การประเมินวัฏจักรชีวิตกระดาษในงาน วิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อได้ทราบผลกระทบ ต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมอันเกิดจากการผลิตกระดาษ ลูกฟูกแบบต่าง ๆ โดยทำการรวบรวมข้อมูลที่จำเป็นต่อการประเมินวัฏจักรชีวิตสำหรับการผลิตกระดาษเพื่อสร้างฐานข้อมูล โดย กำหนดขอบเขตการประเมินวัฏจักรชีวิตให้สิ้นสุดที่ผลิตภัณฑ์กระดาษเท่านั้น โดยยังไม่คำนึงถึงขั้นตอนการจำหน่าย การใช้งาน และการจัดการของเสียจากการใช้กระดาษสำหรับประเภทของกระดาษที่เสือกศึกษาในโครงการนี้คือกระดาษลอนลูกฟูก ซึ่งข้อมูลการผลิตกระดาษและเยื่อกระดาษเป็นข้อมูล ปฐมภูมิที่ได้จากความร่วมมือของโรงงานในกลุ่มการผลิตเยื่อและกระดาษ ส่วนข้อมูลการผลิตในช่วงวัฏจักรชีวิตอื่น ๆ นั้นจะเป็นข้อมูลทุติยภูมิที่ได้จากรายงานวิจัยอื่น ได้แก่ NOH Report 9523 (1996), GRI Reports (2003) ส่วนการประเมินผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมได้จัดจำแนกตามกลุ่มผลกระทบ (Impact categories) 7 กลุ่มด้วยกัน คือ การเกิดปรากฏการณ์เรือนกระจก หรือ ภาวะโลกร้อน (Greenhouse effect หรอ Global warming) การลดลงของปริมาณโอโซนในชั้นบรรยากาศ (Ozone layer depletion) การ เกิดปรากฏการณ์ฝนกรด (Acidification) การปลดปล่อยโลหะหนัก (Heavy metals) การปลดปล่อยสารก่อมะเร็ง (Carcinogens substance) การเกิดโอโซนบนชั้นผิวโลก (Summer smog) การบริโภคทรัพยากรเชื้อเพลิงสิ้นเปลืองหรือพลังงานที่ใช้แล้วหมดไป (Energy resource depletion) และทำการเปรียบเทียบผลการประเมินจากการผลิตกระดาษลอนลูกฟูกที่มีรายละเอียดการผลิตต่างกัน เพื่อที่จะได้แสดงให้เห็นถึงประโยชน์ที่ได้รับจากประเมินวัฏจักรชีวิต

บทบาท อำนาจ และหน้าที่ขององค์กร ปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น ในการพิทักษ์รักษา ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมของไทย นั้นเป็นไปตามหลักการการกระจายอำนาจ ซึ่งมีกฎหมายรองรับที่สำคัญ 2 ฉบับคือ รัฐธรรมนูญแห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย พุทธศักราช 2540 มาตรา 290 และพระราชบัญญัติกำหนดแผนและขั้นตอนการกระจายอำนาจให้แก่องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น พ.ศ. 2542 และหลักการนี้ในประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาและญี่ปุ่นก็มีความคล้ายคลึงกับของไทย ที่ยอมรับว่า การปกครองระบอบประชาธิปไตยที่สมบูรณ์แบบนั้นจำเป็นต้องมีการกระจายอำนาจจากราชการส่วนกลางสู่ส่วนท้องถิ่น โดยเฉพาะการพิทักษ์รักษาทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ และสิ่งแวดล้อมที่มีความเกี่ยวพันโดยตรง กับองค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น
จากการวิจัยพบว่า อำนาจหน้าที่ขององค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นด้านการพิทักษ์รักษาทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมนั้น อยู่ภายใต้กฎหมายเกี่ยวกับสิ่งแวดล้อม 2 กลุ่มคือ กลุ่มกฎหมายที่มีบทบัญญัติกระจายอำนาจให้แก่องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นแล้ว กับกลุ่มกฎหมายที่ยังไม่ได้มีการกระจายอำนาจให้แด่องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น ซึ่งเป็นปัญหาและอุปสรรคด้านการถ่ายโอนภารกิจด้านนี้แก่องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นอยู่ ดังนั้นการวิจัยจึงได้มีข้อเสนอให้ปรับปรุงแก้ไขภายใต้แนวทาง ดังนี้
1. แนวทางการดำเนินการปรับปรุง แก้ไขกฎหมาย โดยกำหนดให้องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นมีบทบาทในการจัดการด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างเข้มแข็งเป็นรูปธรรม เช่น การจัดทำแผนจัดการคุณภาพสิ่งแวดล้อมในเขตพื้นที่ปกครอง การเข้าร่วมพิจารณาให้ความเห็นชอบเกี่ยวกับการริเริ่มโครงการหรือกิจการการมีอำนาจบังคับใช้กฎหมาย เป็นต้น
2. แนวทางการปรับปรุงแก้ไขแผนปฏิบัติการกำหนดขั้นตอนการกระจายอำนาจให้แก่องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น พ.ศ. 2545 โดยการปรับปรุงแก้ไขภารกิจเพียงเท่าที่มีอยู่ และหากจะเพิ่มภารกิจใหม่ ก็ให้สอดคล้องกับอำนาจหน้าที่ด้านการ ส่งเสริมและรักษาคุณภาพสิ่งแวดล้อม
3. แนวทางการเพิ่มพูนความรู้ด้านกฎหมายสิ่งแวดล้อมแก่บุคลากรองค์กร ปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น โดยการจัดทำหลักสูตรอบรมความรู้ด้านการบังคับใช้กฎหมายสิ่งแวดล้อมแก่ผู้บริหารระดับนโยบาย และผู้ปฏิบัติงานขององค์กร ปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น

The Impact Of Sports Participation At Differing Levels On Young Women's Self-Esteem, Carly Petrower

Women’s participation in sports has long been associated with health benefits; however, its impact on psychological well-being, particularly self-esteem, among young women remains unclear. In this work, the relationship between sports participation and self-esteem among young women at three levels: youth, high school, and collegiate was examined. A total of 40 participants across all competition levels were included in the study, and both quantitative and qualitative analyses were conducted. The Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) and an open-ended survey were used. Responses found that self-esteem levels were moderate. Moreover, one-way ANOVA revealed no significant differences in self-esteem across women following regression …

The general psychopathology factor represents a higher-order dimension of psychopathology that reflects an individual’s overall level of psychological disturbance across diagnostic categories (Caspi et al., 2014; Lahey et al., 2012). Although prior research has largely relied on self-report measures to assess the p-factor, performance-based measures may provide complementary insights into underlying cognitive, emotional, and interpersonal processes. The present study examined whether Rorschach variables could serve as indicators of broad psychopathology in a sample of 5-17-year-old children and adolescents admitted to inpatient psychiatric care over a 20-year period. Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can co-occur with chronic pain, and this co-occurrence has been linked to negative outcomes such as increased severity of either condition over time. Although theoretical literature has focused on the factors that contribute to this co-occurrence, limited empirical research has examined factors that predict the presence of posttraumatic stress (PTS) and chronic pain together. Across the nation, thousands of first-year college students begin their journey full of hope, yet far too many do not reach their second year. Only 74% of full-time students continue, and fewer than seven in 10 remain at the same college. For many, the struggle is not simply academic. It is emotional, social, and deeply personal. Students who face challenges with time management, stress, and self-regulation are often overwhelmed, uncertain, and at risk of dropping out before achieving their goals. Bridge retrofit prioritization is commonly guided by structural vulnerability, traffic conditions, or indirect consequences following a single bridge failure. However, these metrics often fail to identify retrofit projects that maximally reduce system-level functionality risk, because they do not account for the consequences of joint failures among multiple bridges. This presentation develops a mathematically rigorous, gradient-based approach to bridge retrofit prioritization for achieving a near-optimal reduction in functionality risk. This risk is formulated as the expected increase in total travel time given probabilistic bridge survival or failure under external stressors such as earthquakes. The new Specifications for the National Bridge Inventory (SNBI), in effect from 2022, emphasize the use of element-level condition states (CS) for risk-based bridge management. Instead of a general component rating, element-level condition data use an array of relative CS quantities (i.e., CS proportions) to represent the condition of a bridge. Although this greatly increases the granularity of bridge condition data, it introduces challenges to set up optimal life-cycle policies due to the expanded state space from one single categorical integer to four-dimensional probability arrays. Aim: To produce an updated synthesis of digital learning and teaching approaches in midwifery education since 2021. Background: Globally, there is an increasing trend towards using digital technologies in midwifery education with little examination of trends, terminology or impact by midwifery academics. Design: A comprehensive literature review. Methods: Ten databases were searched (2021–March 2025) guided by JBI methodology and PRISMA-ScR reporting, resulting in 36 empirical studies focusing on digital technologies used with midwifery students. This article brings Hans-Georg Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics into critical conversation with the pedagogical practice of philosophy in schools, focusing particularly on Philosophy for Children (P4C). While P4C offers a rich pedagogical model for developing reasonableness through the Community of Inquiry (CoI), its account of the conditions under which understanding occurs remains somewhat underdeveloped. Although some scholars have situated P4C in relation to hermeneutics, this engagement is limited. Addressing this gap, the key Gadamerian ideas of tradition, prejudice, and the fusion of horizons and dialogue are explored here to deepen and extend the theoretical considerations of inquiry in P4C. The efficiency of CO2 geo-sequestration relies heavily on the storage capacity and sealing integrity of the heterogeneous strata. Tight formations offer substantial advantages for long-term CO2 geological storage, however, the stratigraphic variability and lithological heterogeneity introduce substantial uncertainty in real-world engineering applications. Particularly, for tight formations with pronounced heterogeneous lithologies, traditional methods oversimplify their impact on CO2 geo-sequestration. Background Intestinal tuberculosis (TB) represents the most common form of abdominal TB, often affecting the ileocaecal region. Lower gastrointestinal bleeding is an uncommon presentation and may create significant diagnostic uncertainty, particularly in immunocompromised patients and in settings where inflammatory bowel disease is also encountered.

Case Presentation A woman in her sixties from Africa presented with recurrent diarrhoea and intermittent haematochezia over a 6-month period. Initial endoscopic evaluation was nondiagnostic. Cross-sectional imaging later demonstrated multifocal bowel involvement affecting both the small and large bowel, including ileocaecal and rectoanal disease, with associated abdominopelvic lymphadenopathy. The May Measurement Month (MMM) is a global screening campaign launched in 2017 to raise awareness of raised blood pressure (BP). Kenya has participated in all previous MMM campaigns. Adults aged ≥18 years were recruited through convenience sampling in nine counties of Kenya. Three seated BP readings were taken on each participant, and a questionnaire collected information on demographics, lifestyle factors, and comorbidities. Hypertension was defined as a systolic BP ≥140mmHg or diastolic BP ≥90mmHg or being on BP-lowering medication. Controlled BP was defined as being on BP-lowering medication with a BP < 140/90mmHg. Multiple imputation was used to estimate missing BP readings. In total, 4,601 were screened, with a mean age of 41.7 years and 42.7% were female. Of all participants, 1,176 (25.6%) had hypertension, of whom 198 (16.8%) were aware, and 190 (16.2%) were on antihypertensive medication. Of those on antihypertensive medication, 65 (34.2%) had controlled BP, and of all participants with hypertension, 5.5% had controlled BP. The mean systolic and diastolic BPs of those on treatment was significantly higher than those without hypertension. Hypertensive disease in a previous pregnancy was associated with higher BP amongst female participants.

Human-caused ignitions account for most wildfires in the United States, particularly along roadsides, utility corridors, and other high-risk infrastructure where fine fuels are abundant and ignition sources are concentrated. These settings are often embedded within grassland and shrubland ecosystems, where fires spread rapidly and can threaten nearby communities and assets. Preventative fire-retardant products (PFRPs) have emerged as a promising strategy for reducing ignition likelihood in these environments. Unlike traditional aerial retardants applied during active suppression, PFRPs are designed for annual, pre-season application to ignition-prone locations. Background: A major barrier to hepatitis C virus (HCV) elimination in the United States is the lack of a point-of-care test to confirm the presence of HCV RNA. The purpose of this clinical trial was to evaluate the performance of the Xpert® HCV test at CLIA-waived sites in the United States. Non-viral nanomedicines, including nanoparticles (NPs) composed of lipids and polymers, represent a transformative approach to drug and gene therapy. However, clinical translation of these technologies is limited by two key barriers: the scale-up of NP formulations and the challenge of conducting predictive preclinical studies in relevant animal models. Efficient upscaling of nanomedicines, from cost and material requirement perspectives, requires manufacturing processes that can reliably provide products across the many orders of magnitude of scale from discovery (kg of product). It is also one of the most prolific in terms of glitches, which are sudden frequency changes in a pulsar’s rotation. Such glitches could cause a variety of transient gravitational-wave signals. Artificial intelligence (AI), treated in this study as an umbrella term for AI-enabled clinical and educational technologies rather than as a single platform, is reshaping medical education, including how diagnostic skills, treatment planning, and patient care are taught. This study examines AI integration in medical education through the perceptions and readiness of clinical educators. Guided by the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology, the study explores factors influencing AI adoption in medical training, including performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions.
