Bahadur Representations For Canonical Quantile Regression: A Correction And Extension, Stephen Portnoy

Portnoy (2022) introduced a version of Canonical Correlation anal- ysis based on Regression Quantiles. The proof of the asymptotic convergence of the estimators contained some gaps. A new proof is developed using Bahadur representations to obtain asymptotic represen- tations for the Canonical Regression Quantile components with error uniformly O_p (n^-1/4 log n). These innovative representations justify approximations and automatically provide joint convergence in dis- tribution. This enables an inductive argument to obtain asymptotic results for all components. These novel Bahadur approximations may have more general application and interest.

This dissertation is centered on the metaethics and moral ontology of Erik Wielenberg. The central task of the dissertation is to examine Wielenberg’s metaethical view termed “Godless Normative Realism” and ascertain the ontological implications therein. I contend that Wielenberg’s moral ontology ultimately fails to establish moral realism and aspects of his metaethics are better explained by the existence of God rather than his non-existence.

With the aim of developingand extending thinking about pedagogies in diverse education settings, it employs a scopingliterature review to identify and examine the various conceptual frameworks which underpinthinking about and practice within multigrade classrooms. Mutations in RNA splicing factors are prevalent across cancers and generate recurrently mis-spliced mRNA isoforms. Here we identified a series of bona fide neoantigens translated from highly stereotyped splicing alterations promoted by neomorphic, leukemia-associated somatic splicing machinery mutations. We utilized feature-barcoded peptide-MHC dextramers to isolate neoantigen-reactive T cell receptors (TCRs) from healthy donors, patients with active myeloid malignancy, and following curative allogeneic stem cell transplant. Neoantigen-reactive CD8+ T cells were present in the blood of patients with active cancer and had a distinct phenotype from virus-reactive T cells with evidence of impaired cytotoxic function. Effectively managing diabetes requires active patient engagement in monitoring crucial health metrics, such as HbA1c and glucose levels. However, many existing patient portals present this information in complex and confusing formats, hindering understanding and communication. This study established a prototype for a user-centered dashboard for diabetes management, designed to enhance patient comprehension and interaction with their health data by utilizing principles of relational data display. Background: First-line treatment with encorafenib plus cetuximab (EC) with or without chemotherapy (oxaliplatin, leucovorin, and fluorouracil [mFOLFOX6]) for BRAF V600E-mutated metastatic colorectal cancer, an aggressive subtype with a poor prognosis, was compared with standard care (chemotherapy with or without bevacizumab) in an open-label, phase 3 trial, which showed significance regarding one of the two primary end points, objective response according to blinded independent central review (odds ratio for EC+mFOLFOX6 vs. standard care, 2.44; one-sided P< 0.001). This result led to accelerated Food and Drug Administration approval of this investigational combination therapy for BRAF V600E-mutated metastatic colorectal cancer, including as first-line therapy. The qualitative research conducted explores adolescent media literacy through the perspectives of middle school and high school educators, intending to understand students' ability to discern credible information. Additionally, this research aims to determine the extent to which current educational practices foster this skill. In this dissertation, the author discussed the lessons learned regarding building and administering Christian discipleship programs for adolescents. The discussion involved three institutions influenced by the work of the Reverend George Whitefield, all of which have recently faced challenges related to forced organizational transformation or renewal for sustained growth and service. At Bethesda Academy, founded by Whitefield in 1740 as an orphanage, the need for transformation arose from the decreased necessity for the academy to continue providing that service, prompting Bethesda to seek a new purpose. A niche venue of research around religious trauma and spiritual abuse has demonstrated adverse outcomes of individuals who feel manipulated or harmed by institutions or individuals holding an imbalance of religious power. While general claims are often made that religion is a positive force on health and psychological wellness, religious trauma is usually associated with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other pathological symptoms. Change management is critical to strategy implementation, yet organizations frequently struggle to integrate change initiatives, leading to high failure rates. This study explores the systemic challenges associated with change management projects within strategy implementation programs, identifying key factors contributing to success or failure. The research, using a flexible qualitative case study, examines the perspectives of executives, middle managers, and front-line employees in a U.S.-based public safety apparel company. This study aimed to examine the level of financial literacy and classify the financial literacy levels among new-generation teachers. The sample consisted of 280 assistant teachers and level-one professional teachers in schools under the Bangkok Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC). A stratified random sampling method was employed. The research instrument was a financial literacy assessment adapted from the 2020 Thai Financial Literacy Survey and the 2022 draft questionnaire developed by the Bank of Thailand. This study examined the impact of blended learning on the self-directed learning and academic achievement of the first-year nursing students studying metabolic biochemistry. This quasi-experiment research recruited 150 first-year nursing students at one of the nursing college. A blended learning intervention, combining face-to-face instruction and various online activities, was implemented. Data were collected using a self-directed learning scale, pretest and posttest, and a final exam. Results indicated that blended learning significantly enhanced students' self-directed learning (t = -2.847, p = 0.005) and academic performance.
