PA), and Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) based triangular and honeycomb-patterned 3D-printed reinforcements were incorporated into cement-based composites, and their mechanical performances were compared under three-point flexural tests by considering both polymer and pattern type. The applications of geopolymers as cementitious systems are becoming an alternative source of cement daily. The use of potentially suitable aluminosilicate inorganic waste materials incorporated with agro-industrial waste in the production of suitable geopolymer binders has been reported.
