The healthcare system faces a critical challenge as nursing shortages intensify, driven by factors such as an aging workforce, increased patient complexity, and insufficient organizational support. This study explores the multifaceted impact of these shortages on patient safety, care quality, and nurse well-being. Through mixed-methods analysis, it investigates how inadequate staffing ratios, lack of clinical training and resources, limited leadership support for work-life balance, and limited career advancement opportunities contribute to elevated stress, burnout, and attrition. The research highlights interventions, including mentorship, flexible staffing models, and professional development models, to address retention and sustain workforce capacity. Reducing Disparities In Breast Cancer Screening: A Mobile Mammography Initiative In Middle Georgia, Latasha T. Hill

This capstone project evaluated the implementation of mobile mammography units to improve access to breast cancer screening in Middle Georgia. The project aimed to reduce disparities in early detection and increase screening participation among underserved women aged 40 and older. Using the Health Belief Model as a theoretical framework, the initiative deployed a state-of-the-art mobile mammography unit, engaged community stakeholders, and implemented culturally responsive outreach. Over 6 months, 1,000 screenings were conducted, exceeding targets and demonstrating significant improvements in first-time screening rates, patient satisfaction, and follow-up adherence. Revitalizing Post-Primary Mammography Education: A Quality Improvement And Outreach Initiative, Erica M. Smith

This educational quality improvement project aimed to address declining enrollment in a post-primary mammography certification program and to respond to the growing shortage of certified mammography technologists. A needs assessment survey identified key student preferences, including hybrid course formats, weekday scheduling, and social media as the most effective marketing channel. In response, targeted outreach campaigns were launched, curriculum content was updated, and clinical partnerships were expanded to support enrollment and placement. As a result, the program met the minimum enrollment threshold for the first time since 2021, with five students completing the course. Post-course evaluations indicated high levels of satisfaction …

This capstone project examines the current state of mental health services at North Carolina A&T State University (NCAT), the largest Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in the United States. Through a quality improvement initiative, a survey was conducted among students, alumni, and staff to assess awareness, accessibility, and effectiveness of the university’s Counseling Services. Findings highlighted moderate satisfaction, concerns about counselor availability, and a need for expanded service hours and outreach. The deposits of critical minerals have been found in metalliferous shales. To aid in critical mineral assessments of the Devonian Shales in the Kentucky-Tennessee Mineral District (KTMD), this research project produced a map (digital GIS dataset) of the thickness (isopach) of the combined New Albany Shale/Chattanooga Shale/Ohio Shale interval across the region. The subsurface input data are from oil/gas well records and exploratory mineral core. Well and core records for the KTMD were acquired from the state surveys of Tennessee and Kentucky. This map presents a unified compilation of mining and mineral resource information for the Illinois-Kentucky Fluorspar District (IKFD), integrating two previously published maps: Denny et al. (2020) for the Illinois portion and Anderson and Sparks (2012) for the Kentucky portion. While the Illinois side remains unchanged, the Kentucky side has been updated using newly compiled data from the Kentucky Geological Survey’s Kentucky Mineral Resources Information map service (https://kgs.uky.edu/KYMineral/). This composite map offers an improved and more comprehensive view of the IKFD, highlighting mineral occurrences, historical mining activity, and structural features of the district.

Soil health is foundational to sustainable agriculture, environmental resilience, and long-term food security. Yet, the adoption of soil health assessments remains limited, often perceived as too technical, costly, or difficult to implement in real-world contexts. To better understand these challenges, the first chapter presents findings from a statewide survey of 41 soil health practitioners in Nebraska, including farmers, extension educators, NRCS staff, and conservation professionals. Respondents highlighted the need for simpler, more accessible, and context-specific tools for soil health assessment that help practitioners make informed decisions aligned with their management goals. Kernza^® is the trademarked name of the perennial crop intermediate wheatgrass (Thinopyrum intermedium). In addition to its potential for dual-use as a grain and forage crop, Kernza is marketed to provide needed environmental services by increasing crop biodiversity, sequestering soil carbon, and reducing nitrate leaching. However, more work is needed in cultivar selection and crop management to increase total grain yields and prevent long-term grain yield decline. Furthermore, research in quantifying and understanding Kernza’s ability to affect soil properties and water dynamics is limited.

This study, conducted during the 2024 growing season, evaluated short-term effects of soil management practices on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, soil microclimate, nitrogen dynamics, weed suppression, and soybean (Glycine max) yield. In addition to conventional tillage and no-till, this research included cereal rye (Secale cereale) cover cropping and a novel sprayable biodegradable mulch (BioWRAP®) to assess emerging strategies for sustainable soybean systems under contrasting moisture regimes.

Background: Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is used effectively in staging lung cancer and in the evaluation of benign causes of mediastinal and/or hilar lymphadenopathy (MHL), such as sarcoidosis. However, evidence for its utility in the diagnostic workup of silicosis is limited.

Methods: This single-center retrospective study included patients with occupational silica exposure who underwent EBUS-TBNA to evaluate MHL on computed tomography (CT). Cytology specimens were re-examined by an independent pathologist under polarized microscopy, and cytologic criteria for the diagnosis of LN silicosis were formulated from the findings. Earnings Management In Borsa Istanbul During Seasoned Equity Offerings, Mahmoud Ashour, Asuman Atik

The Indonesian Capital Market Review

To increase share prices during the issuance of seasoned equity shares, firms may be motivated to boost earnings through earnings management, particularly just before the offering. This study examines the earnings management practices of non-financial firms listed in Borsa Istanbul and surrounding seasoned equity offerings. Using the cross-sectional Modified Jones and Roychowdhury (2006) models, both accrual-based and real earnings management practices were analyzed from 2005 to 2018. The sample consists of 120 rights offerings within the research period. The results indicate that firms listed on Borsa Istanbul did not engage in earnings management the year before the offering.
