Bacteriophages, commonly referred to as phages, are non-living viruses that only infect bacteria. As the most abundant biological entities on Earth, understanding their role in regulating microbial populations is essential. This ongoing research aims to identify naturally occurring bacteriophages that could effectively control bacteria blooms. The primary objective of this study is to detect coliphages on Coastal Carolina University's campus and determine their viral families. Coliphages are a subgroup of bacteriophages that specifically infect coliform bacteria. In this article, I offer new ways of seeing and hearing Sundanese women singers in modern post-independence Indonesia. I propose a dynamic and historical approach to show how individual female singers shaped new material realities and symbolic meanings of modern Sundanese identity (Sunda modern) from the early 1950s through the mid-1970s. My approach emphasizes difference, uniqueness, and novelty in singers’ public image, on-stage presentation, vocal style, and musical repertoire. Quantifying The Impact Of Introducing Hpv Vaccines In 2006 On 25-29-Year-Old Cervical Cancer Incidence In 2022, Jason Semprini, Joshua Devine, Rachel Reimer

Nearly all cervical cancers are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). In 2006, adolescent females were recommended to receive the HPV vaccine. Our study aimed to quantify the impact of introducing the HPV vaccine in 2006 on cervical cancer incidence in 2022. We analyzed the latest Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results data. Our design compared the change in cervical cancer incidence from 2019 to 2022 between females recommended for HPV vaccination in 2006 (age 25-29) and females who were not (age 35-54). Beyond simple pre/post comparisons, our linear regression model adjusted for age-specific incidence trends. We found that, unlike the stagnate …

This paper deals with the development and analysis of feature extraction and optimisation algorithms for object recognition operators. Different algorithms are used to improve the efficiency of recognition operators in the automatic analysis of remote sensing images. This article examines the process of drying garlic using a low-temperature vibratory-convective drying system. At the "Service Technology" department of Tashkent State Technical University, a vibratory dryer was developed to ensure high-quality drying of garlic while maximizing the preservation of its biologically active compounds. Through experimental studies, optimal drying parameters were determined, including the degree of moisture removal, process duration, airflow velocity, and vibration acceleration. The results obtained contribute to enhancing the efficiency and quality of garlic drying, which holds practical significance for agricultural producers and consumers interested in healthy nutrition.

This dissertation explores the intersection of sexuality and religion within blues culture through an interdisciplinary approach combining photography, creative writing, historical and sociological review and cultural critique. The work examines how the "tension of opposites" between erotic expression and spiritual yearning creates a transcendent aesthetic experience that defines American blues music and culture. The development of a first-generation ultrasound body scanner aims to acquire preliminary signal data and image results that will aid in the design of a system with a scalable transducer array for comprehensive abdominal imaging. This system aims to enhance the diagnostic capabilities of ultrasound with the potential for improved image quality, a broader field of view (i.e., better body coverage), and quantitative images. This study examined how racial identity development shaped college choices for Black students who attended independent private high schools. Using social identity theory and intersectionality as frameworks, this qualitative research explored the experiences of eight alumni from a school with a majority-Hispanic student population and predominately White faculty. The research addressed key questions: How did racial identity develop in this context, and how did it influence the college process? What other factors shaped their college decisions? In an effort to improve education, the Tennessee state legislature in early 2025 passed a bill to expand the state’s current targeted program to a universal Education Savings Account program in which state funding is set to be reallocated to private institutions for any Tennessee student who applies and is accepted. This dissertation addresses the challenges in simulating the core-level spectra of transition metal complexes, focusing on validating simplified methods that are both efficient and sufficiently accurate. Proper simulation requires incorporating relativistic effects, such as spin-orbit coupling, which significantly increases computational demands. To address these difficulties, this work provides an overview of the theoretical foundations behind the employed methodologies, including linear-response time-dependent density functional theory (LR-TD-DFT) and the zeroth-order regular approximation (ZORA) Hamiltonian, and the state-interaction framework. Key findings demonstrate that simplified state-interaction-based approaches produce near-edge X-ray absorption spectra (XAS) that are nearly indistinguishable from those obtained using more rigorous methods, …

Abstract Drawing on Critical Social Theory (CST) (Habermas, 1984; Kincheloe & McLaren, 2011) and Culturally Responsive Evaluation (CRE) (Hood, Hopson, & Kirkhart, 2015), this qualitative study evaluates the effectiveness of a Mindfulness-Based Intervention (MBI) with Black undergraduate students. The purpose of the study was to examine and understand how students perceived and engaged with mindfulness practices, particularly concerning stress management, coping strategies, and cultural relevance. Ischemic strokes entail a blockage of vessels in the brain and account for 87% of all strokes. When these blockages occur in large cerebral arteries, there is a 95% post-stroke mortality rate. Given these statistics, rapid identification and treatment is crucial for positive patient outcomes. Transcranial Doppler (TCD) is a noninvasive ultrasound technique that transmits ultrasonic pulses through the skull to assess arterial flow velocities to determine whether any large vessel occlusions (LVOs) are present. The Hybrid Angular Spectrum (HAS) method can be used to calculate ultrasound wave propagation through inhomogeneous tissue geometries, providing fast and accurate results. Volumetric matrices of sound speed and attenuation distributions and a planar incident pressure pattern are given as inputs, and the pressure wave propagation pattern is calculated plane-by-plane by alternating between the space domain and the spatial-frequency domain for each slice of the volume. Background: Obesity and dyslipidemia are significant risk factors for cardiovascular disorders (CVDs), yet have not been extensively studied in Pakistani subjects. Therefore, this retrospective observational study was undertaken to investigate the association of obesity-related traits and serum lipid parameters in CVD patients from Faisalabad, Pakistan.

Methods: A total of 403 CVD patients and 226 healthy controls were included. CVD patients were enrolled from the Allied Hospital and the Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology.
