This is a narrative case study of 20time or passion projects in English 8. The study explores how traditional educational hierarchies and practices, as well as perceptions of agency and competence, may be transformed in a personalized context by examining a single case comprising 17 students drawn from four sections of eighth grade English in which students are engaged in sustained 20time or passion projects as a fundamental part of their curriculum. The data comprise teacher, student, and administrative products, participant interviews and observations, and memos. Data analysis employs general qualitative methods and critical narrative analysis. This dissertation bridges the corporate governance research and behavioral strategy research to examine how the interplay between governance mechanisms and managerial cognition and behavior shapes firm strategy and performance. The dissertation consists of three empirical essays. The first essay examines whether the greater monitoring intensity and informational advantages of concentrated institutional ownership curb CEO overconfidence. By situating CEO overconfidence within an agency context, this study highlights the importance of concentrated institutional ownership for curtailing CEO overconfidence and sheds light on the multiple channels through which these owners monitor. Behavioral self-regulation in childhood lays the foundation for lifelong adaptive functioning, including academic achievement, social relationships, and psychological well-being. While early poverty is consistently linked to worse behavioral self-regulation, less is known about how the timing, types, and changes in material hardship (i.e., daily experiences of deprivation), shape children’s development of behavioral self-regulation. Pembrolizumab was granted accelerated FDA approval for the treatment of patients with metastatic MMR deficient solid tumors and has shown significant benefit in the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer. Recently, the NICHE-2 trial demonstrated that neoadjuvant nivolumab plus ipilimumab led to a significant response in locally advanced MMR deficient colon cancer. This report is a single institution's experience regarding the treatment of metastatic colon cancer with neoadjuvant immunotherapy. Since 2022, our institution has treated two patients with neoadjuvant pembrolizumab for metastatic colon cancer and achieved complete clinical and pathologic responses with no residual evidence of malignancy.

Many methods have evolved over the years to attempt to manage invasive Rhamnus cathartica or buckthorn populations. Goat grazing has been shown to be effective at reducing R. cathartica stems, as well as allowing low amounts of viable seeds to pass through goat digestive tracts. Due to small mammal’s prevalence and ecological niche, they are a popular subject for population studies because they can be an indicator of ecological health. In years past, high levels of biodiversity and herds of roaming grazing animals maintained a delicate balance between species of plants. More recently due to globalization and deforestation foreign species like Rhamnus cathartica have been able to grow unchecked. Our study uses long term data from periodically goat-grazed areas near Bethel University, MN to evaluate the effectiveness of goat grazing to manage invasive plant species. Random one square meter quadrats were established in 2018 (n=70) to compare the differences in R. cathartica stem density between three height categories (0-30 cm, 30-150 cm, >150 cm), as well as other plant species …

This is a research presentation asking the question, "Is there a relationship between autoimmune diseases and the likelihood of higher antibody levels?" Using a dataset of participants with and without autoimmune diseases, it covers whether antibody levels (of Immunoglobulin M and Complement 4) average differently between a healthy control group and four autoimmune disease groups: Sjogren's Disease (SD or SS), Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), ANCA-associated vasculitis (SV), and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). Finding differences such as these will give a better understanding of the biomarkers of autoimmune diseases and help further the scientific research within the health field.

More than five hundred years have passed since the domesticated hops were brewed in middle Europe, but wild hops were used much earlier, and are brewed in Syria even today. Hops were introduced to England in the wild, but much later came into prominence after being introduced into Kent by Flemish immigrants about 15241.

An anomalous pattern of high warm-season precipitation centered on the city of La Porte, Indiana, has recently been described in the literature.' The presence of this pattern was attributed to rainfall augmentation as a result of atmospheric pollution by the heavy industrial complex in the vicinity of Gary, Indiana (Figure one).
