Practical Anisotropy Of Reflectance Standards, Mark Helmlinger
The Characterization and Radiometric Calibration for Remote Sensing Annual Meeting (CALCON)
Factory calibration documents for sintered PTFE and painted reflectance standards specify diffuse hemispherical reflectance at 8 degrees incidence, nadir collection. This measurement is an isotropic mean of azimuth angles. In practice, targets are measured at very specific azimuthal incidence and collection angles, requiring more rigorous BRDF knowledge if certainties of less than 2% are desired. In this presentation, a practical method for determining the azimuthal dependence of nadir collected reflectance at various incident illumination zenith angles is described and discussed.

Spectral Quantum Efficiency Calibration Of Mid-Infrared Single Photon Detectors, Grant Teply
The Characterization and Radiometric Calibration for Remote Sensing Annual Meeting (CALCON)
Superconducting Nanowire Single Photon Detectors (SNSPDs) can count individual photon hits with a very high efficiency, a very low dark count rate, and very fine time resolution. Since the output is naturally digital, they are an especially promising technology for space missions including NASA’s Origins Space Telescope and Large Interferometer For Exoplanets (LIFE). Over the past 5 years, significant progress has been made in the development of SNSPDs that can sense lower energy photons such as those in the mid-infrared, but the quantum efficiency of these devices remains poorly quantified.
