AR/VR interactions rely on dedicated controllers or gestures, which can be cumbersome and limit user interaction with digital interfaces. This disclosure describes techniques for transforming everyday objects into interactive interfaces using augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), or extended reality (XR) devices that perform real-time hand-object tracking. The techniques segment video frames into hands and objects using a deep learning based segmentation model. Objects are tracked in six degrees of freedom (6DoF) using a motion estimation network and machine-learning-based pose estimation. Background: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is an alternative treatment for surgically high-risk patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS). This study aimed to assess the echocardiographic outcomes of TAVI in patients with severe AS, focusing on left ventricular mass, volume, and pressure.

Methods: This retrospective,registry-based, single-center study was conducted at King Salman Heart Center, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. We included 200 adult patients who underwent the TAVI procedure and completed at least one year of clinical and echocardiographic follow-up. Aim: To evaluate the relationship between the location of chest pain (topography) and the site of coronary artery involvement in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA).

Materials and Methods: This prospective, observational study included 411 consecutive ACS patients admitted to a tertiary care center between January 2017 and December 2019. A total of 589 angina topographic sites were analyzed. The site and characteristics of chest pain, along with electrocardiogram and coronary angiography findings, were documented and assessed for correlation with the involved coronary artery.

The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of a course series for the rehabilitation of patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) on participants’ perceptions of interprofessional collaboration and teamwork.

In Pakistan, the prevalence of SCI has surged, highlighting the need for coordinated rehabilitation services. However, individuals with SCI in Pakistan often receive little to no rehabilitation after their injury, which negatively impacts their recovery outcomes. We used a cross-sectional survey including students from four IP courses at two Norwegian higher educational institutions. One site had a 1-2 weeks on-campus training for their bachelor students at the start of each of the three academic years, whilst the other site arranged a workplace-based course for final year health and social care students from both educational institutions. Reassessing Policy Responses To Irregular Migration In Receiving Democracies: A Process-Tracing Analysis Of Transactional Migration Governance, Otoniel Ramos

This policy brief analyzes the growing use of transactional migration agreements (TMAs) by receiving democracies—bilateral arrangements that exchange financial or diplomatic concessions for the external enforcement of migration control. While politically expedient, TMAs often generate long-term strategic liabilities: they reduce state control over enforcement outcomes, expose receiving states to coercive leverage by partner states, and weaken normative commitments to transparency and rights protection. Using analytic process tracing and formal modeling, this paper identifies four recurring mechanisms by which TMAs evolve into systems of asymmetric dependence. Background: Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a progressive muscular disease associated with muscle fiber degeneration and increased inflammatory responses including Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) and other cytokines. Canakinumab (Ilaris) is an anti-human IL-1β monoclonal antibody that neutralizes IL-1β. Methods: We completed an open-label, single dose pilot study of canakinumab 2 mg/kg subcutaneous injection in steroid naïve boys with DMD older than 2 years of age to determine safety and potential serum response biomarkers of efficacy at 4-weeks post treatment. While technology is playing a more critical role in learning, apprentice lecturers’ use of technology to support learning is under-researched. This qualitative study explores apprentice lecturers’ use and experience of a Learning Management System during and after COVID-19. Thematic analysis was used to make sense of the rich data, gathered using semi-structured interviews, from ten apprentice lecturers. The analysis revealed that technology use largely mirrored participants’ teacher-centric face-to-face methods. This approach did not sustain apprentice online engagement. Applying the theoretical framework, TPACK revealed that limited pedagogical expertise and, to a lesser extent, limited technological proficiency shaped participants’ approaches.
