The etiology of the rapidly evolving prevalence of pediatric obesity and diabetes is largely, if not entirely, due to the accessibility and affordability of whole foods and a lack of physical activity. Another likely large factor is health literacy. There is a lack of understanding that overconsumption of highly processed foods and a lack of exercise can lead to diseases even in childhood. Although the etiology of pediatric obesity is vastly multifactorial, diet is a crucial contributing factor, and this is the foundation of our research. Ambystoma mexicanum is an aquatic salamander species, commonly known as the axolotl, native to Mexico that is widely researched all over the world. In the wild, these salamanders have brown/black colored skin due to the presence of melanophores and xanthophores with shiny spots due to iridophores. In captivity, however, there are multiple different color morphs (phenotypes) of axolotls including leucistic, melanistic, and copper. Melanoid axolotls have black skin made by mostly melanophores, little xanthophores, and no iridophores. Melanistic genotypes such as melanoid and wild type color morphs are thought to be controlled by a single gene called Leukocyte Tyrosine Kinase …

The objective of this research was to create a universal robotic end effector also known as a jamming gripper and test the effectiveness of coffee grounds vs. kinetic sand as the granular material used in the end effector. The apparatus used was a system containing an Arduino UNO, a 12-volt vacuum pump, an h-bridge, a solenoid valve, and the jamming gripper itself. An assortment of objects was used to see how well the gripper could pick up objects of different sizes, shapes, and weights. After various trials, the coffee grounds yielded much better results than the kinetic sand. The kinetic …

Childhood abuse is a global issue with deep-rooted consequences. In addition, childhood abuse causes stress associated with early mental health interruption. Child abuse also causes children to suffer and can lead to long-term outcomes such as low self-esteem in their teenage years. Thus, this work has examined the relationship between childhood experience and self-esteem. The design of an airfoil in the wind turbine and optimizing the blades is fundamental in a wind turbine aerodynamic performance. In this paper, the effect of the multiple multi-elements on the aerodynamic performance of airfoil is investigated. These multi-element configurations are expected to offer better performance of the wind turbine by maximizing the lift and drag coefficients. Based on the case studies analysis, the multi-elements have shown that the modified design results in high values of the power coefficient at low-speed ratios. This paper attempts to compare the earth's radius calculation based on the sunset or sunrise (moonset or moonrise) with the Method developed by the scientist Al-Bīrūni. The sunset sunrise method is used to calculate the earth radius by standing in front of a flat horizontal plane. In addition, the authors have use Al-Bīrūni's rule to calculate the radius. Furthermore, the error percent of both Al-Bīrūni and the sunset sunrise method were calculated as well. The results showed that the earth actual radius is 6371 km. From a hearthland in the eastern Caucasus, the Albanians migrated by two routes and three waves. The Gheg moved north of the Black Sea to the Illyrian culture area, and the Tosc through Anatolia. Modern censuses of the People's Republic of Albania are improving in content and accuracy and population movement over the decade 1960-1969 shows marked trends towards urbanization concentrated in the rrathe of Vlore, Berat, Lushnje, Durres and Tirane. The old are left in the highlands, and despite wartime losses, males still outnumber females.
